Excellent! They arrived early. Worked all day and finished the roof in one day. There was a team of 5 workers who each had a roll and performed it to perfection. House was protected by a large tarp and all debris was clean up and taken away. A new skylight was installed!

They have competitive pricing, the crew knew exactly what they were doing and they got it done in one day. They were very responsive. They cleaned up very well. I was very happy with the work they did. I called them back for a siding job for my home as well. Pricing, again, was reasonable, and they communicated very well during both projects. They were very responsible. and they made sure I was happy with the work they did prior to them leaving. I would highly recommend them, and I would call them back again for any other needs in the future.

work went well. workman were professional. they were on time, prepared and they finished the job in one day. roof looks great and clean up was great. my only complaint is that I never received a receipt for my payment for the job, and I need it to provide to my insurance company. I should have obtained it at the end of the day when they finished the job, but neglected to ask for it. I called several times over the next several months but have never received anything, and have given up. they have moved on... otherwise, it was a good experience... <br />

th their work, but advise to monitor things closely.Really liked Randy and was very pleased with the quote, which was right in the middle of three quotes we received (the lowest was too good to be true). The work was done quickly and well, and we were very happy with the clean up and condition they left the property in. We then noticed that they had not installed one gutter that had been planned. We called and they were very responsive, but it took another call and a couple of weeks to get the work done. A second problem cropped up when we started getting some drips down the side of our stone fireplace. We had known that the coping around the fireplace had been done incorrectly, and the company was to have corrected that when they did the roof, but they obviously hadn't. When I called about it (in late fall) they promised to get out there the following week because they said it had to be above 40 degrees to do the work. Well, the weather didn't cooperate but they came out on a very cold day and did the work anyway. I called because it was them who said it had to be above 40 degrees, but they have assured me that if the material adhered, it didn't matter. So, we are watching closely and hoping they are right. If not, I will call them back and am confident they will make it right. All in all, we were happy with them and would recommend. <br />

Very well, once the contract was signed. There were some initial communications issues but it all turned out well in the end. I will happily re-evaluate this company next Sprin after we re-open the house for the summer... and find no evidence of the previous leak. <br />

They were a very prompt, professional and well-organized crew. They did an excellent job of containing and cleaning up the garbage and had tarps down to keep it off the ground. The job was done in 3 days and it was a big job. The barn is very large and steep and the house has many eaves. <br />

As I said above it looked nice. On a minor note, I was told they have some tool to remove all of the extra nails off the ground. I ended up finding at least a dozen after they were gone....but that was really no big deal. <br /> OK...ready? After a year or two it became evident to me that there was a leak in the one finished room in my basement (both on the ceiling and the outside wall), so I called them back. Randy sent his brother who charged me a few hundred dollars to fix it. His brother put up some sort of (fire and ice?) paper on the part of the roof which is right under the front deck. He put up a second row of it lower than the first, but the top of the second row was over the bottom of the row below it. W**? Who does that? Anyhow, he insisted that would work. A year or two later it became evident to me the water stain in that basement room was getting bigger. <br /> I ended up calling a different contractor who charged me a lot of money to finally fix the problem. <br /> Because of my experience, I would never hire Hudson Valley Roofers again. <br />

"The work we did for this homeowner was in 2004 and he is just mentioning this issue to us now, 10 years later? We remember our job clearly because the homeowner was very nasty, condescending and rude to our workers. He was also mistaken on exactly what was done to rectify the problem and we DID NOT charge ANY additional money for the repair. We offer and stand behind the 20 YEAR WARRANTY on all of our work. If we were notified about the problem, we would have gladly gone back to rectify it. If the homeowner chose to use another contractor without giving us the opportunity to make an necessary repairs, then that is unfair to us, as is his review. We would have made an necessary repairs for FREE because he was within the 20 year warranty but he decided to use another contractor and pay "a lot of money". Now, because he used a different contractor, he spent money unnecessarily and he voided his 20 year warranty with us. We are a 2nd generation roofing company and have been serving the Hudson Valley for over 40 years. Plus we were just voted the NUMBER ONE roofing contractor for the last TWO years by the readers of the Times Herald record. That award isnt given to substandard or "fly-by-night" contractors. Concerning the nails the homeowner found, we go over and around the entire perimeter of the home with a magnetic broom which picks up all the nails that were removed from the prior roof. Some of the nails might get pushed into the dirt/grass from the weight of the torn off shingles and the broom might not be able to retrieve them."

I have originally submitted a good review of this roofer. However, my insurance company questioned why the soffit work was not included in the contract. I offered to pay extra for the soffit. This roffer's owner and worker were nasty about it and told me to get another contractor. My house insurance was canceled and I had to get another insurance compay.

"[member name removed] initially gave us a very favorable review, and rightfully so. He was VERY happy with the way the job turned out and how cosmetically pleasing everything looked. But because we didnt pad his bill and overcharge his insurance company (to cover the costs of the soffits) like he wanted us to, he has resulted to lying and slandering our good name. With regards to the soffits, they were never quoted in the original scope of the work and he did NOT offer to pay for them himself. He wanted us to commit an act of fraud so his insurance company would pay the additional monies for the new soffits. We are a 2nd generation company with a strong reputation and we play an active part in the Hudson Valley community. We do not run this business that way and we do not scam other companies out of money. When we told this to [member name removed], that is when he became very irate and belligerent. It was at that point that we advised him we can not do anymore work for him. Also [member name removed]'s company did not mention ANYTHING about soffits and we have the email from a Ms Melissa Rubidge, from Sept. 2013, from Charter One asking only for a roofing and gutter replacement estimate. The estimate was submitted and APPROVED by the company. I am sure that if the company had an issue with the soffits, then it would have been addressed before they went ahead and approved the claim and paid us for the work we did. I also emailed Ms. Rubidge on 6/3/14 and asked her about [member name removed]'s policy and if it was current or if he was dropped by the company. And it turns out that his policy is STILL in effect and he was NEVER dropped as he claimed. Thus proving that [member name removed] is lying about our company AND his slanderous review about our us is TOTALLY ficticious."

Guy from Hudson Valley Roofers was very professional and informative during our initial call. He sent his foreman and staff the morning of my call to remove the snow from my roof. They arrived on time, surveyed the scope of work, introduced themselves, and started immediately. Once the snow was removed, they shoveled the main entrances and walkways that were obstructed by the snow they removed . They did this without me having to ask! <br /> <br /> I will, without a doubt, use them again for roof snow removal. It's difficult to find contractors you can trust your home to, so I'm happy to have found them! I believe you'll be happy with their services as well.

From Guy, the office / appointment setter / IT individual to Randy to ALL of the workers, everyone was fantastic. Everyone my husband and I spoke with from inception to completion was polite, courteous and knowledgeable. <br /> Unforeseen issues arose post the written estimate and upon beginning the job. Randy provided a fair assessment and a fair additional cost. In a three day turn around, we went from having a house we were ashamed of to a home we pinch ourselves in disbelief of its beauty. This was a job well done from all involved! <br />

I came to know Hudson valley roofing because they did the roof on my father-in-law's house. My father-in-law is a retired contractor and he raved about the price, the quality of the work and how professional they were. Naturally is was a no brainer for me to call them as well based on that recommendation. I called the office and asked for an estimate. They were out to my home in 2 days. A gentleman named Randy, who I later found out was the owner of the company, went up on the roof and took all the measurements. He was very polite, extremely knowledgable and answered every question I had (I had a lot!). That evening, I took the estimate to my father-in-law, he looked it over and said, "call them back first thing in the morning and book the job". So I did exactly what he told me to do. I mailed out a $300 deposit check and "booked the job". They called me 2 days later after receiving the check and scheduled the job. I told them what color I wanted for my shingles and that was it! So easy. The job was scheduled for 3 days later and the work began. The crew arrived about 6:50 am and they started laying out very large tarps from my gutters to the ground to protect my landscaping. After that they were up on the roof ripping off the old shingles. Before I knew it my roof was nothing by exposed plywood. They started "roofing" and by late afternoon everything was done! We had a beautiful new "architectural" roof and our house looked fantastic. The crew went around picking up every little piece of debris that might have slide off the large tarps and they have this thing that looks like a broom with wheels but instead of bristles it has a magnet. I learned that that is used to pick up any old nails that might not had fallen on the tarps. The crew was efficient, polite and certainly knew what they were doing. And with all the rain we had this past June, there wasn't one problem at all. I can honestly say that Randy and the guys at Hudson Valley Roofing are highly recommended. So much so that my brother is going to use them at the end of the summer! Thank you. <br />
