This would have gone pretty well except that when John (son of Henry) came to look at the job he told me that they would save and replant the bushes and plants that would have be removed to make their initial hole at the curbside city water connection (about 2'x 6' on surface). This was necessary to allow their underground-pipe installer to reach the depth required. When it came to "replacing" the plants, all they did was dig some holes in what was now a clay surface, pick up the plants with what topsoil balls remained around their roots and put them in the holes, doing little else to properly replant them. I have had to get my landscaper out to finish the job. They did do a very nice job of connecting the new copper water line to the house waterline in the basement and cleaned up well. City inspector checked both ends and was satisfied. Bottom line: if this installation had not had to start in our street-side garden, but maybe just in our lawn, I would have been happier with the results.

Henry Excavating responded promptly to our call for an estimate to replace 476' of blue max water supply line. After we decided to hire them, they scheduled within a week to perform the job. From the time they arrived at the property, it was clear they were well organized, experienced and very professional. We debated and researched HDD vs. open trench, very glad we went with HDD. Not only were they cheaper than open trench, the damage to the landscape and yard was minimized and we were without water for only a couple hours. Roger, his son John and the rest of the crew were very nice and friendly, would definitely hire them again. I researched the material requirements before speaking to any plumbing contractors. Roger's proposed materials exceeded all the requirements set by the county. Also they provided us with a 2 year warranty. Before we hire a contractor, we get quotes from at least 3 sources. I ended up calling 8 to get 4 quotes. Was surprised at the range of estimates we received, from cheapest to most expensive was nearly double. Also surprised that some companies wanted a fee to provide quote, I didn't even bother to schedule with them.

Wonderful! They called me back the same day and came out to take a look free of charge early the next morning. Very detailed explanation of services needed. Was able to fit me in the same afternoon and only took 2 hours. Used copper pipe and were able to trench underground vs tearing up my yard for half the coat of the other guys who would take more than a day to complete, tearing up yard and using cheaper pipe. Staff was extremely professional even taking the time to rake left over dirt clumps out of yard. VERY IMPRESSED!!

The crew arrived on schedule set up quickly and completed the horizontal boring which included pushing a conduit under the driveway. The work was completed in less than an hour with minimal excavation and no damage to my new driveway and I was able to proceed with my Lighting Project.

Job was completed in a timely manner. Mr. Henry even went to the hardware store for a part so he could hook up the garden hose to the water meter so I could have running water until the pipe was replaced

Roger Henry's crew arrived on time and explained the process of replacing the water line and how long the water would be shut off. They carefully removed the sod from around the meter pit and dug the required hole. They set up the new line and drilled thru the 8 inch cement foundation. They installed the new water line, shut off valve and pressure regulator and tested the line. The entire process took about 2 hours. The hole was refilled carefully and the sod laid back. There is a small hill which will go down in time as the earth settles by our water meter.
We were very impressed with the professionalism and care the crew displayed thru the entire process. The cleanup in the basement was excellent as well.
I would highly recommend Henry excavating for blue max replacement.
I am very pleased with the job. No trench was required across the yard. They dug one small hole to insert their dill. After the job was complete they covered the small hole and cleaned the basement where the new line came through the wall. Excellent value for a job that I was expecting to pay much more for. These guys are very friendly and the whole job was done in less than a day.
After getting a $15,000 quote from Thompson to do the job, their quote was $2,500 for poly or $3,500 for copper. We went with the poly since it meant one long run from the meter to the house. Copper would have meant having to dig up more yard, and several solder joints along the way. They have a great process where the only dig at the meter and at the house. I watched them do it and it was pretty cool. They have an attachment that they use that slices through the old line while guiding the new line through it underground. No digging a 200 foot trench through my yard. They kept my yard clean, even going so far as to put the top layer of grass back so it hardly looked like anything had been done.
Nice guys, great work, and great prices. I would definitely use them again.
They did a great job. Our waterline was replaced in less then a day. Other contractors wanted to cut through our porch or take out our driveway. I would recommend Henry Exc. to anyone who needs a waterline replacement.
We were very happy with the results. It took them only a few hours to do every thing and the only area you could even tell they had done any work in our yard was with the new drainage line, and that will be back to normal by spring I am sure. Roger is a very nice fellow and easy to work with and his crew were the same. We had them recommended to us by several friends and we were so happy they did. I will say this, also, the amount they charged us was about half of what some other companies had quoted us, and that would have been digging up our yard in a much more dramatic way.

Excellent from beginning to end. Got a referral from a neighbor who had similar work done recently. Had a water line (Blue Max) from our house to our barn break. Roger Henry came out and gave me an estimate to replace that line and to replace the supply line to the house as well as a minor issue with the septic tank. I wanted to replace the supply line to the house as well as it was also Blue Max and I knew it was only a matter of time (and if it didn't break it would be an issue when selling the house). Roger is very experienced with this and has a drill which can drill underground for hundreds of feet, thus not disturbing the landscape. He gave me an estimate which was higher than I got from others who would dig a trench along the entire line, but in addition to not disturbing the landscape, Roger's method will likely increase the lifetime of the line as there are no ups and downs as there would be in a trench. Essentially they dug two holes (one for each section of line and drilled from there to either end. Really neat. Over 300 feet of line in all and used copper at both ends with black poly in between. The water works great and we have more water pressure at the barn than before. The workers were very professional and kept the interior part where they needed to access our basement clean as well. As I said, a little more money than some others, but I have no regrets with going with Henry Excavating and their drilling method for replacement of our underground water lines.
I was pleased with the service. When I realized I had a leak I called and left a message. Roger called and came out the next morning. He inspected and measured the distance, explained how the pipe would be replaced and gave me an estimate. I had talked to some neighbors and friends and had a reasonable idea of the costs. I thought the price was reasonable so I gave him the go ahead. He had a weeks work ahead of me, so he rigged a temporary waterline to bypass the leak. A week later, his crew showed up on time and were very experienced and professional. Roger had estimated 6 to 8 hours to complete the work, and they actually finished the job early. I would certainly hire them again.
