Please read this review before you hire Nate Bar and Home Revolution for any project. I made the mistake of reading other negative reviews (and Nate's responses) but believing that the client was partly at fault. Please do not make my mistake. I contracted Home Revolution to perform a light rehab on my home that is being converted into an income property. Because my wife and I are occupying the property at this time, I had an opportunity to assess Nate's work from both an investor and homeowner's perspective. I was extremely disappointed on both fronts. From an investor's POV, Nate does not do a very good job of communicating project updates or even if his guys will be showing up on any given day. Nate has a habit of outlining a project plan, but later changing the plan or cutting corners on the process that he outlined at contracting (e.g., promising to remove cabinet door for painting only to poorly paint them while attached). From a homeowners standpoint, Nate and his team showed an utter disregard for my home. They consistently left food wrappers and soda cans scattered about, left hazardous materials exposes to me and my pregnant wife for weeks, and I caught one of his guys reaching into my cabinets (without asking first) and helping himself one of my personal utensils to eat a snack actual. Overall, Nate did a horrible job of supervising the work of his team and provided absolutely zero quality control over the work. There are several DIY-quality rookie painting mistakes (see photos) that Nate never even noticed. Worst of all, Nate himself (not his team) took a molded piece of drywall that he removed from the shower and left it (along with the rest of the demoed shower) sitting in my living room for 2 weeks! To make matters worse, Nate exhibited below average organizational skills in that he did not write much of anything down and had a hard time remembering the work that was contracted, how much he agreed to charge, and what specific material SKUs that had been provided numerous times. If that were not bad enough, I really have to question his skills as a contractor or even a handy-man because he attempted to install my LifeProof LVP flooring in the opposite direction of the locking system and I personally watched him botch the installation of a shower liner (while he was having a non-work-related private conversation on speaker phone). I don't feel that a someone claiming to be a GC can afford to be unskilled at his craft, a poor leader of others, and provide a substandard poor customers/client service. You have to pick a lane. If the details above were not enough to make you log out, the worst aspect of Nate's services was his extremely unprofessional nature in dealing with customer questions and requests. On the week 2 of the project, Nate only sent 1 guy to paint baseboards and trim. I had just paid Nate his first 33% draw and wanted to make sure we were still on schedule. I asked him "when you have a chance, can you give me a breakdown of what will be completed this week?" Without texting or calling me, he drew up paperwork to cancel our agreement, signed it, scanned it and emailed it to me. This was apparently because I was being too difficult, and asking too many process-related questions. I was shocked, but was able to talk him off the ledge and convince him to honor our contract and complete the work. This extremely rash and emotional reaction was a major red flag. Fast-forward 3 weeks and the date that Nate promised the work would be completed had come and gone. Nate and his team were nearly 3 hours late to the job site and i was unable to hang around long enough into the afternoon to let them in, so he suggested that they get an early start the next day. Nate then mentioned that he thought that there was only 1 day of work left. I didn't think that was realistic because there were a number of touch-ups that had apparently gone unnoticed by my contractor or his team for weeks. When I brought these needed touch-ups to Nate's attention, we called me a narcissist, told me how ugly my home was and began to tell me all of the things he was not going to do for my project. At this point, I told him that I was sorry that he felt that way, but that if he wasn't willing to complete the project in a quality manner, then the project was essential over for Home Revolution. This was a stressful experience for me. Nate charges general contractor pricing for extremely lazy and substandard under -the-table work. He is a walking contractor horror story. Avoid Home Revolution like the plague!!!

My grandmother's balcony patio door came off the hinges due to the high winds and we were having a hard time finding someone to fix it. Nathaniel came by and saved the day! He arrived timely, quickly diagnosed the problem, and got to work. His general construction background allowed us to discuss some additional projects and they've already arranged for him to come back to do some work in one of the bathrooms. Would absolutely recommend him.

His work was terrible!!! Painting was very sloppy, didn't remove switch plates or lights. Got paint on everything. Dry wall work was a mess. All the dry wall work that was done had to be tore out and redone by another contractor. I ended up repainting the walls he did. Never got to the drop ceiling because I was afraid he would make a mess of that too. He wanted a down payment of 1900.00 before he started the job, stupid me witch I payed him. Ill never see that money again plus the wast of materials and paint. I'll never use Angie's List again!

"Glad we took pictures and we uploaded them in our gallery, with your.name attached to it. Nothing was wrong with the drywall installation EXCEPT we actually allowed you to force us to use torn out, previously nailed 1x3 wood. Every one else uses 2x4s.. 1x3's Its actually against code, how can you screw 2 inch screws into wood that's only 1 inch thick??? But we tried to work with you, and no other company would remove nails from previously used wood (very thin wood 1x3 used for ceiling tiles only) and install heavy drywall on it. I enclosed a pic in the gallery of the wood also. The drywall still looked Good though (See gallery pictures with your name attached) I doubt very seriously that it had to be torn out. Only because you demanded Out of code framing, being Cheap, not wanting to buy new Wood ( 2x4s) You recieved $1900 worth of work, and this is why we ask for such down payment because we removed nails form 50 strips of thin 1x3 wood that was for ceiling tile, then used it for framing and attaching Heavy drywall to it (Which no other company would ever do for you, because its Weak framing, and not for drywall. Then we attached drywall to it, and the screws was even CRACKING the wood because 1x3 is too thin, so we did the best with what we were given and it still looked standard and labor rate applied! We did have a trainee there who we was training how to paint and he did make errors, you stated you didn't want him back to do painting but he was only allowed back to clean up trash so there was no reason to cancel. We were going behind him, finessing his work."

I have made several attempts to contact you regarding the unfinished work and contractual agree you have made on behalf of your company Home Revolution contacted you about the unfinished work and refund you stated you would send. I left you a message and now you are sending this. 1. Home Revolution did not install countertop they are still unfinished. 2. Home Revolution did not install flooring. 3. Home Revolution did not install the 1/4 round as described in contract 4. Home Revolution did not report to site on time nor as scheduled on three separate occasions 5. Upon arrival you and your associate or employee were not prepared with your tools and had to go to the hardware store to pick up additional tools 6. Home Revolution did not install sink. But only used former countertop, provided by resident, to act as template to cut out the sink basin hole. The drain and sink were pre-existing connections, with evidence to support and did not require any further plumbing or maintenance. 7. The countertop was not installed nor joined by Home Revolution, only placed on top of prefinished, already installed cabinets. No screws or glue was used to connect underneath. 8. Workspace left in disarray. 9. Subway tile was not installed nor grouted 10. Kick plate and side finishing panels were not installed 11. Cabinet hardware was not installed. I have Pics and statements from the previous contractor. Additionally the pics show that the countertop was just set on top of the pre finished & installed cabinets. Additionally, I have the messages and audio from you verbalizing discriminating and slurring hate/discriminatory speech toward my friend. This is a reminder that this is an attempt, in excess of 10 times to resolve this matter and get my refund for the work that you failed to perform/ complete on behalf of Home Revolution. Failure to resolve may result in legal action being brought onto you and your company, Home Revolution I look forward to resolving this expeditiously in a peaceful manner.

"1)First Day, [Member Name Removed]Sheltons Boyfriend was Sleep, and didn't answer the door so My worker and I took off to another site to work, only to be called back to his home. 2) Home was in Squalor,.Cluttered, but we still worked, and After noticing More Red Flags from these Customers,.We offered them their Down payment back, and we just Lose a day of work rather than deal with them. 3) He is on record saying he didn't want the down payment back and so after a second days work,.and taking note of more Red.Flags, I told him we're not coming back. 4) [Member Name Removed]Attempted to Defraud his own Bank attempting to get his funds reversed, (attempted theft of services) in which he Lost his Claim on grounds that he Lied 5) He also Attempted to defraud us by demanding work that wasn't in the estimate Nor on his initial request that's still on Angies list. 6) We we're working behind another Contractor who also abandonded him, and we see why, we learned the hard way, by Ignoring his red flags. 7) This is the worst experience we've had here, this customer is very Impudent and Scheming. 8) His first review was 2-14, and he keeps deleting the review and Reposting it thinking it will drown out a recent Good review. This is a grown person with Childish and Spiteful behavior"

November 2018 - Changed PVC pipes and sealed opening around pipes leading to the outside of house which caused exhaust from furnace to be drawn by into the house. A high level of carbon monoxide was recorded by Fire Department and People’s Gas. Home Revolution made the repairs within 2 hours of my phone call and the furnace was checked and restored to use.
