<p>I met with John and I decided I wanted to have Solar Shades installed in my new townhome. I have balcony doors and a large bedroom window facing west. I needed extra coverage due to afternoon sun. He suggested we use either 3% or total blackout. He explained the 3% would only allow in 3% of the light. I thought this would be sufficient. He had a sample blind and I stepped out on the balcony and looked through the windows and it appeared ok. However this was late evening and the sun had already set. The blinds were installed. All seemed ok but when spring arrived and the sun became more intense, I found I had to put my hand over my eyes when sitting on my couch. How can this be happening? I emailed john and asked him to confirm if my blinds over the west facing windows were truly 3%. He confirmed. He contacted the manufacturer after I complained and I emailed the manufacturer a photo. He said they were 3% but I found out from him that a 3% blind will block 97% of UV light not total light seen via your eyes. I bought a light measuring device as I was curious how much light was getting through. I found that approximately 76% of the light was being blocked, not 97% as I was promised. I was never told that these blinds would only block 76% of visible light. If I had, I would have made another choice. Now I have blinds which I have wasted my money on. And I have a problem with severe sunlight that may fade my wood floors. I am extremely unhappy with this situation. John offered to put total blackout shades on the windows, but I have to pay for this. I am already out approx. 5000 for shades and valences. </p> <br />

THEIR PRICES WERE COMPETITIVE. THEIR SALES PEOPLE WERE VERY HELPFUL IN PICKING OUT THE WINDOW COVERINGS. THE DELIVERY OF THE WINDOW COVERINGS WAS IN THE TIME FRAME.
