A few problems occurred during installation that the company eventually resolved. However, after installation and final payment, we noticed several issues with carpet. We contacted the project manager to report the issue. He said he would let us know when he could come out to repair. We never heard back despite many attempts to contact the company. Now, the telephone numbers are not in service, and we still have not received an email or call back.

IC Floors did a great job. The estimate went well, and the team started on time. When they discovered that part of the sub-floor had badly rotted (due to a bad leak from some years ago), the owner stepped in to coordinate replacing it and getting the job back on track. The sub-floor was replaced, the vinyl was laid, and the team still got done on time. The floor looks beautiful.

We had an great experience working with IC Floors. From the beginning they were helpful and responsive, and that continued through the whole project. They were listened to us through the whole process, from getting a quote and selecting tile through the finishing touches. They sell flooring materials as well as install, so we purchased the tile through them. They had a nice selection and worked to help us find what we wanted, making suggestions for what might go well in our house. The pricing was very competitive, but we decided to go with them both based on price AND because they seemed responsive and easy to work with. They sub-contracted the installation (not sure if that's always the case). The workmanship was excellent, and they kept our house clean and mostly functional throughout the project (a big deal since it was a lot of rooms). Problems happen during renovation projects, but they helped solve all of the issues that came up. The wrong color grout was installed in a couple of rooms before the mistake was caught. I believe it was actually their supplier's mistake, but they immediately called us back with a solution and fixed it with no argument. We also were particular about the transitions to rooms with wood floors, and they fixed that in a way we were very happy with as well. Overall we had a very positive experience, and would highly recommend this company.

Dawn and Steve from IC floors were an absolute joy to work with. My wife and I have done several renovations to our home using several companies and I can honestly say that IC was one of the best. We were originally going to go with a big box retailer but at the last minute decided to give Dawn a call for pricing. They not only beat the big box price but, in my opinion, did a better job explaining what we needed and what was going to happen with the install. They also accommodated our somewhat unusual schedule due to other jobs being completed. Our home turned out absolutely beautiful and we couldn't be happier. Would highly recommend them for any flooring projects!

We were very happy with IC Floors from our first meeting at their store. We were unsure which carpet would be best for our needs. Don Johnson the store manager gave us a lot of good information, we took samples home and ordered our carpet. The service was as explained to us, no surprises. The carpet arrived at their store when they said it would, we set up an installation date, the installers arrived on time and worked very hard while they were here for two days. They left our home very clean each day. The installers did an excellent job and we love our new carpet. Dawn another one of the managers made sure we were happy with the work upon completion and if we had any concerns we needed handled. I would recommend IC Floors.

The overall result of their work was poor and the finishing had to be redone by another contractor. They outsourced most of the work. Communication was good but the end result was awful and all of their work had to be redone by a more skilled contractor. They sanded existing flooring poorly which left high knots and poorly sanded spots. The new flooring that they installed and stained had to be refinished because they applied the finish over the stain too quickly and it peeled. Ultimately I had to find a different contractor and have them redo all of the finishing work that IC floors outsourced to a low quality third party. To their credit they did offer to redo the work with the same low end third party but I opted to find someone more skilled and not endure the hassle of poor workmanship again. Avoid at all costs for hardwood floor refinishing.
Response from IC Floors
"This is a disappointing review because we take a great deal of pride in our work and work hard to satisfy our customers. This project was a challenge due to the condition of the current floor. We had to adjust the project several times and did a lot of work before even getting to the finished floor. Not only is this the 1st negative review that we have received for this subcontractor, but this particular technician has received almost exclusively positive reviews (as opposed to no comment/no review). The finish that the customer chose is not the normal polyurethane that we use, but a tung oil compound that we have used, but not with stain. The customer originally requested natural finish throughout, but after we had coated the whole floor, he changed his mind and decided to stain the new floor. We removed the finish in that area and added stain (at no charge). The installer followed the instructions, but in retrospect, did not give the stain enough time to dry before re-applying the finish. this was corrected by removing and refinishing. The customer complained about the finishing of the existing floor. We did not agree with his diagnosis and apparently, neither did several other vendors, but we offered to rework the floor. We were not able to come to a resolution and it became apparent that we were not going to be able to satisfy his expectations. It is my understanding that the customer found a company from out of state to rework the existing floor. I don't agree that the workmanship was poor, but I understand that the customer was not satisfied and for that I apologize."

Not well. We agreed to have the installers come June 27-28. We were told the weekend before that it would be done on the 28th as a one-day job. The team of 3 installers completed only 3 bedrooms on the 28th, citing as a reason that we hadn't dismantled the beds like we should have (we were never advised to do this). Also they noted that they didn't have enough carpet to complete the upstairs job. When the lead installer came out to check this, he concurred---IC Floors had not ordered correctly. So the team came back on the 29th and carpeted the basement and the remaining bedroom, leaving the hallway with the tack boards exposed. The installer called multiple times, saying they would return Friday, then Saturday early, then Saturday afternoon, finally Tuesday July 5 at 7:00 AM. When they hadn't shown up by 8, I called him (he had experienced a break-in and couldn't tell me when he might be able to reschedule) and then IC Floors. IC Floors guaranteed the job would be finished the next day. The installer showed up July 6 with one new person and in the course of 6 hours put down the stairs, hallway and 1 additional closet and left quickly (with a bit of a mess). When I examined the work I saw that the seams were jagged, corners were cut short and additional pieces added to cover, carpet edges were not pulled to the wall or were lapping up onto the wall. I sent pictures to IC Floors, who sent out the lead installer again. He said the July 6 work was unacceptable and said they would re-do it, and that he could fix the other problems. New carpet was ordered and the lead installer came out on July 25 and within 4 hours or so had laid the new areas and corrected the issues I had identified. Apparently this was the first use of this installer by IC Floors. Possibly the last. I requested a "good faith" discount ($200 or so) to compensate for a very bad experience that had installers in our house on 4 different days, a team that showed up late 3 times, and spanned a period of 28 days. What we were offered instead was a $200 credit toward future services, which I had said we did NOT want because we will not do any business with them in the future. We chose IC Floors because of their excellent reviews on Angie's List, and the company employees (Don, Dawn, Steve) were all very courteous and considerate, but they apparently had a problem with contractor oversight and internal communications (mis-measuring to begin with, and not instructing us to dismantle furniture. I had removed all the books, pictures, lamps, and the contents of 5 closets to the first floor as advised). I realize that they took a loss on our job because they had to re-order carpet twice, but both times were due to a company issue (again, mismeasuring and shoddy workmanship)----and in no way does that constitute a "discount" to the customer. The ratings below reflect the performance of the installer rather than the core company, but the use of this installer does reflect on the company.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience. • From time of order job took 1.5 months to start • Outsourced all work to 3rd party sub-contractors. The guy you meet will not be the guy at your house doing the job. • Existing base floor and backer board were not removed as promised (I am very worried that the tiles will just crack again) • Install took 3 times as long as promised. • Workers just did not show up on multiple days. Our house was just left open. • Workers showed up at 9:30pm at night on one occasion • Very poor communication between the IC Manager, Estimators, 3rd party contractor and Workers. • Did not install new tiles under the stove, dishwasher or fridge. (New tiles were thicker to the bottom drawers do not open) • They did not use tint on the grout in one section so it was a different color • 1 inch gap was left between tiles and door transitions to the dining room and living room (I had to finish this work with another handyman) With the exception of the door transitions we were compensated for the above items via a reduced fee but I had to catch them and call them out for each item. I really felt like they tried to cut every corner and if I was not more observant they would have gotten away with it. In the end we paid less but we got less and we did not get the floor we wanted. Very stressful. I would not recommend this company.
Response from IC Floors
"Unfortunately, this review is not accurate. There was definitely miscommunication, but much of the communication problem came from the customer. The initial delay was caused by the customer's attempt to save money by not following our recommendation. While we do use sub-contractors, we take complete responsibility for our projects. There were scheduling issues the 1st 2 days of the project and there were minor issues that either were corrected or could have easily been corrected. (There are several complaints in the review that were never brought to our attention and/or do not make sense) The major "problems" on this project are a result of a misunderstanding of terminology. As the project was completed and the final invoice was presented, the response was that the floor looks beautiful, but we (the customer) are concerned that there will be a problem because the subfloor was not replaced. They offered to pay the balance if IC Floors would warranty the installation for 25 years. I explained that this is not a reasonable request. We did not replace the concrete board (underlay), because it was determined that the board was installed properly and it would have been an unnecessary expense especially considering that the customer did not want to pay for the replacement of the subfloor, which we recommended and they refused based on cost. I explained that we had removed all charges associated with the board removal and deducted additional money due to the scheduling inconvenience before presenting the final invoice. The response was a threat that if we didn't write off the remaining balance, the customer would write a bad review on Angie's List. I explained that we want to make things right by making sure we do a quality job, not by paying for a good review. The customer did not pay the balance and wrote a bad review."

The sales/measurement process was smooth. The 1st day of installation was slightly delayed due to a scheduling conflict with a previous job. The installers made up for it by working very hard and even staying late on the 2nd day to ensure everything was completed to our satisfaction.
The hardwood flooring was sub-contracted out, but to an excellant company. I was very pleased with the attention to detail in prepping all the floors prior to applying the sealant. The final color was perfect and uniform throughout. The carpeting and pad arrived exactly as ordered, and installed in one of the most professional ways I've ever seen. Everybody arrived at the time promised. No waiting around for someone to show up. Pieter and Steve were able to work within my tight time schedule and delivered an excellant installation. I highly recommend IC Floors to anyone.
I think they are great. Peter, who runs the company was always responsive. He called, texted and emailed when he said he would. He explained any delays. He was on top of schedule changes. I loved the floors, the work they did was excellent. The contractors he used knew what they were doing and I’ve had no problem with the floor.
