He was hired to remodel my house. He always had a reason why whatever he was working on was more complicated than he originally thought. I had a real contractor look at several of the things Ron said would take longer than he thought, because of one thing or another and the real contractor stated he was trying to pull one over on me. Ron wasted a lot of time out in his truck on the phone, while he was supposedly on the clock. He never completed the work he said he would and the work he did complete had to be redone by a real contractor. The majority of work he was paid to do he did not complete. The sink he installed leaked and had to be repaired. Ron claims to be licensed, but after I did some investigating he is NOT LICENSED. He is not even listed as a sub under the license number he gives. He painted parts of my house and did some shoddy patch work. I was stupid and paid him up front before he did the work - needless to say he was very hard to get a hold of once I had paid him. He charges Contractor prices, but his work is less than satisfactory and he is not a licensed contractor. He is charming, but buyer beware.

The price was too high for what was done, and they still have not finished what they have started. They have not responded back also for finishing the work. They saved me some money with other work, but was not very professional.

Fair overall. Unfortunately fair isn't good enough and the delays were in-excusable.

Originally, I called to get a new attic ladder installed, some plywood placed over the 2 x 4's on the attice floor, and asked for a new opening in my ceiling. Placing the plywood floor was particularly complicated because there are water lines, electrical lines, and air ducts that ran along the attic floor or close to the floor. Also, we have trusses in the attic that make moving around difficult. Ron gave me an estimate which I felt was reasonable. As the work progressed, however, I realized that I had no way to turn on the attic light from the new opening and the lighting where the new attic floor was laid was rather poor in places. So I asked Ron to install additional lighting and a two-way light switch. While he was here, I also asked him to look at a GFI plug that kept tripping and to move a light fixture since the new attic opening would be placed where we had a ceiling light. He also had to build a new door for the attic and frame and paint it since the attic ladder I purchased did not come with a door. Ron moved the light at no charge to us because he felt it was very simple and would not take a lot of time. However, we expanded our request for flooring (to cover more attic area than originally thought) and with the additional electrical work, he brought in one of his electricians to ensure the work was performed properly. All went very well and he was quite accommodating as our request for his services continually expanded beyond the original scope. We worked together on pricing to ensure all was fair.

Ron was very knowledgeable and offered great solutions to problems. I highly recommend him, if he doesn't know how to do something he is quick to state so. When he didn't feel comfortable doing something he had great contacts for people that could. AN EXCELLENT RESOURCE!

After inspecting the building, the contractor agreed to do the necessary work at a fixed labor cost plus materials costs not to exceed $1,000. He generally arrived for work fairly late in the morning, sometimes closer to noon, and was still on site after dark (nearly 10:00pm on one occasion). He works slowly and carefully. Unfortunately, there were occasional misunderstandings regarding our expectations, and it seemed to take an inordinately long time to complete the work.

I called Ron at 9:30 am and he said he could meet me at the work site (my rental property) at 11 am. We met at the scheduled time. After he determined the extent of the damage he gave me estimates for materials and labor. After I agreed to his price he left to purchase materials. approximately 1 hour later he returned with the materials and started the work. The Work progressed smoothly and without surprises. He was finished by 6:30 pm. Ron was prompt, and he performed all work quickly and in a professional manor. I would not hesitate to recommend Ron's services as a handyman.

Ron did good quality work in installing the door. It was an all-day job, and I appreciated his willingness to return another door that I had bought (and changed my mind about) when he went to the store to buy more supplies for the job. After the job was finished, he said he would mail me an invoice. This is a rental property, so having the paperwork documenting how much I spend on the work is very important. I called to remind him numerous times over the last 3 months or so, and he keeps saying he will send it. The last time we spoke on the phone he was quite rude and, in my opinion, unprofessional. I was always polite and patient in asking him for this paperwork, but have given up on ever seeing it.

He was careful in determining just where safety bar could be installed for maximum strength. End result quite satisfactory. Just one slip-up and that was second trip to hardware store to get correct bar (length).

I terminated the job at the half way point due to several factors. Pace was very slow, he had not completed half the job by the time estimate he gave me. I noted he spent alot of time talking on his phone. I let him borrow my nail gun to speed work along. I looked out at him working at one point and noticed he was using MY nail gun as a hammer...pounding the fence boards down with the back side of the gun. I guess if that's the way he wants to treat his tools, its up to him. But, he definitely should not be treating borrowed tools like that. Quality of work was also in question. He did not follow my instructions on how I wanted the work done. It was a double sided fence and I asked him to match the height of the boards on the opposite side of the fence. He did not follow that instruction and there is up to a 3-4 inch variance in the board heights (one side to the other). He claimed he did not hear my instructions. Even if he didn't, it seems that logic would tell an experienced handyman that this would look wrong from the opposite side of the fence. Finally, I needed one additional redwood rail. He informed me that he would pick it up during his lunch break. When I checked on him after lunch, he said he hadn't picked it up as we had agreed. Apparently he felt it wasn't needed after all, however, he learned differently when he got to the point in the project where it was needed. Bottom line, it was not a disaster, but was a below average experience. Nice enough guy but was very slow, didn't listen very well. Would not use him again.

Ron returned my call quickly and gave me a price for the job over the phone and he scheduled the appointment. The appointment was for 8:00 am to 9:00 am, Ron arrived at 9:30 am, which I feel is reasonable. Ron had all the necessary tools, extremely polite and professional. He is a perfectionist and his work was excellent. I am asking him to return, to repair rodent damage to the dish washer, install a bar sink and possibly replace, a whole house fan.

Ron called and told me his hourly rate and came over the next day and gave me a estimate. The price sounded good and he said he could start the next day. So he and a helper showed up for work on time and did a days worth of work also the same on the second day. He gave me suggestions on the work I wanted done and was very helpful with his knowledge. I was dealing with a novice prior to Ron. I feel that he did a very good job and he is now starting to do some more work in another apartment for me. He has a couple minor finishes to do on the first job but those will be done in a timely manner.

Company owner installed sliding, mirrored closet doors. He was personable, professional, and a passionate perfectionist. He directed his clean-up worker to clean up debris as he worked. Day two: Owner called and told me name and time that his bathroom tile worker would arrive. Tile guy was friendly, courteous, and invited my suggestions on the pattern layout of the tile. He installed new toilet and purchased an additional wax ring needed. He left floor polished & area clean. Day three: Owner brought over his electrician. He was friendly, explained his work as he completed. He too asked my opinion on placement of lights before install. I had purchased wrong dimmer switch & light bulbs. He purchased correct items and refused my offer to pay for them. He said, "I've already been paid." He checked wiring in adjoining rooms before he left. Owner returned to inspect all phases of work done. He was attentive to details and appeared driven to inspire quality work only(!) from his team.
