DH Fence & Remodeling

On July 11 of this year, Mark Reed (from DH Fence) came out to look at my yard take measurements and give a quote. I paid half as down payment $2,875 that day. Today is September 16 and I have not heard anything from them in over a month. The owner, Dave Hahn is ducking out too. Mark and Daves phones are disabled. They took my money and ran. I read reviews about DH Fence on other sites and they did the same thing to other people in my area, too. Looking at a class action lawsuit here.

Sales rep visited and quoted the job. Paid 1/2 down. Waited 2 weeks with no communication. Called and left voicemail but no response. The pro had decided to close the business and ignore me. But received a call saying another company is going to fulfill my contract with DH Fence. Still nothing yet but was told to expect a visit on 1 September. We will see how that plays out. Hope I am not out $950.00 for down payment.

This is a scam operation. They lied and promised and never showed up, and took my money.

After 2.5 weeks I called Dave, owner of DH Fence and Remodeling, to ask when they were gonna start since he cashed the downpayment and I had not heard from him. He was very rude, to say the least. Bottom line, DH Fence, and Remodeling went out of business, and without saying a word to me, he transferred everything to someone else who is just starting out and not yet LLC.

Absolutely would not hire DH fence and remodeling even if it was free. Never starts or finishes the job on time but he certainly takes your money. We signed a contract with Dave on the 30th of june 2020 with a start date of no later than the 10th of July 2020 but the start date was delayed with several excuses people quit fired people employees sabotage job causing delays of start date. So, he hires 2 men out of Ft Worth texas to come build my fence these two men appeared very disreputable so after 2days of work they get into it with the boss Dave so the Dave called police on them they leave then Dave get sick with pneumonia has to put on quarantine for 14 days now he needs money to do payroll and I was stupid enough to give him another $900.00 which I had already gave him $1117.00 to buy supplies so Daves quarantine was up on the 29 July 2020 now he has to go out of town on a family emergency and tells me he will be back the middle of the week to finish the job needless to say he did not show up I called he would not answer my call so next day I used my daughters phone and he answered right away informed me he was having to play catch up and just did not know when he would be able to come finish our fence I told him if he could come the next day that would be fine but if he couldnâ t come to call on Saturday the 8th of august 2020 and tell me when he would be here to finish the job so he calls I miss the call he leaves the message and states since I demand a date to finish the fence the date would be September 4 2020 I call him back and said I had enough I no longer needed his service that I had been told to get some else to finish the fence and we would send the bill to him I have not heard any more from this man. I might add he has a very good salesman to get him the jobs but he as the owner of the company does not carry through the salesman Mark I now believe this is the way they operate he gets the jobs and Dave get the money but the work is never completed so please beware of this company!

I paid David Hahn the 50% deposit that he requested to secure my fence contract. After 2 weeks of no contact from him, I noticed that my check had been cashed so I contacted him to find out when he would be able to start the work. I received a call from someone else telling me that David had ended his business and sold his contracts to this new company. The guy on the phone said he did not know when he would be getting to my fence because all of David's contracts had been dumped on him. I tried to get my deposit back from David and he refused to say that the work will still be completed. I have waited over a month and there are other contractors available to complete my fence now. David broke our contract agreement without my knowledge or permission and has said that I either wait until the new guy can do the work or I forfeit my deposit. DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN!! HOME ADVISOR NEEDS TO TAKE HIM OFF THEIR SITE. I SEE THAT SOMEONE ELSE HAS ALREADY BEEN SCAMMED BY HIM.

Do not sign a contract nor give the owner Dave any money. I hired this company after meeting the salesperson who is a super nice guy however I can not say the same about the owner who kept finding reasons not to do the job. I hired this company with the understanding that the job needs to be done ASAP and it was agreed on that until Dave got the 50% deposit of $4000 but after that, I was given all kinds of sad stories: first Dave told me that he was busy and was not able to start immediately after all so, therefore, we had to wait a few days, later he gave me a second story that there was a shortage of materials/poles so he could not do the job just yet although I checked and there is no shortage of lumber, then he supposedly was sick with COVID so we waited over 16 days for recovery only to find out that maybe it was not Covid after all, then I was told he was out of town for a family emergency. By this time, we have already wasted one month and a half waiting to get a job done that would only take roughly 4-5 days to do. I asked Dave for my money back a couple of times since he was not able to keep his end of the deal and he refused to do so stating that the deposit is not refundable???? I advised him that is out of the question since he is the one not being able to deliver, I advised him I will speak with my attorney if not reimbursed. There is nowhere on the contract where it states that the deposit is NON REFUNDABLE for any reason at all, let alone for the reason of him not doing his job. Please don't give this guy business as it seems you will be wasting your time, your money and you will need an attorney to get your money back.

The owner of the company, Dave is a quality individual and a very hard worker. I am very pleased with the quality of my new residential fence and I got the lowest bid for the job! I live on the corner of the street so everyone can see my nice, new fence! Thank you!

Absolutely would recommend DH Fence & Remodeling for any fence work. They were thorough, polite, considerate of my wishes, conscientious of my neighbors, and worked hard to ensure both myself and my wife were pleased with their work. There were three fence companies that responded to my request through HomeAdvisor but only one (DH Fence) cared to follow up with me so I went out on my own and got bids from two other companies. While they were a bit cheaper, only DH was willing to work and give me exactly what I wanted. I found out later that this is why their bids were cheaper. I am overjoyed with the work the crew from DH did and would highly recommend them to anyone.

The customer service was very helpful and met our needs in every way possible. They were also very timely in completing the job.

I am very happy with there work. They did an excellent job. Would recommend them to anyone who needs quality work on building a wood fence.

We had a top notch experience with this crew. They were all professional but friendly. They arrived on time and cleaned up after themselves thoroughly. My fence is amazing! The attention to detail and quick resolution for any small issues really made working with them a breeze. And their affordable!!

They did an excellent job at a fair price and were very accommodating to our requests.

The owner, Dave addressed every concern that I had. He also kept me posted as the progress being made. His team, Daryell,DJ & Huntter were meticulous and obviously very knowledgeable about they were doing. The neighbor who lives behind me hired them on the spot as well as the neighbor on my left. When they were finished, they made sure that I was satisfied and if I had any issues that needed to be addressed on the spot. The owner and crew are very knowledgeable and did a great job rebuilding my fence and gates. They re also going to put a swingset and playhouse together for me. The customer service was great. The owner checked in every day making sure I was happy with the work being done and to keep me updated on the progress.

Let me just say DH Fence & Remodeling did a great job on my custom fence. I'm very happy with the result and will use this company again.
