We have a 4plex that had the pressure valve on the furnace leak into the crawl space and cause mold damage. When we called Henrys, they gave us a rough estimate of $6000 and a two week timeline. After 4 weeks the work was still not completed. They had dryers going for 18 days and there was still water RUNNING thru the crawl space. I work on the slope and trusted them to handle the situation appropriately. My wife saw that the streets had been dug up in the last few weeks and noticed water RUNNING thru the crawl space. She called the city. They said that the digging may have diverted the water table towards our property. This unit has never had to have a sump pump but one was obviously needed now due to water moving thru the crawl space. Henrys just kept trying to dry out the space with all their machines not realizing it wasn't going to dry out without a sump pump being installed. At week 4 they finally installed a sump pump for $1450. Henrys did take off 10 days of the equipment charge, but did not offer to pay for the high electric bill due to their machines. It took 6 weeks to complete the work and we had to call them back to clean up stuff when they said they were done. They didn't take down the negative pressure tent or remove the plastic on the carpet. The total bill was over $17,000 and we noticed a double charge on the bill. They took off $1300. The work done was to dry out the space, take out and replace one small wall of sheet rock, replace the visqueen, install a sump pump and sand down the wood and apply a coating. This was not covered by insurance so when we got a bill for $17,000 after being quoted around $6000, we were not happy. We understand that mold remediation can be expensive, but $17,000 not covered by insurance was a shock to us. It was a very disruptive experience for our tenants since the work took so long to complete. They had security cameras in their house that showed the workers coming and goings and we need to go thru them to verify the hours billed.
Upstairs bath water leak with about 400 gallons of water ran into kitchen below. Entire kitchen removed down to studs. They responded within 45 minutes of calling them and had kitchen gutted within 2 hours. Dehumidifiers were placed in all areas affected. Reconstruction went pretty smoothly. We had old Sheetrock with asbestos joint compound that needed removal, hazmat team brought in. New Sheetrock, cabinets, tile and paint. There are always issues with obtaining materials and coordination when you are building. Henry's did a good job of keeping us updated and responding to immediate concerns. Workman were reliable and showed pride in workmanship. We are pleased with the results.
Low quality work on trim. Workers had to be reminded to do things multiple times. At times I felt like the foreman. Drywall guy was good, timely and professional and did great work. The guys doing the trim and painting were horrible and did really shoddy work. I would not use them again.
I contacted Henry's to evaluate mold growth in an attic space. They sent a technician out very promptly and provided a quote for remediation. Due to the difficulty of working in this area the quote was based on time and materials with a and quot;not to exceedand quot; price. The final price was lower than originally estimated. The workers were efficient, polite and professional. An independent lab provided testing of the area after remediation was complete. When the lab results showed a low level of remaining mold growth, Henry's backed up their original work by repeating the remediation work and lab testing at their expense. I was very pleased with this company and would use them again if the need arises.
They sure took their time in doing things. Left things in the yard like screens that weren't damaged. didn't clean up messes. Didn't do add-ons I asked for. Did things I didn't want. No communication unless I called them. Mostly that is how contractors operate so I don't hold it against them too much We'll see when the bill comes. They should hire a woman to do their cleaning for them.
The estimate seemed competitive. The gentlemen that came to my house were very knowledgeable, professional, prompt and experienced. They were responsive and were on time.

We discovered a sewage leak in our crawl space. I started by calling many different work men individually (like calling a plumber directly). Due to the hazardous waste, most organizations were not equipped to help me. Finally, I called Henry's Services. They were able to come see the problem, then call the correct organizations so start getting things fixed. Once things were fixed enough for them to come in they came promptly and explained things as we went. I fell they did a very good job. The only category that I marked slightly lower was due to cost. I was not expecting such a high price but that could have been because of my specific needs - crawlspace with no vent to the outside so it was harder to dry.
