Homemasters completed work on my roof recently - deep cleaning, shingle work, and a new skylight. Alex and Emilio communicated promptly about everything, including arrival time and scope of work. They did a great job, and cleaned up the roof, and the surrounding area. I plan on working with them again in the future.

They were on time and detailed both in their work and their clean up. They were willing to give us a quote and wait for us to save the cash for the payment. It took six months, but they honored their bid. I would definitely recommend them to others.

I hired Home Masters again since they did such a great job for me last year. I had them replace our garage roof, side the garage, replace a small deck, paint the garage and greenhouse and install gutters on the greenhouse. They did excellent work. I especially recommend David, Hugo, and Emilio for their level of attention and detail and care about doing an excellent job the entire time. Thanks Home Masters!

Dave's crew (Rob, Jacob, Lauren, Jordan, Jacob) was awesome! We had a very worn out old exterior of a house and now it looks nearly brand new! These guys are very professional, well skilled, and efficient. I was bracing myself for lots of hidden rot as the existing siding was very poor quality and beat up in many places. Rob was especially helpful in dealing with the discovery of some rot and missing roof bracing. He and the others did extra investigative work to determine best course of action at a very reasonable price. The crew always communicated well, did extra little things, and really made sure we were happy every step of the way. I plan to hire them again next year to do some critical work on our garage. I highly recommend Homemasters!

The repair work this year was excellent. The workers arrived at expected time and did a great job. Work was done on roof level showing me photos of findings ( I had a very hungry woodpecker) and advised progress of work. Bob and Jacob were professional, friendly and had skills for the job. I will call them again if needed.

Split bid into the 3 parts we requested. They did the most difficult piece of the work. Done well. Done timely. And they cleaned up meticulously each day. Highly recommend and will be using them for yearly maintenance.

Of the five roof cleaning companies, this is only one of two that responded and made an appointment. They had an excellent quote, without any scare tactics or high pressure(pun) methods. The representatives called back, quickly scheduled an appointment and quote. Fast and Professional. They do not schedule work out more than two weeks in advance, so don't bother calling until you are ready for the work. Once you are ready, they sign an agreement and let you know when they will be out.  <br /> They did call before coming, but I was unable to answer the phone, and they did start work on our house before I confirmed, but we only missed them by 15 minutes, so that would be the only mark against them. Otherwise, the two guys ran water hoses from our house and used their low pressure, high volume sprayer to clean the entire roof in about 5 hrs. they worked from one end of our ranch to the other end. And then they finished up with the polycarbonate attached patio roof.  They did a FANTASTIC JOB! Our roof looks like it is brand new, instead of the 25 years old that it is. To be fair, our roof was in excellent shape, with minimal moss, but there was black stains, and just general dirt. After cleaning the roof, they cleaned out the gutters, and used a combination of the pressure washer + air blower to tidy up the debris that had been sprayed from the roof. There was even a little debris on our neighbors house, and they cleaned that up (which really made our neighbors happy). We had a few loose nails on the gutters, which they hammered in.  <br /> I was really very pleased with the work, and I think even the two guys were impressed at how well it worked.  They definitely had some pride in the execution of their handiwork, and it was well deserved. I definitely recommend going with this group,  and the deep cleaning roof service was well worth it.  <br /> <br /> <br />

They went onto the roof and cleaned off the moss, also cleaned the gutters.

Everything went well. The team performed all the items quoted on bid. <br />

From the time of the sale to the time of the start of the job, it was about 8 weeks (later than I had hoped), but the crew was timely and did the job without creating issues for my tenants. The price was more than fair and they matched a competitor's rate. <br />

We had purchased a special deal of 3 hours of handyman service for $125. The company ended up rescheduling at least twice which was an inconvenience. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> I had emailed our list of tasks to the handyman prior to him coming out. He was able to do about half of the projects.  <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> After he and I went through the list, he completed the jobs he could. He then ran out and purchased the lumber to complete the stairs and fence projects. Our stairs look great as does the fence.  <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Actual work time was less than three hours but he did get materials for us and  half an hour of work time was deducted for drive time.  <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> He did great work and we would use him again.

We hired them to replace 7 boards under our eaves that had dry-rot. They replaced 5 boards, but damaged 2 others under the eaves as well as splitting 2 boards in our dining room. Wanted us to pay $7000 to repair damage and replace metal roof with shingles. Two-man crew didn't seem to be experienced with metal roofs. <br />

They did a good job, reattached a drain where it had come apart at the roof,and did even more than was expected in that he also cleaned the gutters on the deck without an extra charge. Our only complaint was that he didn't come on the day scheduled, nor did anyone call to let us know he wasn't coming. I called them, after waiting all day, and an appointment was made for the next morning. Again, he didn't come at the scheduled time but did show up that afternoon and did an excellent job. I will use them again, unless they continue being late for their scheduled appointments. <br />

It was horrible. They just left and unfortunately, the experience was not a good one. They just came today after I had called them actually three separate times to place my appointment. The first time that I called, they stated that somebody would get back to me. They sent somebody out and the gentleman was very nice but unfortunately, he was a salesman. He was trying to sell me a new roof. Our house is only 11 years old and for him to truly spend about 30 full minutes explaining how I needed to get a new roof was I think just kind of an overboard situation. I definitely would have agreed to the conversation if I had a home that was built in the '70s or '80s, but this is a newer home. He gave me some quotes because we had also asked for some additional items such as how much it would cost for the siding to be power washed and their price for it was just extreme. Our home is very small. We have a less than 2,000 square foot home and they stated that to power wash the entire thing would cost $750 and it was just unbelievable. We went through the home maintenance package that we had purchased and it was just one of those situations where the only way to really get them off was through an additional $195 called a scrape and broom so we just said, "Well, that is okay. We will just go with what we paid for with Angie's List." So he said that he would have somebody call me to schedule and I never heard back from them so I called their company. The lady that I talked to was very nice. She stated that she would have somebody call me back and they never did. Probably a week or more went by just because of a busy schedule and whatnot, I called again and unfortunately I kind of spoke to a very rude man by the name of Jerry Williams who was their project manager. He kind of answered the phone, "Hello?" And I said, "Yes, I am waiting to make an appointment." "Okay, I can get you at 10:00." He was just very abrupt. I was like, "Okay. Do you need any information?" "No, I have it." "Okay." So then, today came and around 10:30 AM, I was like, "Oh, they still have not showed up." So, I went ahead and called and the lady that answered stated that the appointment time is actually 10:00 to noon. So I said, "Okay. Well, that was not mentioned to me but that is fine. I will call back if they are still not here after noon." So, 12:30 came by and I probably did not actually end up calling until almost 1:30 just because I worked and when I talked to the lady, she was very nice and her name is Michelle Sanders and she said that she was waiting for Jerry to get off the phone because she did not want me to have to wait anymore. And so, he comes on the phone and he was very stern and very abrupt and just says, "Yes, they are at a home in North Portland." And I said, "Okay. Well, it is 1:30, almost 2:00 and I have not received a call or anything." "Well, they will be there in about 30 minutes." And I said, "Okay. Well, could somebody call me if they are not going to be?" He stated that he already took my number. Well, they probably showed up maybe close to 3:00 and it truly took 30 minutes and it was for something that was supposedly listed as their VIP package for $250 and they blew out our gutters with a blower. They put some chemical on the roof and they were done. They did not give me a slip or anything. They just gave me a piece of paper that was almost like an advertisement when they left and they were gone. I have not worked with a company like them in a very long time which was very odd because I know that they have actually fairly high ratings on Angie's List. I think I just hit a sour note with them. I do not know how or why but I kind of got the short end of the stick on this one. We did not pay more than $250. We declined the other options that they gave because they were so extremely high priced. So, we did just go with the $250 but it says in the coupon that they would reinstall loose nails and replace any missing nails. What was funny was that they would only do ten of them and I did not hear any hammering or anything so I am going to assume that either the roof looks great and they did not have to but I do not know. For $250, the experience that I went through and what they did I probably could have just went up the ladder myself and did it. They never told me the condition of my roof. They just stated that there was a lot of moss which we knew because we live right behind a greenbelt which was actually why we asked for the service. They also stated that we would need to get somebody out here to have the moss come off and they stated that the stuff that they put on the roof would make it turn brown and come off on its own but otherwise, they did not mention anything about the roof which was very ironic since the first gentleman that came out tried to sell us a new roof without actually even seeing it. I think that the only thing that saved them was the lady in the office. She was extremely helpful and could really only do what she could do. She was very apologetic when I had called back twice in one day. Unfortunately, when you have to call multiple times, when you get a sales speech, when the installer is over three plus hours late and nobody has called you and you physically have to call in and then the work that is being done is certainly not worth $250, I have to rate it very very low. I cannot quite see what they have done up on the roof so I can only tell with the amount of time that they spent.

It went well. I was disappointed with the fact that in the verbiage it said, "Handyman for 6 hours" but they sent two people for 3 hours. They did a few projects around my home and the work was fine. There were no additional charges beyond the big deal amount. The service went well. They were reliable and were able to do the work confidently. There was no, "No, we can't do that."

We had to call them back because of severe leaking of the gutters <br /> that apparently were missed the first time. We had to call them <br /> repeatedly just to get a balance bill (once the Angie's List coupon was <br /> applied). <br /> Overall, poor communication and uneven delivery of <br /> services contracted for. We would neither use them again, nor would we <br /> ever recommend Homemasters for anything. <br />

It was great! He worked quickly and did good quality work. <br />

I attempted to make an appointment with the provider and was told someone would come out to estimate the job. This took a while but did happen. This individual spent time with me and attempted to sell me more expensive and ongoing services. No problem. I understand that this is part of getting a and quot;dealand quot;. The work order was written for gutter cleaning and moss removal. The gutters were cleaned at a time when I was not at home. No other work was done. I called the provider and let them know that the moss removal had not occurred. The original salesman had stated that the moss would be sprayed AND removed. When I called to discuss this, the situation was handled well. They sent someone out to take care of the problem and he was very apologetic and respectful. The moss was sprayed, and although no one ever actually removed the moss, I am satisfied with the outcome. I just have to say that the company did remind me that this is typically a job that would cost $500.00. I am certain that is a competitive price. But it is exorbitant in my opinion. <br />

They were thorough and explained everything they were doing in detail.  I had a long list of projects and assumed they wouldn't get through them all, but they did!  Quick and efficient.

We had no issues with gutters after the work. They were very professional and even though they said up front that since the roof is getting old and the maintenance hadn't been done for a long time it would probably need more work done soon, however they did not pressure us to do anything more now. They did a great job with what was done. <br />

The roofing experience went as expected. They did a great job laying down the roof. We also had new gutters installed. They did a good job installing the gutters. Here is where the disappointment came. The owner came to our house, which was amazing. We talked about what all we needed. We needed the trim of our painted, including the shutters and front door to match. He discussed what a hard time he would have matching the paint since the sun had faded it (we have a blue trim with blue gutters). Then he took a look at the gutters and said that they should be replaced anyway, and this would make it very easy for them to match up. I confirmed with him that they take care of the paint and matching it up, and he reassured me that they did. We discussed painting the trim, which covers the front and sides of our house, painting our shutters, and painting the front door. Everything sounded perfect, and we were offered a great price. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The problem arose when the actual painter came out. He was given no direction on what to do, and told my husband to pick up about 3 gallons of paint. They gave him nothing to match the paint with, so my husband went to Home Depot and told them the color of the actual gutters (Tahoe Blue). Home Depot matched something up with what they thought would be the best match given that the painting company has now put this responsibility on us with nothing to match up. The color looked nothing like what we were wanting, but again, it's not Home Depot's fault. My husband called the company and explained to them how we were told the paint was covered and how we are not responsible for mixing it (I would understand us doing that if we had just hired someone off of Craig's List, but this is a company that paints). The guy in charge said that the customer is responsible for getting this. My husband told them that they gave us nothing to match it with, so they gave the painter something to go to Home Depot with with my husband. Fortunately, Home Depot took back the old paint and remixed up a new batch. The painter only painted the trim on the front of the house. My husband had to hold the ladder for him the whole time. He then said that the shutters and front door was not part of the deal. My husband called the man in charge once again, and he said that we would have to pay more to get that done. He also said the trim on the side of the house was not part of the deal either (even though he agreed the price we were quoted was high for all that was done). We then tried to call the owner who had originally come to our house. He was out of the country for a while, so we were never able to get that straightened up. The man left in charge was going off the contract, which only said paint trim. The moral of the story here and a big lesson learned here is no matter how the owner makes you feel and what he says he will do, make sure it is all written down. There was only one small line to put it all in, but make sure it is. I mean everything, including mixing and paint included, every inch that is supposed to be painted, how many paintbrushes are included, and how many painters will be there. You may have to help the painter by holding the ladder up for him if he comes with no help. We had to spend and extra $150 in paint from Home Depot, and they told us to get way to much paint for what they actually did. Now we have all this paint, but that is alright since we now have to find a painting company to paint the side trim, shutters, and door. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> So, all in all the roof looks great. It is a CertainTeed roof, which is a very good brand. It was a deal on Angie's List, and we are very happy with the outcome. The gutters look great as well. The only part of the roof that upset me was the fact that they did not want to lay down new plywood. The whole reason we got a new roof is we were told by another roofing company that we had water damage on 2 sheets of plywood (one by the fireplace and one by the vents). My husband had to get on the roof and point it out to them as they were starting to just re-shingle. They said it was just a dark spot and would be fine. They didn't want to lay down new plywood, and we could only get them to lay down one sheet. I guess it's possible the other roofing company was making that up, but since this was the reason and there were dark spots, I wanted it done. For the deal that we got on the roof, I would recommend the company. I would also recommend them to replace your gutters. The gutters are bigger than our previous ones, which allows the water to drain better. I would not recommend them to come paint your house. Stick with a company that just does paint, and make sure that every little thing is included in the contract, even if the owner himself tells you everything they will do. Communication was an issue, and if its not in writing, it never happened. This was a big lesson that we learned as we are new homeowners and never had to spend so much money on house before. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I hate to sound completely negative about the company, but I did want the painting and communication experience known so that others can have a better outcome. Again, for the roofing and gutters, I would use them again. I would not use them to paint something else on the house. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
