Hoover Painting

Neil was very professional and explained the options we had with redoing our cabinetry. He was meticulous with our cabinets and hardware both with removal and installation. They look brand new and match perfectly with the cabinet boxes. Also, in regards to our basement, he brought a paint representative to examine our flooring since it had been sealed before incorrectly by a basement sealing company. He sealed our basement floor and it looks great.

Overall the work was great and our cabinets turned out exactly as we had hoped. By the time we scheduled Neil, he had a backlog of approximately a month and was able to begin the work toward the end of May. Neil was able to get our cabinet boxes painted in two visits. On his second visit, he brought some of the painted doors, and noticed that the color was a little more red than the boxes. He took the doors back, and worked with his paint supplier to get everything right, and was able to get door color matched perfectly. Yes, we had some extra time without cabinet doors, but in the end it was absolutely worth it. Everything looks great, and Neil was great throughout the process. We would definitely recommend Neil to anyone looking to have this work done in their home.

It went incredibly well! They arrived every morning by 8 AM and cleaned up every afternoon before leaving. They were meticulous and the consummate perfectionists. My trim and baseboards are different from my walls and it is perfect. They also repaired plaster where ever it was needed.

Neil came out and gave us an estimate along with recommendations on what shade of white would look nice. The first working day he came out to remove all of the cabinet doors, drawers (36 of them!) and a few shelves and he painted the boxes. He took the doors and drawers home to spray them (he hand-painted the boxes so we didn't have to shut down the room which was nice). while painting the doors he discovered a slight difference in the door paint vs the box paint (he showed me and honestly I would have never known) so he came back out and repainted the boxes. At this time he brought a sample he had done of the cabinet door antiquing detail (he hand-painted some of the grooves) so we could approve that. When he finished the cabinets he even went back and caulked areas and touched up our walls in spots that may have needed it. Even with the paint color issue, all the hand-painted detailing and Christmas coming up, he still finished ahead of schedule and we had a new kitchen for Christmas! He was incredibly professional throughout the process and an easy-going nice guy. It's been 4 months and I still walk into my kitchen and just stare at the cabinets because I love them so much now! I would (and have) highly recommend him to anyone looking to have any painting done!

It went beautifully. I can't describe how wonderful it all looks now. The work was done quickly, on time and on budget. And the clean up was perfect - everything was as neat and clean when he and the crew left each day as it was when he started. Neil asks our opinion and gives expert advice. He guided us along the way on big decisions. He is very easy to work with and the ultimate professional. He and his team were there when they said they would be, on time, every time.

Neil responded promptly to questions and scheduled us quickly. The work completed was very good, and the door looks so much nicer!

Neil was extremely courteous and professional. Because of the rain during that time he always kept me informed of his progress. He did some extra painting that I wanted after the original proposal without issue. Overall a great job. I would hire him again in a second.

Neil's attention to deal is excellent. Our basement stairwell and porches look wonderful. One of his associates was not quite as neat for one of our jobs, but Neil took care of the issues quickly and without question.

He was very professional. He did a very good, detailed job. He also did come caulking around my fireplace brick and put up some nice wood trim. UPDATE: paint does not match paint on loft walls as we desired. He insisted on using a different brand paint and it does not match at all. Everyone who visits notices this and asks why the different hues.

I should have written this review long ago-but here I am looking for a roofer on Angies List and decided sing Neils praises as I found him on Angies List last yr. Very few painters paint kitchen cabinets but he does! Lucky you.:) <br /> -He was responsive professional and did an excellent job . He was extremely neat and meticulous.  I was considering painting the cabinets myself but I wanted a quality job-and they look terrific 18 mos later-No nicks-easy to clean . He removed the doors and drawers-sanded them and painted them and then reinstalled everything with new hinges and hardware.  I wanted a little bit of a country look-and a lighter kitchen as the cabinets were solid dark wood -I debated over wall color for some time after the maple flooring and granite counters were installed and he was very patient-offering suggestions and trying out several swatches of color. He was very helpful through the entire process. The kitchen looks great -I would definitely hire Neil again- <br /> You wont be sorry! <br />

He was very responsive to our communications.  Got back to us quickly whenever we had a question before the work was done.  He had to move back our scheduled appt, due to the bad weather we had through June, and communicated that to us.  The team was at our house as soon as possible in early July, and came back a couple of days later to finish off the job.  <br />

Neil Hoover is hands-down the best contractor we have ever used - painting or other! <br /> Neil arrived on time each day, explained exactly what the process was and how long it would take.  He was always courteous, conscientious, and never left a mess. <br /> His passion and pride for his craft was obvious in the meticulous and careful job he did in painting our 1920's kitchen cabinets.  Because we went from surface mount to partially concealed hinges, several cabinet doors needed to be planed, and all doors rehung with the new hinges.  Neil did a beautiful jog...all doors are even and close nicely.  <br /> We chose to paint our solid wood kitchen cabinets rather than reface with laminate or veneer, and it was definitely the right choice with Neil Hoover Painting. <br /> Thanks Neil! :) <br /> <br />

Did great job, cleaned up mess and finished on time <br />

First of all Neil is such a professional. Neil has painted my master bedroom suite also front door inside and out.He recently took my dark cherry kitchen cabinets to a beautiful ivory. Decided after the cabinets I did not like the color on the walls. Neil made a suggestion to color and he was right on. Neil will also be doing my exterior this summer. I highly recommend Neil Hoover and I will never have anyone else do my painting. Neil is so good with color from now on honestly I will just have him pick my colors. If you want the best then Neil Hoover is the man to hire. The price I have quoted is for the Kitchen cabinets painting of front door and kitchen walls and ceiling repair and painting. <br />

He is excellent, I mean excellent. He has done 2 different jobs for me now and he has done excellent on them. He is here on time, done early, works fast and works neatly. He used excellent products. He gave me a good price. He's not cheap but he's not overly expensive. He took my front door that was weathered and he redid my front door and entrance way. It looked like brand new, it looked like a whole new door. He sanded it down and he put a marine sealer and varnish on it. It was excellent. Everybody that came to my door commented on how good it looks. Anybody that uses him will be satisfied. He wasn't cheap but I felt that I got every pennies worth of work.

<p>We are having extensive remodeling done and my contractor and I had our wires crossed about some cabinets we are installing in the bar area.  I thought he could paint them but he advised me that he was not comfortable doing that. I reached out to Neil after seeing his name on Angie's List and called him at around 8 p.m.  He called backed within a half hour, and said he would come out the next day to look at the job even though he was extremely busy.  I found out that he had driven over an hour and I  explained that I was getting a couple of other quotes.  That completely unfazed him and he said when I decided if I was going to use him he would come out and pick them up the cabinets.  I felt terrible (the weather was horrible and he had taken the time to come out so promptly) so I ended up giving him the job then and there and cancelling the others who were coming out later that day and I am so glad I did.</p> <p>He gave me a quote of $675 and said it would take him a couple of weeks.  When I pushed a little he said he would do them as soon as possible but explained how busy he was.  Believe it or not, he delivered in less than a week later AND charged nearly $200 less.  His workmanship is outstanding.</p> <p>We live in a suburb that is conceived as being upmarket and I am so used to being over-quoted by tradespeople, so this was extremely refreshing.   Not only is Neil honest but he is extremely pleasant as well.</p> <p>I would absolutely recommend him for any painting job - we are going to get onto his calendar for other jobs in the spring.  He is well worth the wait!</p> <p>Use him - you will absolutely not be disappointed!</p> <br />

Neil and his crew were efficient, punctual and knowledgeable. They were perfectionists, even correcting some flaws and imperfections that had been made by others in the past. The end result is amazing! <br />

We have been looking for a good painter for a couple years now.  Most that we have tried were sloppy or good but very expensive.  Hoover Painting is the fourth painter that we have tried in 2 years.  Neil's quote was very reasonable for the work that he did.  He was very neat and professional.  We will be using him again in the future when we need painting done. <br />
