About us
Offering New and Used Hurricane Shutters: Doors and Glass... By Hurricane Ron! Selling NEW Hurricane Shutters, Doors and Windows, as well as, USED Hurricane Storm Panels... in addition, I also, I offer to BUY, SELL or TRADE... your old shutters for new shutters.... As a independent pro and not working for one company... I offer a wide range of options and variety of solutions from different wholesale manufacturers to meet your individual needs and choose from among some of the best wholesale companies in South Florida. For instance, I offer (4) different Accordions, that I rate good, better and best... based on their strengths and higher wind pressures they will withstand... BEFORE GETTING STARTED... 1st... I suggest to copy/print this page, as it's a long read... containing allot of info and you're probably going to forget who said it.. lol CAUTION NOTES ... Concerning Insurance requirements and permitting. 1) If buying Used Storm Panel Shutters STRICTLY TO MEET INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS in order to receive maximum discounts (Mitigation) off your Wind Storm Policy... Be aware that the shutters must be stamped "DADE COUNTY PRODUCT CONTROL APPROVED" (Known as DCA). I suggest calling your insurance company to verify their minimum requirements to be approved for maximum discounts, as some insurance companies now have a sliding scale of how much credit they will issue, depending on what kind of shutter system you have (Storm panels, accordions, roll-up shutters, etc)... In addition to being stamped, some are asking to see the product approvals and some might ask if the shutters were permitted when installed. 2) If getting a permit, which I suggest,... Whether a Homeowner permit or I pull the permit you'll also need the written Product Approvals that are Active (Meaning the shutter company is in business) and approved by Dade County, that prove the shutters were tested... The Product Approvals are then attached to your permit application, house plans and wind load calculations. *************************"MATERIAL ONLY"********************************* 1) New (5) Manufacturers of new Galvanized Steel and Aluminum Storm Panels... Choice of panels with HOLES spaced 6", 6.25", 6.50", 12", 12.50" and 13" apart. My favorite panel, made by Florida Storm Panel Supply Co. is made with "Safety hemmed edges" (Folded and bent backwards to eliminate sharp edges and reduce chance of bodily injury). A great shutter and well worth the cost. 2) New Storm Panel TRACKS. 3) New Accordions Shutters.... (Choice of 4 different mfg) from $8.50 to $14.50 per foot. If security is the foremost concern, I have accordions with 5/8" thick mortise locks and 1/2" pins for maximum protection. Replace/change the tek screws to security screws at the starter blades and it becomes a very strong shutter and hard to break into. 4) New Clam Shell Shutters... Vintage style with curved ends and heavy reinforced structure. $27 5) New Bahama Shutters and *Colonials Shutters... Strong yet beautiful, clear polycarbonate sheet backing. Welded corners. Choice of (140) colors... Among the best, if not the best in Miami...$27 and $30 6) New Roll-Up Shutters... European style, with end retention clips for maxi width spans... $25.00 7) New Impact Rated Doors... Costs varies... depending on material, size and style. 8) New Impact Rated Windows....
