They did excellent work in removing a large Bradford Pear tree that was planted too close to the house. The tree was growing very rapidly and the branches where too close to the house and neighbors garage.

Joe and his crew were great and my trees are looking good. It definitely worth it to have an arborist vs anyone with a tree sign slapped on their truck and Joe is very knowledgeable.

Fantastic! Joe and his crew are absolutely top notch and their workmanship is fantastic. I will only use Joe and his crew to trim our 25 year old oak trees. He is not your typical tree trimming company. They take their time and never chop up your trees. If you want cheap, fast, and horrible then don't hire these guys. I have never been disappointed with their work. When you call Joe always replies quickly and have never showed up late for an estimate or to perform work. They are not the cheapest, but the clearly are the best in my opinion

Joe is the most knowledgeable arborist I have ever talked to. He really knows all about trees and their growth habits. Joe can quickly see what is wrong with your tree and tell you the facts. His price is very reasonable and I have recommended him to my neighbors and they have used him as well.

Joe really knows his stuff! You can tell he’s very passionate about what he does and it shows in his work. We received a quote just before Harvey from another company that I found on Angie’s list. Needless to say, I could not find the guy’s info later as our home was flooded. I then called Houston ArborCare based on some recent reviews from folks in the neighborhood. I was so glad I did. His price was lower and he spent time talking with me about the health of each of my trees. Will definitely use him again in the future.

I contacted Joe on Tuesday about an unhealthy tree that I thought may need to be removed. He was able to come out that same day for an evaluation. Joe is professional and very knowledgeable about what he does. He explained the tree’s issues and what his company could do to help improve the health of the tree. We walked the yard and he patiently answered all of my questions about our other trees. He also went over some preventative maintenance that I can do to reduce problems and improve the health of our trees. Joe gave me an estimate for the work i requested, and the crew did the job on Thursday. I am very pleased with the results. I feel the cost was very reasonable not only because I am extremely satisfied with what was done, but also because I know that properly pruning large trees can be dangerous work. Could I have paid less to have someone “trim the trees”?....of course. I have in the past. However, I can see a big difference in having our trees pruned by someone who specializes in tree care vs. someone just trimming trees. Joe and his crew determine the proper pruning necessary for the health and appearance of the tree. BIG difference. I look forward to using this company again soon to work on my other trees.

His crew did a good job and cleaned up well after the pruning was done. The crew moved quickly from the tree across the street and pruned my trees while it was still good light. I would have him do work for me again.

We are having a garage built close to one of our 35 year old Oaks. I decided we needed a Arborist instead of just a tree guy. Joe came out to review to see if the tree would survive. He suggest we trim it back to withstand the shock (my words, not his). I happily paid the $75.00 evaluation fee. Joe told me the daily rate would be $1500. He said the tree in question would be done, a small Magnolia removed, four very small Crepe Myrtles would be removed and they could get at least 2 more trees off the house. The morning he was to start, there was possible rain in the forecast. I had rained the day before. He gave me the option of rescheduling, but that is right where the garage was being built and that crew would be there soon. They showed up at 10:30 in the morning with a chipper truck that was almost full. I knew it would need to be dumped before my job was done. I met with the TWO workers and talked about the tree that needed the work and why. I walked back out after a couple hours and saw they were in the wrong Oak tree. I told them that is not what I hired them to do. They moved to the right tree. I had a painter working at the same time. The painter said the guy on the ground spent most of his time playing with our dog! The guy in the tree did all the work. Joe came to get paid around 5pm. There were piles of limbs all over the yard, the guys stopped working and it was a mess! They worked on two trees, took down the Magnolia and one Crepe Myrtle. For $1500 we expected ALOT more. And, we think the work was butchering to say the least. We ended up paying $1200 as the two guys only worked 6 hours, at best. They took an hour lunch, while Joe ran off to dump the truck! It don't not end well. We had to hire someone to pick up all the debris left in the yard.

"First off let me apologize. I discussed everything prior to the job with the Mrs. when my men arrived, she change the scope of what we were to do. I let the her know that I wasn't comfortable about coming out to do a day rate on a rain day; especially since it had been raining really heavy the day before..the trees were wet and slippery, the yard was wet, also in the morning, by the time she let me know that she wanted us out definitely that day, my men had to drive from their residents to the shop, then drive to her house...we didn't have time to go dump the chipper truck, so I had to do it myself. I let her know that we would be pushing it to have a full day prior to arrival, she said "come anyway!" My men got to her house at 10:00 I did all I could do to make a happy costumer, except waving all my fees. I did prorate the job, then I also knocked another $210 off in hopes to make the customer happy, after the Mr. had commented about leaving me a bad review, if he had to pay even the prorated cost, the way I looked at it was, my name and a happy customer is more important then a couple hundred dollars...at the time the husband was happy with the arrangement and said that they would most likely do another day when it was sunny. I didn't think it was appropriate that after coming to a price agreement and loosing money on the job at no fault of me or my crew, but because a bad scheduling call on the part of the home owner, on a wet, cold and rainy day, that I should get a bad review on top of it all. I tried to contact the customer to discuss the issue, but she was uninterested in fixing the issue, also when it came to the type of pruning that we had to do on the tree to keep it from dying back. I gave her a full rundown of what needed to be done to the trees in order for them to come out well after all the roots that they were cutting while building the garage. We did two very large trees that have never been pruned properly we repaired improper work that was done in the past. And removed a 40 foot magnolia. I'm not going to name the company that she used in the past, but she was not familiar with the prices of a company with well-trained men. I pointed out all the things in her trees that had been done wrong in the consultation that I had given her, she had agreed and understood the way that they were done in the past was wrong. I did all the dealing with the Mrs. but the past work was overseen by the Mr, he came home at the end of the day and was expecting all his large trees to be pruned for $1500 to $2000 I told him we can do the same kind of work that was done in the past, but to fix all the trees and keep them healthy , it was impossible, so they both had very different ideas of what they wanted. usually when we do a daily rate, we get to the shop early go dump the chipper truck, if needed and work eight full hours sometimes a little over for a good cleanup. I'm the first to admit if I've done something wrong, please read my other reviews on day rates to see how it turns out under normal circumstances.. but this was totally unfair to me and my company."

Very well! I was given good information about why the tree was growing 'down', everything that was required to re-shape and help it toward better condition. Joe was prompt, clear, and professional. The work was done well, is beautiful, and everything was cleaned and carried away after. Thank you!

Called Joe who came out. We agreed on scope of project and he provided an estimate. We scheduled the work. Crew arrived, trimmed and pruned and then cleaned up all debris. Bill was the same as the cost estimate.

Joe came out and gave me some options after asking me about what I wanted done. Then, just a few days later, David came out with a crew to trim and clean out the trees. They did a fantastic job! Armando and his helpers were obviously experienced. When the job was complete, David walked me around to make sure I was happy. Then, the following day, Joe called to see if the job was completed to my satisfaction. I would happily and confidently recommend this company!

It went so well...we hired them again! The second time, they trimmed 6 Live Oak, removed a diseased tree they noticed, trimmed our flower beds, and staked an oleander for us. They are very knowledabe, dependable, communicate and listen well, very courteous, work exceedingly hard, and clean everything up really well. They did a great job both times! We would definitely use them again. Our neighbors must have liked their work too, because they have been hired all over our neighborhood! Mr. Chalker organizes and runs things very well!

They were excellent in every way. After removing 4 trees and 2 palm trees from the backyard, we were so pleased with them, we hired them again, for the following week, to trim 6 live oak trees in our front yard, trim and stake an out of control oleander, and trim the rest of our plants in our flower beds. Both times they were on time, very dependable, exceedingly knowledgeable, communicated well, had a wonderful crew that worked really hard, and left our front and backyard looking beautiful. We will definitely use them again! Obviously, many of our neighbors hired them, after seeing what a great job they did on our yard. Amazing job both times!

Houston Arbor Care has taken care of trees in my yard for over 10 years and I have always had a good experience with Joe's crews. On-time, knowledgeable, takes time to explain things, crews always clean up everything- even knock on neighbors doors to gather any debris that falls into their yards. They recently had to remove a 35-40' palm from my yard and did a great job considering the level of difficulty that required. Joe comes from a family of tree specialists and is passionate about his work. He also prices his jobs very fairly compared to others, especially considering his knowledge and experience.

The crew did an excellent job! Joe came to the house to get them started in the morning and explained everything that needed to be done, and he came by several times during the day to check on the progress of the work being done. Later that day, we asked Joe to fertilizer one of our front trees after he pointed out that it appeared to need it. All three of them worked until nearly 8:00pm and did a great job cleaning up our yard and driveway. We were very impressed with the great job they did, and will be calling Joe early next year to do some major pruning of our crape myrtles.
