HONEST FENCING

Gordon Poster charged me $2500.00 for materials and labor. He used inexperienced, unsupervised laborer for the install of the wooden fence. He started on one section of the fence, went to another section and started working on that section, stopped and went to a completely different section and started working on this third part. He did no measuring, did not use a plumb line, no jig was used for picket spacing. If a gap was too small for a picket, he would rip a picket down in half and nail it or nail a picket over the gap. This install was completely unacceptable. I tried for over 3 months to get Gordon Poster back over to make the corrections. All I got was promises and lies. I filed a lawsuit in my JP Court. On October 04, 2017, I won my case, although the Judge awarded me only $500. Gordon Poster confronted me and my wife outside the courtroom very irate then in a loud voice asked me how I wanted to get paid. I told him, "Send me a postal money order". Gordon Poster has not sent the funds, although I called him once the first week of November and he said he would send the money on Thursday or Friday. Almost 2 months past the trial date, I still have not received the $500. Just another one of his LIES. His promise to pay does not hold water. I am still waiting. He also did a lot of lying to the Judge. I do not trust Gordon Poster and I hope any prospective does not put their faith in him, either.

The owner came by the same afternoon I called to give me a free estimate and he had someone who was able to start the next day. It just took a few hours for a couple of workmen to do the job although several handles on their post hole diggers were broken digging in our hard, hard Texas soil. It took less posts than were originally estimated (and was the amount I paid) and I was promptly refunded the difference. The folks I dealt with at Honest Fencing were very nice and always returned my calls. If they didn't know the answer to a question I had, they would find out and call me back instead of BS me. I liked the fact that they were honest and up front about everything. Plus their price was good!

They came on thurs. and installed the metal posts. Then they came back on Fri and installed the fencing. It looks great ! I'm very happy with the job. <br />

Great from the start, friendly and professional on the phone and in person. He gave me a fair estimate and explained in detail how he was to repair it. It was calling for rain the next few days and he said he would call the first of next week to give me a days notice and he did just that. The work was done perfectly. It had to pass a city inspector because it enclosed a pool. <br />

Used nails that show streaks on the fence. <br /> They said their nails were high quality. <br />

Now that the fence is three (3) and four (4) years, I can report on the lasting quality. The 4-year-old job has encounted one (1) broken post which I have had to brace by installing another post next to it. <br /> The 3-year-old fence is almost as bad condition as the fifteen (15) year old fence that it replaced. Panels keep blowing off the posts mostly due to very bad warping of the stringers causing the nails to pull out. The panels are sagging horribly, again due to the warping of the stringers. <br /> I am so disappointed in how the fence has held up and weathered, I don't know what to do short of replacing the entire fence, which neither I nor my neighbors can afford to do. <br /> I have not contacted Gordon because I don't relish spending money even for repairs which would be major in nature. <br /> I am especially sorry that I referred this firm to other people who will probably be equally sorry about their fence in a couple of years. <br />

The most impressive part of the experience was the owner's attitude. When I told them I agreed with the price and wanted them to do the job he gave me a tentative date. Then there were some storms in the area and he was delayed a day or two being able to get to my house. He did call to let me know that he would be late. I was prepared to take time off work to meet him, but when he called and said the date he could be there I told him I'd get there an hour or two after they started. He told me that I didn't have to - for me to stay at work for my normal work day and if they were through before I got home he'd come back after I got home and I could inspect the work and pay him then. He said that customer service is very important to him and his actions proved it.

Many fence companies would not return messages for my small job. Mr. Poster is very friendly and was willing to take on this minor project. Work was not completed on day scheduled but within 2 days, and they reduced price and apologized. As Mr. Poster did not actually do the work himself, there were a couple small communication problems with his help, but overall it was a great experience and I would use them again.

I had some dogs that I were afraid my get out. I told the owner I didn't want a new fence. Instead, they repaired the fence. I'm satisfied. They knew what they were doing. They did a pretty good job.

The whole experience went great! From our first call to Mr. Poster being returned promptly, getting an estimate, to setting a more than reasonable date to come and do the work. Mr. Poster and his crew actually showed up EARLY--almost unheard of! We were very pleased with the efficient work and promptness, the price, and the friendliness. Great people to work with!

Gordon's crew of (2) arrived and began teardown, removal and rebuild of 48' foot of wooden stockade fence with new cedar 6' by 8' wooden picket fence panels. The old fence utilized wooden posts which first had to be removed in order to be replaced with metal poles inserted through welded metal boots (bolted to the concrete base) and then set in concrete through the existing holes. Gordon's crew did an excellent job on the project. The only problem area was on the original start date which ocurred several days later than promised due to Gordon being bitten on the hand by a neighbor's great dane that had jumped their fence on a previous job and also the addition of several days of rainy weather.

Gordon is still a pleasure to do business with. He is personable, professional, polite, and trustworthy. His crews are efficient and hard working. I hope I don't need any more fencing but if I do, he will certainly be the one to do it for me.

We found Honest Fencing on this site, located in Ft. Worth. He referred us to Jason at 4 Alarm who is more local to us in Dallas. At first, Jason was very responsive and his price was very competitive compared to other quotes we had gotten. Jason did our fence in the timeframe promised, and at first, we were very happy (included a one year warranty). After a few weeks, pieces of the wood on the gate began to fall off, and it looked terrible. I called Jason several times, left him messages, with no response over four weeks. I finally called Honest Fencing since he was the referral to Jason, and Honest Fencing immediately came out and fixed our gate, which as it turns out, was not done correctly by Jason. Honest Fencing was very nice, and did not charge us anything. We were not happy with Jason and would not use him again. But in the end, we were happy with Honest Fencing, and the gate they had repaired.

Gordon is a pleasure to work with. He communicates totally with the customer. He told me what he would do and when he would do it. His crew showed up exactly as promised, and did exactly the job that was promised. I was totally able to communicate with the crew, all of whom worked hard. Gordon did not try to collect any up-front money and told me to pay him when I was happy with the job. I was happy with the job about as soon as it was finished.
