The final result was satisfactory, but there were several problems in addition to the work, beginning with the fact that they were difficult to make contact with. Several months passed after I had hoped they would be able to do the work.

2. The contract was for 8 hours of work. They were at my house for 7 hours total and took an hour's lunch break.

3. They told me it was going to cost more after they started the job because the walls would require 2 coats of paint, which I thought was standard. When they were finished, I was told it would be an additional $400. I asked for an itemized bill ,and they said they would send it to me. I never received a bill. I paid them because I wanted them out of my house. Overall the paint job was good and the $600 total was probably not unreasonable, but it was not the Big Deal I thought I was getting.

It did not turn out great. I don't think they did what they were supposed to do. There were no additional charges beyond the big deal amount. But, they just walked in and out. They just went up on the attic. That's about it.

The service did not go particularly well. I remember them having to cut a hole in the crawlspace and they just left the hole in the wall. We had to pay an additional fee for them to complete what needed done. The technicians were not too professional and blamed the issue on how the ducts were in the house. They should have known about the ducts before starting the job. I do not remember having any problem scheduling.

Amiable two brothers. at first. Owner worked in cellar and stated he was a mold expert and could do what was needed for an additional fee. Other brother painted two short walls and 2 half walls, plus window frames. Walls were ok. Windows painted shut and excess paint on glass left for me to do. Came another day to do one large exterior wall and patch stucco. That was done well. BUT, afterwards I found that a weather cap on outdoor faucet was broken off. WHen they atttempted to replace some up/down window shades on painted interior windows, one was put back , while the other was broken. Had to replace both so they would match.
He refused to give me receipts for the materials he purchased to do the job. I needed a copy to add to my home repairs list as am selling my house. Never got them. He gave me a bill and did not indicate or acknowledge that he was already paid the $100 from the Angie list offer. The shades lost were $125 each and I had to replace them with $50 ones as had no time to reorder the up/down ones. The exterior paint job did not involve shielding the door sills from spilled paint, so that clean up awaits me.
I later found he had taken a half filled bag of trash into cellar to put his painting trash in. He then left it outside without taking it to the bins and animals scattered other trash everywhere. He left two moldy cartons there as well instead of taking them to the barrels and did not clean up a messy garage where he left the remnants of painting for me to clear up.
I have no idea what I paid for the materials as he would not itemize, so maybe they are being used on another job. I felt he was doing things under the table to my detriment. I would advise to get any additional work suggested in writing with a proper proposal which I was at fault for not insisting on; he kept adding suggestions with scattered pricing and do believe he felt I was 76 so could be addled and I paid him less than what he finally decided was fair and more than he should have been paid, The work done on exterior wall was done well but I still have to replace the broken faucet so that will involve more money for me to pay out due to his sloppiness. He did ask me to remove my comments to you but I feel others will be fleeced so will make this one.

We assume they did a good job of mold remediation, stemming from a leak in a 3rd floor bathroom going down into ceiling of 2nd floor bathroom. Nice guys, but not careful about working in an old house where we wanted to save old details, breaking woodwork and tiles as they removed some wall and ceiling areas. They put in a new sink and toilet that we ordered for the 2nd floor and reset the 3rd floor toilet and re-caulked floor around shower and toilet. But we have continued to have problems with leaks.

Would not use this contractor in the future. Didn't do work on-time, and just finished half job. He said he had a big project in RI, would not get our job done as orginally agreed.
Response from Home Care Services
"Like they say their is to sides to a story. I did the work for this person and husband, I painted there garage over a year ago and they did not pay me for my work. So I took them to small claims court and the hearing was yesterday 4/9/14 and the judgement will be mailed to us. I just find it funny that they write a review after the court hearing, If they did not like the work why did they wait so long to write a review."

The services worked out okay. They were okay. They started but didn't finish, and I had to get somebody else to come and finish, and so I wouldn't recommend them. The interaction with them was good, and the work that they did was okay. The price was good.

The no breaking down of costs and supplies (for the mold) is annoying me as accountant wants that, I provided the paint supplies. Am attempting once again to request receipts and breakdown.

I purchased this deal a year ago. After scheduled several appointments and having to reschedule a number of times, the last reschedule was two days before he was supposed to paint, Kevin finally arrived at 8:30 am right when he said.
Unfortunately, Kevin came with another worker unprepared for painting the room. He had to run to the hardware store and purchase supplies which I had on hand. He was gone for about 40 minutes. The other worker with him started to work. Three hours later he took a lunch break for an hour. Upon returning he talked with me about continuing. He said he'd worked three and a half hours already and did I want him to continue the job for an additional $55.00 per man per hour. He also said that the lunch time break was included in the hours I prepaid for. This of course surprised me and also convinced me that I did not want to have him continue working in my home. The work I had expected was a 13x14' room to be painted. What I got was the trim around the six windows and three doors painted. I guess you get what you pay for.
I had a coupon for 8 hours of painting. The first thing that they did was go to the paint store to get rollers and trays. I think that should have been done prior to arriving, especially since I paid hourly. They were extremely kind, polite and helpful, offering to fix things and help me with other little problems I had around the house. I added additional painting to the job, since they were unable to finish in the 8 hours. I had asked for woodwork to be included but noticed the next day that the wood doors had not been done. They got a third person to help and since the rate was hourly it came to much more than I had expected. I probably could have had the 3 rooms done for 2/3 the cost without a coupon. The next day I noticed that there were spots in the room that the paint did not cover. I called and emailed and was told they would come and fix it and paint the doors. They never came back. I emailed and spoke to Kevin several months later and he was dealing with a personal emergency but assured me he's get back to me. Never did. The paint job was incomplete. I deliberated long and hard about writing this since Kevin seems to be a really nice man with a good heart. But now I am going to have to pay to pay someone to repaint the den and finish the woodwork.
This is a very old house where walls are in ok condition. This room had not been painted in about 10 years. He pointed out all the blemishes that needed patching and sanding and fixed the ones I agreed to do. He gave the walls and ceiling 2 coats and 3 coats on the trim. The room is so much cleaner and brighter. Looks great.

I gave a B for responsiveness because I did need to follow up a few times to actually get the work scheduled, but once I got a date they were there when they said they would be. They were very personable and constantly checked with me to confirm their work was satisfactory. I would use them again.
communication with vendor was on the minimal side. I didn't know what time they were coming, and wasn't told that they had completed the task. The only clue was that the dryer started taking longer to dry clothes, and the vent pipe in the basement started to drip water. I ended up dismantling the vent as close to the drip as I could and vacuuming out a big plug of lint. clearly not what I was hoping for.
Big Deal was for 8 total man hours of painting for $199. Contractor showed up with 4 people, and they knew beforehand that I only wanted the highest peaks down to just the top of highest windows on the house to be painted (about 20% down from the peak). The house is medium size, and all these areas are reachable with a standard size aluminum extension ladder. After they started it appeared that they weren't going to finish for the Deal price, so I contracted with the owner for the day. They quoted $55/hour/person for three people ( fourth was not an employee), so I expected they would complete all the painting of the high areas. They did not because one person was almost always holding a ladder, and two were painting. The land on one side is pitched, but the ladder could have easilly been supported with a ladder adjuster or large wood shims, under one leg, without the need for someone holding it, and they had more than one ladder. The rear of the house is level, so there should not be any need for someone to hold the ladder. I've used other professional house painters in the past who did just that with no problems. Charging $55 per hour for someone to basically hold a ladder is ridiculous. And, as I found out later from a carpenter who did some work on the roof where there is vertical siding that they said they had painted, they did not do a complete job.
.
