I strongly advise against hiring this contractor or allowing this contractor to come onto your property, MANDATORILY, MEDICALLY RETIRED (i.e., FIRED) from the U.S. Army. On Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 10:31 A.M., I called the owner Brian Emde, and we had a 20 minute 32 second long phone conversation, and at approximately 6 minutes and 15 seconds into our phone conversation, Brian Emde states he is a 10-year Army vet, and when he got out, he experienced really bad depression because he was MANDATORILY, MEDICALLY RETIRED (i.e., FIRED) from the Army. Brian Emde stated it took him a year and a half to recover and find a deck builder to start working for, and Emde wants to eventually start building homes, but he is worried about having to deal with city municipalities. Part of the reason, I hired Brian Emde was because he told me he was a 100% service-connected, disabled veteran. I found Brian Emde on Facebook Marketplace under Deck, Dock, Pergola, Rail because I needed a handrail assembly built on the back porch of a new construction, residential, speculative home I was building located at S COUNTRY CLUB DR and Brian Emdes pictures looked good on the internet, but in my personal experience, Brian Emdes porch handrail assembly construction was not as we discussed and agreed, a subpar actual product in comparison to Brian Emdes online photos. More specifically, the handrail was not installed property as we had discussed on the phone and in the presence of witnesses prior to and during construction of the handrail assembly; in addition, the wooden balusters were cut at different lengths, installed and left in this manner. Instead of returning to make the repairs, even after I had purchased the needed repair materials for the handrail reconstruct, Brain Emde chose to be unprofessional by arguing, becoming confrontation as well as demanding payment before repairing the handrail in order to build as we had agreed during our recorded phone conversations and multiple times in front of multiple witnesses while on the property. Brian Emde has made threats to me long after this project was never completed or repaired, including yesterday, October 28, 2022. When I asked, Brian Emde told me he had all of his insurances to protect me from a libelous situation or suit. Brian Emde did not have workers compensation insurance which makes the property owner (i.e., me) responsible and liable for injury or damage caused by Brian Emde. MANDATORILY, MEDICALLY RETIRED (i.e., FIRED) from the U.S. Army, Unfinished, Unprofessional, Uninsured, Unregistered, Unrecovered and Unstable...Caveat Emptor (i.e., Buyer Beware).
Response from Ozark Deck Company, LLC
"Thank you for your thoughts Mike Pardue, That was quite a bit to read through! The work looked great, I have pictures to prove that. But at this point that is beside the fact. The only reason you are on here, leaving false reviews almost 3 years later, is because I left a review stating that you refused to pay me for that job. Another person left a review stating the same thing. But most importantly there is a Facebook campaign hosted by several other people showing you did not pay them either. It appears you have a lengthy track record of doing that."

Needed some stringers replaced on my deck. The team did exactly what they said they would do in the time they committed and on budget. From initial quote to completion of job was less than a week...as promised.

Brian and his crew were very professional and willing to go the extra mile to have us as satisfied customers. We had our two level deck completely rebuilt by Brian and crew and even added a hot tub deck with a view that is stunning when the sunsets.

Ozark Deck built a deck for me and they did an incredible job! Their bid came in higher than the others but I felt most comfortable with Brian and his crew performing the work! After our 5 day wait the crew got after it! They showed up every day and worked hard the entire time. The quality of the work is just incredible, the deck is extremely sturdy and the way his crew set down the deck board is amazing! I am so glad I chose Brian and Ozark Deck Company!
