My 17 year old Subzero refrigerator was in need of repair and after calling another repair company that was offering a $99 Angie's List coupon and not getting a return call, I got a recommendation for High End Appliance (Lou was the repairman). They answered all my questions (I had quite a few), scheduled me for the next day, called in the morning as they said they would to give me an appointment time, arrived on time, diagnosed the problem immediately (a new thermostat) and had the problem fixed within 1/2 hour! Everything was perfect & I spent less on the service call than I would have if I had used their competitor's $99 coupon. My contractor husband and I were so impressed with the quality of their work, their honesty & their professionalism, that we will continue to use & refer High End Appliance in the future. You won't be disappointed.

On their last service call, Arthur of High End Appliance basically rebuilt the Sub Zero. Just as then, we are delighted with the quality and effectiveness of their service.

Pete showed himself to be knowledgeable and skilled at servicing our Sub Zero Model 561. Even though it is 24 years old, replacing it would necessitate major cabinet modification so we are very pleased to find a reliable service company to keep our refrigerator/freezer running effectively.

Arthur was very prompt, courteous and professional. He took the time to explain the cause of the problem and the cost for the repair. The cost of the service call was very reasonable. We were very happy with him and the service that he provided.
First visit from HIgh End was service call on in mid August. Tech said all looked OK and reset fridge/freezer temp controls. Said that freezer drawer gasket should be replaced. Tech here from High End on Sept. 3 to replace freezer gasket. Not charged another service fee, just paid for part, as second visit within one month. Started to notice that fridge not keeping temp. High End returned 9/13 in a.m. to replace part and add refrigerant. I know that refrigerators take a few hours to get cold but after two hours did not feel even a whiff of coldness anywhere in refrig or freezer. Called High End back same day of service to say that fridge not getting cold and that tech should come back.
9/13, receptionist answering phone very rude with poor attitude. No customer service skills. She basically ignored me. Next morning fridge still not cold. After many calls in morning, tech came back late in day and changed another part.
By that time, I had called another Sub Zero service company to assess fridge as I had a holiday dinner to prepare the next day and wasn't certain if High End would show. I didn't care that I would have to pay another service fee. I was certain that High End was not servicing the fridge properly.
New company showed up as High End was just finishing. After High End left, tech from new company assessed fridge, listened to my account of repairs. Technician stated that he was doubtful if repairs done by High End were the necessary ones. New tech stated that the old the refrigerator would most likely need a particular major repair in near future.
Today is 10/5 and once again I am playing with fridge controls to keep fridge cold. I will never use High End again, even though tech from new company did confirm that new company's prices were higher.
Our 14 year old SubZero would not cool below 50 degrees and an ice patch was forming along the back wall. We called Accurate Appliances first. They vacuumed its coils and told us that if this didn't do the job, we needed to call SubZero directly since they did not do major repairs. SubZero referred us to GA Service and High End Appliances for factory-trained servicing and parts. Neither provides emergency service. GA was booked but High End, comes twice a week to our area in Brooklyn, was able to come the following Tuesday.
We effectively had to clear our entire day for the appointment. High End calls you the day before to say that they will let you know the next morning when they will be coming that day -- between 1-4 pm in our case. Arthur and George arrived at 3:30 with a good idea of what the problem was, having asked a lot of questions in advance. They had the parts needed, were professional, efficient, and good about explaining what they were doing. And they were patient, allowing us a little time to clean the shelves before returning them to the unit.
SubZero repairs are very expensive, consistent with their high retail price. Our unit has done a good job for us for 14 years with only a few minor repairs. So this says something about their quality. We don't know if this repair has fixed the problem. But High End gave us a one year warranty on labor and parts. Our experience today suggests that they stand behind their work.

My Sub Zero refrigerator was not cooling to the level that it should have been. The temp was around 43 degrees. I called All Island first, as they were listed here as well and had a higher grades and more recommendations. Although their listing stated multiple times that they work on Sub Zero, They told me they don't and gave me the # to Sub Zero corporate, who in turn directed me to High-End Appliance. I told High-End Appliance my issue and they had a guy out the next day promptly at 9am. I believe the gentleman who came to my residence was named Richard, or Rich. I honestly cannot say enough good things about him, professional, clean, paid attention to detail etc.. He knew exactly what was wrong, explained it to me in detail to where it was very simple to understand, as i know nothing about refrigeration, and then proceeded to fix the issue. He was in and out within 30 mins, and my refrigerator never worked better. Although it was a bit costly, he managed to get part of it covered under warranty and saved me close to $300 (the refrigerator is covered for 12 years and im at the 12 year mark to the month!).

I would highly recommend this company and will DEFINITELY use them in the future!

Thanks High-End Appliance!

They were awful. The guy who came here tried to fix the light cover with broken pieces and basically rigged it instead of fixing it and tried to get away with it. When I called them to come back, a new guy came and fixed it but charged me the $5 for the piece still, which I know it was only $5 but it was just the fact they tried to fake it the first time.
