I called I can fix that after being stood up by a roofing company 4 days in a row. John Hicks the owner came right to my house after I told him my predicament. I told what need attention and he went right to work. I will definitely call him for all my handy man projects.

Charles and his team were great! The work they did was just what I expected and I was very pleased with the outcome. The price was very good for the work they did.

I did not have him doing a million things....only the very few ones I listed due to we both said we would concentrate just on the kitchen and he would be done in a week, his boys were very slow had to keep going outside to talk about it took there time and in 1 week left and never came back cause the week was up???? he said he'd be done in a week and he was not that is not our fault we did not give him any thing else to do.....This man is a bad telling you one thing then going back on this right....I sleep real good at night Charlie and pray for you every night since you left cause GOD knows what you did to us and it will come back sometime on you for doing folks that way...

Easy to work with, professional. Cost is more than others but well worth it for the work done. Went with someone cheaper at first and regretted it. Don't make the same mistake I did and go with these guys first. Have already rehired him for another job.

All work was well done. Charley and his crew were very cooperative and
respectful. My wife and I stayed in the back of the house during the
entire restoration so we witnessed first hand the work being done. The
final price was over the original estimate but several quality
improvements were added during the process. The final price was fair,
and the finished product is better that we hoped for. Charley was very open to input we gave during and after the job.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS THIEF!!!! He initially will quote you a low price and then cleverly add-up more work for more money (i.e. he will say 'Oh this needs to be done also' and before you know it your initally low estimate is now tripple that of his initial offer) . He was never able to show me receipts for anything he bought. None of his employees are certified and they were essentially clueless. He himself never does any of the work but has a bunch of incompetent twenty year-olds to do it for him. He is also never there (only to collect the money at the end of the week which was never agreed upon from his initial estimate). I never even saw him pick up a hammer or any tools the whole time he was there.
To make matters worse, my jewelry and other expensive items became missing during the last few weeks from my house (the guy even brags how he goes to Pawn shops, what an idiot). The cops were called in and the guy left my house as though he never did anything wrong.
Response from I Can Fix That!
"THIS GUY IS TRYING TO AVOID PAYING HIS BILL!!!! [member name removed] originally contacted me on 11/6/2013 and wanted an estimate done for repairs to a home he was planning on buying in Bidwell, Ohio. I sent him a free estimate and several weeks later, [member name removed] contacted me again claiming he was not going to purchase that home in Bidwell and had another home he was looking to buy in Gallipolis instead. Another estimate was written on 12/3/2013 for $17,500.00. [member name removed] then added more items he wanted done so another estimate was completed on 12/10.2014. In early February, [member name removed] contacted me stating he closed on the house and was ready for my crew and I to start repairs to his home before he moved in. At first, [member name removed] had no issues paying his bill. Once we started working, [member name removed] discovered other issues with his home and wanted addition remodeling done not included in his original estimate. I spent several hours walking him through his home, giving him my professional opinion about issues he had, breaking down labor and material cost for the items he wanted done and would give him several different options on how our company can repair/remodel his home. [member name removed] then began to call me at all hours of the day and night to talk about personal issues, sometimes spending an hour of time listening to his family issues and his work problems. If he was home when we were doing repairs, it was near to impossible to get any work done because he would want to just sit there with me and just chat. It seemed to be like he just needed someone to talk to. He had me go to his work and introduced me to several of his Co-Workers, and bragged about how good of a job we were doing and how reasonable out prices were. I even went as far as to locating Sheep and Chickens for his Father, drove an hour to his home, another hour and a half to retrieve the sheep and chickens and delivered them to his home for free, out of the goodness of my heart. For the first few weeks, [member name removed] paid his bill with no issues. But as weeks went by, he started only making partial payments and in some cases, had to post date checks. He continued to add more repairs/remodeling to the list of things he wanted done. On 4/21/2014, I explained to [member name removed] that his bill was reaching a high level, owing over $12,000.00 in Labor and Materials. He understood and I went on to explain that this was going to be our last week for a few weeks, that I had other work lined up and this would give him the opportunity to get caught up on his bill and the special order cedar siding should be in by then. On 4/24/2014, I spoke to [member name removed] in the morning and explained that we would be wrapping things up a day early and I needed some sort of payment from him so that I could pay my employees. He seemed very irritated with me when I asked him for money. When we arrived at his home, he then claimed that me or one of my crew members have stolen from him which is an absolute and flat out lie. Our company had installed a camera security system with a DVR that continually records for several weeks in his home and the items he claims were taken could not have made it out of his home without being caught on camera. Along with the security system, his Father follows me and my crew and watches up like a hawk inside and outside the home. My crew and I would not and could not have stolen a single item from his home. All of my crew are extremely trustworthy, hard working guys who are being accused of false accusations! [member name removed] is simply plotting a way to get out of paying his bill, and I will be taking legal actions against him to collect his debt. All of my other reviews have been an A and [member name removed] statement is completely and utterly untrue."

Charlie and his crew are all very good at all types of work. They come when they say they'll be there; sometimes a little earlier. Charlie gives a fair estimate and is a detail guy, always looking for the best approach for the best result. He always goes over the day's work with you at the end of the day to make sure it meets expectations. He did a lot of little extras to make the finished product that much better. All of his crew are courteous and professional. They all seem to have the same concern for doing the best job rather than the fastest job. I saw no shortcuts taken. They did a beautiful job on the wood flooring, taking great pains to ensure that there was good staggering between rows. I never heard of I Can Fix That until I saw them listed on Angie's List. The reviews I read were all true and accurate and I would rate them higher than anyone else in the area. Charlie will be my contractor for all future jobs. Great work, guys!!! And thanks again.
Not your average project! I had previously had I-beams installed on 3 walls of the basement. The ceiling tiles had to come down and parts of the ceiling needed to be lowered. Complicated story but Charles came by and we agreed on a way to fix it. They were always on time and put in a lot of work. The ceiling got fixed and looks great. I had time they owed me on paying for the 40 hr. special so they also worked on my 1/2 bathroom in the basement. Painted, sticky tile on floor and new faucet. They took the time to remove the toilet and sink cabinet so they could lay the floor they way it should be done. Nice guys to work with and they made sure they cleaned up the mess.
It went fantastic. Charlie and crew showed up tastefully early both days they came out (ie 10-15 minutes early). They came ready to work! After the initial meeting, we identified the things they would tackle and they did superbly. Although they worked quickly, they did not skimp on quality and they cleaned up after themselves. It was refreshing to discuss my plans with them as they quickly identified good solutions, often supplementing and improving my inadequate designs.
Charles Hicks of I Can Fix That was prompt in responding to my call for an estimate. He looked over the job and gave me what I considered a fair estimate. We agreed on power washing the house and spray staining with 1 coat of quality stain for $6500 labor and cost of stain and materials (estimated at $1500-$2000) . I agreed to hire him. Initially he estimated a 2-3 week start date. He actually started about a 1 week after the estimate visit. His crew was professional, polite, and worked a steady 8-10 hours a day. Charles often dropped in to review the work being done and pointed out any issues he noticed with the condition of the house and offered suggestions and alternatives to assure a quality job. At times he was also working on site.
After the house was washed Charles suggested rolling and brushing the stain on would achieve a better result because of the somewhat poor condition of the siding. It should have had this job done years ago. I agreed to this change. After one coat of stain had been applied to the entire house Charles suggested a second coat was advisable. He told me he would provide the additional labor and materials at no additional cost to me. Charles and his crew did minor additional work not specified in our original agreement.
The finished job is beautiful! I would hire Charles again and will recommend him to others.

It went very well. We bought this house about 5 years ago and have been doing updates as budget allows.
Our experience with other local handymen has been lacking at best. In the past we used Lowes contractors with great success.
But now we are down to the DREADED bathroom remodel and now know who will be doing this project.... "I CAN FIX THAT" CHARLES HICKS....
