Called at 820 in the am they had the dryer fixed and running by 1030 am. Fast knowledgeable I will use them again and refer others to them

Jim McRae showed up within the time expected. He was very friendly and professional. He tested the dryer for possible problem and very quickly told me the issue was the vents were clogged with lint causing the dryer to work inefficiently and ruining the coils. He warned that while he would clean the dryer and replace the coils the problem would only be solved when the vents get professional cleaned. He took apart the front of the dryer, cleaned and vacuumed it, and replaced the coils. He also leveled the washer which has been making a lot of noise during the spin cycle. Jim recommended DryerVent Wizard and even gave me a coupon for them.

Jim McRae arrived on time and was very polite, He had a dog biscuit for my dog which I thought was great. He showed me what we can do in the future to prevent this from happening again. I really appreciated having someone local that I feel I can trust with all my appliance repair.

I called and left a message on Jim's machine about my problem. He called me back and asked me if I had stemmed the water flow and was prepared to explain how I could do that until he could come over. We set up an appointment for the next day. Jim was on time and had the problem fixed within 30 minutes. He was very professional and even cleaned up the work area. I felt the price he charged was fair, and, he has a great personality!. It is RARE in this area to find a good appliance mechanic who actually calls back and gives a 90 day guarantee on his work. I highly recommend Honest and Fair to anyone who needs an appliance repair. <br />

My food in the refrigerator and freezer were melted one evening when I returned from work. I called Jim's service and got his machine at 6:40pm. He returned my call within a half hour. He explained that he didn't do emergency calls but he cld come out the next which was sat between 11 and 3. The following morning he called me and said he had a cancellation and cld come earlier. He arrived shortly after we spoke, looked at my refrigerator problem explaining the whole time everything he was doing. After about 30-40 minutes he was done. Charged me 196.00 Refrigerator and freezer have been fine ever since. <br />

They came out and said they couldn't fix my dishwasher because it's too old. They charged me for the diagnostic, even though he had all the information before he came over. I had it fixed the next day by someone else.

"I would like to address this review on several levels. To begin with, this customer called for service on the 10th, I was there on the 11th. Customer said she had a Kenmore dishwasher, 6+ years old, not draining or washing well. What I found was a dishwasher from the mid 1990's, a 20 year old machine. The overall condition of the dishwasher was terrible.I determined a new motor and pump was needed. The replacement motor cost was $304.00, the service and technician time to repair would run $175.00. Putting this repair at a total of $479.00 plus tax. This dishwasher costs roughly $500.00, new. I advised it would not pay to fix. Any reputable repairman would have done the same, this machine was not worth repairing. I did charge for my service time. I charge $80.00 plus tax for coming out to your home and making a diagnosis on your appliance. This customer was not happy that she had to pay the service fee, even though she knew in advance it was due."

My washing machine had a water explosion all over my downstairs yesterday afternoon! <br /> I had contacted my usual service repair person who could not come to look at my machine for at least 10 days,despite the urgency of the matter.! I went to Angie"s List to find a vendor to get my washing machine fixed ASAP. I contacted another vendor on Angie"s List and he was unable to come out for at least 5 days! Jim responded quickly to my voice mail and arranged to come out the following morning! <br /> Jim was amazing! I am so grateful for his prompt response for service! I explained my plight,and Jim rearranged his schedule to come the NEXT DAY to fix my washer. <br /> Jim was friendly,prompt and professional.He identified the problem quickly,made the necessary repairs and charged a reasonable price. I would not hesitate to use Jim's services again and would recommend his services highly. <br />

He came to my house to look at a microwave oven that was not heating the food. He said he thought he knew what the problem was, but could not guarantee that he was right. That's okay, but he charged $85 plus the cost of the part (over $200). If he were wrong about the part I would have to eat the cost. He left parts of the microwave disassembled and it took several phone calls for him to tell me that he wasn't sure. While I don't expect a repairman to be 100% right 100% of the time, he didn't leave me with a sense of confidence that he knew what he was doing. <br />

This is the 2nd time I used HFAR for appliance repairs. Both times I was very satisfied with the response, workmanship & friendliness of the company. The problem was repaired correct the first time with no sales pitch. Will call next time I need repairs. <br />

We called Honest and Fair at 8 p.m one night after finding wet floors in our laundry room. The owner called back first thing the next morning and arranged to have someone come by that afternoon (which was convenient for me). He came right on time, took apart the washer, and found the problem "pin hole" in a hose. He temporarily patched it so that I could still use the washer while I waited for the new hose to come in (expected wait 3 days). I was happy when I got a call that the part came in overnight and he was coming back the following day. He arrived- again right on time- changed the pump, and it was fixed quickly (about 40 mins). He was professional, knowledgable and friendly. I rated A for just about all areas; the only B I gave was for price. The price was still good and fair, however the $20 hose cost a total of $183 to put in when all was said and done after the $80 "service" charge and the $70 in labor. <br />
