Patrick came by to view my driveway and discuss the project (remove and replace asphalt driveway, remove and replace concrete apron beneath garage doors). Patrick gave a thorough explanation of the project. He clearly had knowledge of the materials and the process. During the process, he kept me informed about the project with great detail. When I agreed to hire him, he stated that I would not have to pay him a penny until the project was completed and I was fully satisfied. At the end of the first day of work, he asked for $300 to dump the old asphalt. I asked what happened to the "not a penny" explanation I had been given, and he just said he couldn't dump the asphalt without the money. I wrote him a check and he updated my contract to reflect the partial payment. It is both disappointing and upsetting that this contractor was not up-front with me in the first place. I have had to pay an advance of half the cost of a project with other contractors, so I would not have been surprised if Patrick had told me that he would need some money on the first day. As far as I'm concerned, he lied to me and I don't take that lightly. I view this as a POOR business practice. However, the reader can see by the number of stars chosen that we were happy with the outcome. So, as heads up to future customers of High Spec Paving & Masonry, ask him to be straight with you and tell you how much he will actually need in advance of the completion of the project.

This was a 9k job. A wrap-around driveway, After the job was finished aspects of the driveway started breaking up. They stated it would be fixed, it was not a problem. After numerous calls from my wife and myself, Patrick Berry turned up on 7/5/20 at noon. He assessed the damage/repair as had his brother John. He said it was a two-hour job and that he would be back in an hour to 90 mins. He never returned. We tried to contact him later that day and his phone went straight to voicemail. We have phoned him since, on other phones, he just hangs up. We are now in the process of taking them to court, thankfully we have attorneys in our family. If anyone is thinking of using this company do not, if you wish to see our driveway, you are more than welcome to visit my house. In addition to contacting Home advisor Directly, and taking them to court, we have put it out onto our social media, which is huge. However, we have asked our children to put it on their social media and asked them to ask their friends to post it and re-post it. I hope to make this viral. Being in the internet marketing business and the owner and publisher of a magazine, this experience with the company will be highlighted in all my magazines. It is totally wrong to pay good money, in this case, $9,000.00 for a job that is incorrect. We have embedded leaves in our driveway, this was down to them dropping oil on the driveway and not cleaning it up. When I asked them about it, they informed me it would get absorbed. It did, but leaves dropped onto the oil when it dried, hence we have leaves embedded in our so-called driveway. It has been an utter nightmare having to deal with these contractors. In addition, I have ordered signs which you will see displayed so people can call me. The signs will say: HIGH SPEC PAVING DO NOT USE CALL ***-***-*** If you know anyone who is in the field of exposing un-professional contractors please reach out to me. When you pay money to get a job done, you expect it to be done correctly. If for some reason something goes wrong, they should fix the wrong, without any hassle whatsoever. This has been a ridiculous time having to deal with Patrick Berry and his brother John. Stay away from them at all costs, it will just cause you nightmares.

They came out last year to repave my driveway and dont a fanatic job this week there removing my old back patio and installing pavers really friendly guys to work with

Poor quality work. I paid lot of money. They only promise things nothing gets delievered.

I would highly recommend patrick from highspecpaving and masonry such a nice and friendly guy to work with hard working man always on the job with hes team guiding them throw everything a heart of gold

Excellent workmanship. Arrived early and completed the project in a timely manner. All of the workers involved were courteous and friendly. I would highly recommend them.
