It was corrected very fast and the garage door is behaving like when it was new. House of Doors is a great asset to our community.

Our garage door got stuck halfway down, found that one of the cables had slipped off the pulley at the top of the door opening.  Of course this happened on Father's Day!  I called a couple of places my husband had seen listed in our local paper, but neither answered the phone.  I decided to check Angie's list and noticed House of Doors was listed, with good ratings.  Between that and the fact that they are a local business, I thought I'd give them a try.   <br /> They answered the phone!  On a Sunday.  Fathers Day!  OK, it may have been an answering service, but it was an actual human being!  She took down the description of the problem and my contact info and said that someone would call me within 20 minutes. She also told me to call her back if I didn't hear from them in that timeframe.  Well, within 10-15 minutes I received a call.  We discussed the garage door issue and the "emergency" pricing and he said he could have someone at my home within an hour.   <br /> The technician arrived in less than 40 minutes and immediately diagnosed the problem.  The pulley at fault had become very loose with age (they're typically replaced every few years) and the other 3 pulleys weren't looking much better.  He suggested replacing all 4, but said the cable and all the other parts looked fine, just in need of grease.  He had new pulleys in the truck, so after acknowledging his warning that I'd be paying the emergency rate (would be about 1/4 of the cost on a weekday), I told him to go ahead and do it.  He had been able to get the door all the way down, using a winch, so I could have held off, but I just wanted it done.  In about 30 minutes or so, he had replaced all the pulleys and greased the track to keep the rollers from binding.  He even adjusted one of the cables to make the door level as it lowered, plus told me that the track needs to be lubricated twice a year.   <br /> All in all, a very pleasant experience, I would definitely recommend House of Doors.  I will also make sure that I mark my calendar to grease the track this fall!  If I ever need to replace the garage door or the opener, they'll be the first ones I call! <br /> <br />

I had some issues with how the door operated using the springs that were installed on a previous service call. I spoke with the owner who committed to do whatever it would take to get the garage door working properly an to do it at no additional cost to me. He sent out a top notch technician who explained the challenges that my door presented. The technician put a lot of thought into coming up with the solution to address these challenges. This included calculating the correct spring size for this specific garage door and then installing them. The technician also made a number of other operational adjustment and improvements. The garage door now works perfectly due to the technical expertise of the House of Door's technician. <br />    

We have been using House of Doors for our Garage door needs since we bought our house in 1995.  Our garage was built in 1953 so needless to say it's not in the best of shape.  They installed a garage door opener about 20 years ago (that was a housewarming gift bought at Sears), replaced the springs when they broke and just installed a new door opener, as the Sears brand had come to an end.  The new opener has battery backup and an outside keypad.  This will be great when the power goes out so we can still use the opener. Each time we have used them they respond quickly, are fair priced and their service is excellent. Each time the service was provided either that day or the next.  They know what they are doing and do it well. <br />

PRICE IS HIGHER BECAUSE THEY USE UNION LABOR, THE PARTS THEY INSTALLED WERE HIGHER QUALITY.
