We received Nafi's name from a neighbor who had used him to redo her kitchen. We were extraordinarily pleased with the work that Nafi and his team did for us. Everyone was respectful of our home, protecting walls, floors and rooms with room coverings and floor protectants. We had an idea in mind for our design, which Nafi implemented perfectly. He also added some ideas of his own, which enhanced our original design. The quality of workmanship and materials that he used were exceptional. We had one issue with doors that were installed. The issue had nothing to do with his installation, but was caused by the door frames which were original and not level. Nafi came to fix the issue free of charge and without question. I would highly recommend Nafi to anyone looking for home renovation. He stands by his work and has high quality at a fair price. We shared his name with a friend who was also pleased.

Home Design Center was a pleasure to work with. They did an all new kitchen, master bathroom and floors and I cannot be any happier with the results. Nafi is all about attention to detail and perfection and did not cut any corners when working on my projects. He is very reliable and his employees are very courteous when conducting the work. I continued to live at the house during the renovation and Nafi made sure that I was comfortable, the place was as clean as possible and air vents blocked so debris and dusy would not grt caught there. Nafi’s prices are reasonable especially considering the quality of work he does. He also does not nickle and dime you; when small issues arose, he took care of them without asking for additional money. He is a mannof his word and the quality of his works soeaks to that. I recommend Home Design Center without any reservations.

The bathroom turned out beautiful.

The work was done quickly and professionally. They remodeled two bathrooms in approximately two weeks. We couldn't be happier about the finished product or the value we received for our money.

We had Nafi come in to give a price on refinishing some oak flooring and replacing some carpet with similar flooring. He is very charismatic and indicated that it would be cheaper just to pull everything up and install new. We had had a tree fall which destroyed a deck attached to our bedroom which we never use. There is a sliding glass door which led out to the deck. Nafi suggested removing the door and replacing with a window which would open up livable space in the room. He said he could do the framing with the rest of the job. We live in Reston and they are very particular about things and I told him numerous times that the trim on the outside had to match the other windows. He told us he had a source for surplus hickory flooring and gave us a budgetary price for the work of $10k. He came back a week or so later with some samples to show us. He indicated that the surplus flooring he had proposed did not come with a guarantee and thus he wouldn't install it. As a result the formal price for the floor with the window framing was about $12k, a 20% increase. We had done a bit of shopping around, and this was still a fair price, so we accepted. At the appointed time, Nafi and his crew showed up, and on the first day they did the demo, most of the framing work and a bit of the floor installation. On the second day, they finished the floor. He indicated that he would come back to finish the window work. He wanted all but $600 of the remainder of the money. We paid him, which turned out to be a mistake. After that he basically refused to come out and finish the window trim, which had to be completed before the window was installed. My son and I installed the trim a couple of days before the window was available for installation. There is one piece of shoe moulding that was missed in the original install and several small pieces were split when they were nailed and have come loose. I've asked Nafi for a stick of shoe a half dozen times to no avail. So, they do good work, when you can get them there. Don't even think about paying them until you are certain the job is completed.

Great. Nafi, the owner, is an artist and expert craftsman who employs a great team but is typically on the job too. He completed the job with no problems, on schedule and on budget. His work was amazing and we enjoy it every day! Nafi helped design the project before the build, ensuring an even better project than we expected. About a year later a few floor boards were damaged and Nafi helped repair them without any problems. I recommend Home Design for all of your remodeling!

From the moment I walked into the showroom I felt confident that I was dealing with professionals who genuinely wanted to do a good job. I was greeted by the lovely and very helpful Lilly who arranged for Nafi, the owner, to come and see me a few days later. Nafi turned up on time and had fantastic ideas about using the bathroom space more efficiently. He has a fully stocked showroom and choosing materials was easy as Nafi has a fantastic eye for design, color and texture. <br /> I went to see another Kitchen and Bathroom designer, also A rated on Angie's list, but there was no comparison. I was dealing with a salesperson, the quote was higher and the equipment and materials proposed were by far inferior. <br /> Using Nafi my two projects went flawlessly. The bathroom now looks stunning and has beautiful design features.  Everything, right down to the lighting and mirror were included in the original quote. The wooden flooring in the room next door was matched perfectly to the much older hallway wood. The whole room was repainted and now looks fresh and modern. <br /> Nafi is a true professional and equally as important, he has integrity. He wants to do a great job and won't stop until you are completely happy. <br /> Not only did he do the work contracted, he also: leveled my dishwasher which had obviously not been fitted properly, fixed a leaking bathroom tap which we didn't want to replace as we will be doing the whole bathroom next year, fixed the kitchen tap which was not flowing properly and spent at least 2 hours trying to understand why the electrics in the master bathroom were not working. None of these jobs was related to the contacted work and he didn't charge extra for any of them, he's just a nice guy who wants to do the right thing. <br /> I plan to do two more bathrooms and my whole kitchen with Nafi over the next few years. I don't need to look around anymore I know exactly who I will be using.  I recommend him 100%. <br />

We had an excellent experience with Home Design Center and Flooring. From the beginning, the owner of the company, Mr. Nafi Saafi, dealt with us personally, was happy to travel to our home repeatedly as needed, and, most important of all, listened to what we were looking for instead of trying to lead us into agreeing to something beyond what we wanted.  <br /> We found the fee for the services was within our expected price range, and at no point did HDC&F try to talk us into additional services beyond what had been agreed to or what we had asked for, as have other contractors we have dealt with in the past. HDC&F's staff were friendly, respectful of our home, punctual, efficient, and did an excellent job. We're very pleased with the quality of the work, all of which was completed in a timely manner; I think everything took about two weeks, beginning to end. <br /> One additional thing that we especially appreciated was that the day HDC&F staff arrived to begin the work, they discovered that the previous company that had done the mold remediation in our basement had removed the wood stud framework that had covered the cinder blocks in the foundation of the house and to which the dry wall would be anchored. My wife and I had not been paying close attention to that as the mold removal work went on, and HDC&F was unaware that the new wood work would be needed. But HDC&F didn't miss a beat in adapting to the unexpected extra work, and the same day their workers brought in new wood and installed the new wood stud framework throughout the basement. We were charged extra for the wood and labor, of course, but the cost remained within our price range.  <br /> The day we visited NDC&F's show room before the work began to pick the style of floor tiling, paint, and carpeting we would have installed, we were shown every courtesy, including being offered refreshments, a pleasant extra touch. <br /> The only category on the above rating scale for which I graded HDC&F below an excellent (I gave them a good on responsiveness) was for only a minor point, which is that they did not always communicate to us when their staff would be returning to our house to continue the work after one stage, such as painting the walls, had been completed. It was never a big deal and, as noted above, all work was completed in a timely manner; we never had to track down HDC&F to complete the job, as we have had to do with other contractors in the past. But keeping us consistently informed day to day of when the work would resume was the only area in which we felt we would have liked more responsiveness. <br /> It was a pleasure working with HDC&F, and we will absolutely give them our business again. We'll have our kitchen redone sometime in the next few years, and we'll return to HDC&F for that job. On the basis of our experience, I would gladly recommend HDC&F to others.  <br /> <br />

Home Design Center installed hardwood floors for us and we are very happy with the result.  Nafi, the owner, is easy to work with and is involved in the project from start to finish.  He has a lot of pride in his company and the work they do.  His employees were skillful and efficient.  All the detail and finishing work was well done.   In one week they installed hardwood in seven rooms and a hall, painted the baseboards, and installed a runner on the stairs.  We would definitely recommend this company. <br />

Nafi and his team did an awesome job remodelling our kitchen and replacing our hardwood floor.  He tore out our kitchen and replaced it with new cabinets, appliances, lighting, granite, backsplash, sink, faucet, flooring, and paint.  His attention to detail is remarkable and he is very good about listening and making adjustments on the fly.  He has such a keen sense of design that we didn't need to spend the extra money on a professional designer.  He helped us to select the cabinets, color, granite, backsplash and the overall design of the kitchen.  His pricing is highly competitive and I really feel that we got a great value for the work that he did.  He is neat, punctual, and got the entire job completed in about 5 weeks.   I highly recommend him for any house project, big or small.  We plan to have him remodel our bathrooms next.   <br /> <br /> <br />

We stumbled upon Home Design Center & Flooring by driving around the industrial park areas of Tysons Corner, and finding the showroom in a complex on Tyco Road.  After an initial meeting with Nafi in his showroom, he came out to the condo to see what the status was, and we followed the visit up with a more detailed appointment at his showroom where we were able to pick out all of the different materials/colors/designs for the bathroom renovations.  Nafi is extremely open to your suggestions and also has a great eye for design, so he had plenty of recommendations when we gave our initial idea of what we wanted.  <br /> After the appointment, Nafi and his team showed up within a week to begin the work (this depends on his schedule, which was pretty open in the early spring timeframe). They were able to get through a lot of the work in short order, and whenever they hit a snag (e.g., an electrical outlet that was partially below the new taller vanity we ordered) we got an immediate phone call.  None of the snags resulted in a change order, and Nafi was very fair about any additional charges when we requested to have more work performed than we had originally agreed upon.  <br /> At the end of the renovation we had two beautiful new bathrooms with luxurious amenities.  The condominium complex is notorious for giving contractors a difficult time and short work periods, but Nafi and his team worked around all of those challenges and got everything done quickly and with high quality.  Highly recommended for any sort of home renovation services. <br />

When we decided to renovate our town home we started shopping for contractors. We found Nafi through Angi's list. Our first meeting with Nafi went really well. He really looked passionate about his work  so we met him at his store in Tyson's corner. He showed all the materials he is going to use to renovate our kitchen. All the materials he showed to us was of very good quality. We liked the material and Nafi's passion for his work so we decided to give work to him. <br /> Initially we gave work to renovate Kitchen, paint house and install carpet and hardwood floor but later on we also asked him to renovate our 2 bathrooms as well. <br /> Nafi and his people worked at hour house for almost 1 and half month. Nafi was personally involved everyday.  Nafi and his people did best job renovating our kitchen and bathrooms. I was really surprised when I saw the final product. Nafi talks a lot  (like any other salesman) when we meet him but he delivered on all his promises written or oral. <br /> Nafi completed work on time and didn't delay his delivery date even though it was winter time and we had major snow storms while Nafi was working at our home. <br /> I would use him in future for all my home improvement projects. I have already recommended him to couple of my friends. <br />

Nafi, as the owner of Home Design Center, visited our home and evaluated our situation. He gave us advice on what was needed to make the basement a really enticing room that we would want to spend time in. He listened and took the time to understand what we were looking for.  We started with flooring.  We wanted a low-maintenance floor that would stand up well and be mold-resistant. He invited us into the showroom on Tyco Road in Vienna, VA to look at different types of flooring that met these requirements. Nafi was there to advice us on color schemes and lighting. He recommended we have an accent wall, which we decided to go with, and aesthetically it makes for a much more interesting room.   <br /> When the flooring and paint were ordered and arrived, he and his team got to work.  They are organized, and worked carefully and efficiently. They re-did all the crown molding, and ensured there were multiple coats of paint on the walls  They don't nickle and dime. For example, the ceiling required many coats of paint. They kept putting on the additional coats of paint until it looked right. They will do what they need to do to exceed customer expectations. They had to re-do the banister because the original one -- an amateur job from the original owner -- did not look right with the refurbished basement.  He essentially provided the banister at no extra charge. The project came together very well -- the recessed lighting, flooring, walls, crown molding, painting -- all were completed within the timeline and budget we agreed on. <br /> I believe Nafi and his team are dedicated professionals. They do quality work; they are ethical. They do not want to sell you something you're not interested in, or over charge. They give you honest work -- and provide quality -- at reasonable prices. They have my highest recommendation. <br />

Nafi Saafi, the owner, is a great guy and a very honest and talented renovator.  He gave a very quick estimate and stuck with it and always went the extra mile to make sure I was happy.  To be honest, I put an awful lot of trust in him to make some choices because I was very busy with work and this is not my final home so I wanted it to be very nice but maybe not the highest end job in the world. I wanted a mid-range upgrade and Nafi understood me completely and made excellent recommendations and, as necessary, choices on his own that I was always pleased with.  Actually, it ended up looking pretty high end after all.  Nafi's estimate was about $10K less than the other one I received (it was a little hard to find available contractors during my time frame, so I was lucky to get two estimates). His original estimate was kind of sketchy compared to the detailed one I got for a much higher price but I decided to trust Nafi and was very glad that I did.  He always had 3 or 4 people on the job and he himself was usually there as well -- that is how he was able to complete my job pretty quickly.  They were very good at clean-up and were very respectful of the condo rules about work hours and keeping common areas clean, etc.  There were no damages.  I highly recommend Home Design Center and Flooring!! <br />

I have a very creeky and spongy wood floor. It is ridiculous. <br />

We have been using HDC for approximately 10 years.  Nancy and I have always been amazed at the quality of work and their competitive pricing.  They always seem to know exactly what we are looking for which tends to simplify the whole process.  I am a Realtor and never hesitate to suggest my clients use HDC either to get their house ready for selling or after they have purchased a new home. <br />

I have been very happy with their services. They are very courteous, professional and fair . The job was done on time and the result was amazing To this date anybody that comes to my home, the first thing that gets the complement is the hardwood flooring. . He was very attentive, the owner of the store was a great guy. I asked him to come back because of separations in the wood and he returned my call, I have been too busy to call him back. He was very handy, hands on, and a nice guy.

We had a tree fall on our house during the June 29, 2012 Derecho, taking <br /> our roof and side wall off the house -- catastrophic.  We have a great <br /> insurance company -- USAA -- and we worked for many aspects of the <br /> repair with a contractor they recommended.  But weren't satisfied with <br /> their approach to the re installation of our hardwood floors and our <br /> lower level carpeting.  On a hunch, I went on line and found a company, <br /> Home Design Center & Flooring.  We were desperate to move in to be <br /> home for Christmas, which meant that we needed new hardwood floors <br /> throughout, and 160 square yards of carpeting... We called Home Design, <br /> and LITERALLY 3 hours later the owner was in our home, expressing <br /> compassion and concern, and leaving us with an estimate that was less <br /> expensive than the original estimate, for much more service and <br /> product.  Honestly, we were a little sceptical, but we took a chance <br /> because we really liked the owner, and appreciated his swift <br /> response,..  We went to spend Thanksgiving on Martha's Vineyard with our <br /> kids. and came home to a miracle -- floors installed impeccably, <br /> carpets laid beautifully, house ready for move in.  I can't stress <br /> enough how much we felt like we were being served by "friends" -- hard <br /> working, dedicated, talented, and top-notch professional friends- who <br /> were determined to help us realize our ambitious objective of "home for <br /> the holidays."  Top notch, artistic, committed to customer service, all <br /> around outstanding one in a million contractor! <br />

Wood flooring was installed very well and very quickly.  The carpet is nice quality and the pricing is good but have had issues with wrinkles.  In fairness, Home Design Center has come back twice to stretch the carpet and fixed the issues at no cost to me so they stood behind their product.  I just wish it had been stretched more in the beginning.   <br /> <br />

They did a fantastic job on repairing my carpets!! I'd been emailing around looking for estimates for fixing 2 large holes in my carpets from taking out a wall between rooms. I had some remnant carpet and padding left over, but could not for the life of me cut them perfectly to fit and have them look professional. <br /> <br /> HGD&F gave me a great price quote of $175, they were there, in and out without any fuss the next day. <br /> <br /> Would highly recommend again, they were fast, reliable and affordable, loved the service, thank you very much HDC&F, you made my week!

Absolutely highest recommendation - this was a very positive home improvement experience, and I found this to be an honest and trustworthy company. Nafi Saafi & his crew installed hardwood floors and new carpet throughout my house, which was a week-long project. They were extremely professional, and I will definitely hire them again for flooring, bath and kitchen projects. They said they would make it easy for me, and happily, they delivered on that promise. <br /> <br /> They were punctual, careful, polite and very detail-oriented. Nafi sold us the carpeting and flooring as well. His recommendations were very helpful and in excellent taste, and were well-priced, high quality products. He came to the house after I had selected carpet and flooring samples, and he brought them with him so I was able to compare samples onsite. They cleaned up after themselves (sweeping, vacuuming and removing tools, old carpet and other trash) every day at the end of the day, and they were very careful with our furniture and possessions, which they had to move in and out of each room as the installation progressed.  <br /> <br /> One example which shows their detail orientation - they put in a wooden threshold separating a newly-carpeted room from the new hardwood hallway. It looked fine to me as they started to nail it in place, but on their own initiative they stopped and remeasured and said they thought it was a little too high and didn't' quite fit tightly enough, so they pulled it up and re-cut it so the carpet and hardwood were flush and perfectly accommodated the door. (They also shaved the bottoms of doors that needed to be adjusted for the new flooring, and were also careful with that.)

I was a bit apprehensive dealing with a new contractor, but Nafi and his crew did a great job. I felt like he paid attention to detail and was thinking through the issues and proactively anticipating next steps. Would use again.
