We are so pleased with how Dan refinished our red oak floors! We were looking for a lighter, matte finish and he absolutely came through. From his first visit for a quote through the end of our project we appreciated the information Dan provided. With his guidance we felt solid in our decision making and he was very communicative so we always knew what was coming.

5 Stars +! Dan and his crew did excellent work restoring 6 wood floors in rooms that had seen a lot of traffic. The final product looked great and Dan kept me informed throughout the whole project. You don't get any "do-overs" with hardwood floors - so you need to find someone like H&H who are truly professional and will do your job right the first time!

Excellent! Dan and John were absolutely professional, attentive to detail, prompt, courteous and incredibly hard workers. They removed 4 layers of old flooring in our kitchen and dining room--no small task--and installed gorgeous white oak, character-grade hardwood. I was amazed at their attention to detail (sanding down the old plywood before installation!) and triple sanding the new hardwood before applying stain. As someone who has personally installed hardwood, I can say from experience that their cuts and selection of board lengths, quality of material and precision in tough areas, etc. was EXCELLENT. I am not exaggerating when I say we cannot wait to schedule our next flooring job with H&H! 5 Stars Plus!!!

Having Dan and his team refinish our hardwood floors was the best decision we could have made. From the very first email to the last day of the project, Dan kept us informed on the project status made sure that we understood exactly what was going to happen. He was very accommodating with our scheduling requests and finished the project on time without any surprise costs. The corners of the floor molding are the best example of quality craftsmanship I have ever seen on a hardwood floor. The finish was an exact match to the stairs; saving us the added expense to have those refinished as well. If you have had a bad experience with a contractor in the past, H&H Hardwood will restore your faith that good contractors are still out there.

WOW! Where do I begin? Dan and his team were amazing. We had a very specific idea for the floors in our new home construction and our builder told us it wasn't possible in our price point/a lot of work to find them and get the look we wanted. We found H & H Hardwood floor online and gave Dan a call. He was so knowledgeable, professional and informative. He was able to find us exactly what we were looking for with wide plank hardwood floors at an affordable price. Our builder really screwed up some timelines and made it super difficult on Dan to install the floors and finish the floors, but Dan was so accommodating and did his best to work around their terrible scheduling. He updated us at every turn, communicated incredibly effectively and gave us the most outstanding floors that were exactly our vision. On top of that, he was prompt and stuck to his timelines perfectly. Basically, this company is a gem and you should not hesitate to hire them! We are forever grateful for H & H and will recommend them eternally.

My spec home came with carpeted basement stairs that I didn’t care for at the beginning and after nearly three years of wear the builder grade product was looking shabby. The first contractor I discussed changing the surface to hard wood said it could not be done; the second might be able to do the conversion but wasn’t interested in the job. I found H&H Hardwood through Angie’s List and was pleasantly surprised. Mr. Fier responded to my voice mail promptly and arrived at the appointed time to study the project. He was incredibly thorough and clearly discussed alternatives. He promised a detailed proposal in a few days and produced the most detailed project description I’ve encountered in the course of many remodeling projects. After reaching an agreement and establishing a schedule, Dan and his crew arrived promptly each day, tackled the carpet removal, tread modifications and structural improvements in an organized, professional manner. The existing shop built stairs were refaced with ½” red oak and the finished project exceeds expectations. It would be difficult to find evidence that these steps were not constructed with hard wood at the initial build. After a good discussion I decided to have the stairs finished with Rubio Monocoat versus the more traditional stain covered by multiple layers of polyurethane. The penetrating Monocoat offers easier touchups and a much shorter application/curing time versus urethane. Dan made every effort to match the engineered hardwood flooring covering my main floor and the stain match is excellent. In short I am very pleased to recommend H&H Hardwood of Front Royal, VA for your hardwood needs. In this era where customer service is so often a forgotten skill, it was wonderful to deal with a pleasant person who clearly knows his business, arrives on time, leaves the premises spotless after every workday and provides an excellent product.

H and H Hardwood Supply, Inc. is above and beyond the best. Dan Fier is a true professional from planning to execution. We hired H&H after a flood damaged a portion of our hardwood floors. Dan met with us, brought samples, assessed the damage, and proposed a refinishing solution. Since our floors run throughout, we had to move out to allow his team to refinish the floors. Upon our return home, the floors were nothing less than magnificent. The recommended Rubio Monocoat Pure Oil Plus 2C finish is great. Dan kept us informed throughout the project. Working with Dan of H&H Hardwood was probably the best experience with a contractor that I have ever had -- high praise, but completely deserved. Inspected the job before quoting and was clearly knowledgable. Presented various finish options and explained them clearly. Promptly supplied a quote, price reasonable, started and finished when promised. Best of all, gave me progress reports during the several days of work. As an unexpected bonus, put felt tabs on the furniture legs to avoid future damage. I could no be more pleased.

The bottom line is the floor looks wonderful. But, there's much more to recommend Dan and his team. They were professional and helpful throughout the process. Dan and his brothers installed a white oak floor in our bedroom. They were especially helpful in navigating us through the decisions that resulted in just the right floor. The craftsmanship was excellent - their attention to detail and the care they take in completing the job are excellent. Highly recommended!

Could not be more pleased! The final product is beautiful, the whole process was very professionally handled, every detail in the workmanship was addressed, they worked with our schedule, he and his crew were there at the times we agreed upon, he answered any questions we had along the way, and we have already recommended them to two other friends. Dan and his brothers are extremely professional and have outstanding work ethics. Not only did they perform the work contracted, but the work was completed on time. The attention to detail (installed molding where none had previously existed, supplied numerous samples for review, swept the basement floor of debris caused by the first floor installation, installed felt pads under all furniture that touched the new flooring and dusted the furniture as it was being replaced into the original positon, etc.) was unbelievable! My wife and I felt very comfortable leaving our home while they were performing the work.

Installed new hardwood in previously-carpeted living room and fingered in hardwood into existing hardwood in foyer. The results for this and the rest of the project were amazing. Dan Fier was the epitome of professionalism. He is a very thorough communicator. The estimate was very detailed. He stayed in close touch throughout the process. Dan sold us on the benefits of site-finished hardwood as opposed to pre-finished although he willingly provided an estimate for both. This was a good deal more expensive than we had expected and required a redo on the estimate. We opted to not use hardwood in the kitchen and compromised on the grade of the hardwood to meet the budget requirements. Dan custom stained some samples of the wood that would be used to help us make the final choice on finish. All the workers were friendly and efficient and the worksite was left as neat as possible every day. We are delighted with the results. <br />

Excellent.  Dan Fier is a total professional, if anything over-communicates, you know what you will get and what is going on.  The crew area ll nice people, trustworthy (we left for the week of demolition).  They tightened a couple of joists loose in the hangers, inspected crawl space, tightened some duct hangers--anything that would affect the floor or allow it to make noise when walked upon.  They were clean, virtually no dust left around.  Just amazing. Can't recommend them highly enough--use them, you'll find worse, I did, and interviewed others who weren't as thorough or careful, but you won't find anyone as good around here.  And they offer suggestions when you wish, prepare samples on finishes on the wood they are putting down.  <br /> Use this provider. <br />

I'm not going to be too "wordy" - I just want to cut to the chase - If you are looking for quality, professional work with anything that has to do with hardwood flooring - H & H is the company you want to do your work.  I didn't put down the cost of service - because I believe each job has it's own unique "details",  and don't want to discourage anyone from using them because of cost. (I always shop around, and love a good deal :)!)  They were not the cheapest, not the most expensive.  They were the BEST! and I am writing as a "repeat" customer.  <br /> Dan knows more about flooring than anyone I have ever met (and my husband is a contractor - so I've met a lot!). You will NOT be disappointed.  On top of QUALITY WORK, Dan is also very HONEST.
