Everything was smooth and really high quality work.

Mel and his crew remodeled my kitchen, livingroom, bathroom and replaced my back deck. They took down a wall between my kitchen and livingroom to really open the space. They did a wonderful job. They were on time and Mel and Micheal were always available to answer any questions I had. The whole remodel took a few weeks longer than expected but that was due to deliveries being postponed. A few subcontractors were a little messy or didn't clean up but Micheal was there to correct all the issues usually before I said anything or even noticed. Overall I was pleased and my husband and I are so happy in our newly remodeled home!

From our initial visit with Mel and his Improve America team, my wife and I knew immediately that a positive rapport of trust and honesty was established. Immediate call-backs, work done as promised and truly some of the nicest construction people we have ever met. It was an invaluable process of building a relationship that will only transform into new projects.

Mel and his team did a great job. Communication with Mel was very good. His crews arrived on time daily. The rough carpenters did a great job. The electrician and carpenters arrived on time, completed their work quickly. Michael, the finisher, is a REALLY talented guy. He pulled the work of the other groups together and completed the project.

This project went very smoothly. From the first appointment, Mel was very professional and did all the measurements for the project. When I decided to select him for the project, we discussed some changes I wanted, then scheduled the project. When they started the project was started, the material was already delivered and available. The actual construction was delayed a little because of weather (heat) but was completed in a timely manner. The project was completed exactly as I imagined and looked great. Both my wife and I are completely satisfied with the work and asked for an estimate for another project we ae considering. Job well done!

Mel Madaris and the workers were very professional and friendly. Mel was patient and answered all my questions. They started work on the agreed date and finished in a timely manner. An old deck landing and stairs were removed and a new deck and stairs were built. Also, the old load bearing posts and railing on the front poach was removed and replaced. I am very pleased with the work done and will use them again for other projects. I highly recommend them.

The best and most pleasant experience I have ever had with any contractor in 37 years. Mel Madaris and his crew were always reliable, punctual, and considerate. Once they started our project they stayed on it until completion. Their work was expertly done and they took pains to protect the surrounding furniture, carpeting, floors and walls. They always cleaned up after themselves. We were absolutely comfortable leaving them working alone in our home when we were away. Moreover, the ease of communication with Mel and his men could not have been better. We were kept informed during all stages of the project. I will certainly re-hire them for any work needed in the future. Overall, Improve America is a thoroughly professional contractor and I recommend them highly.

After some hiccups due to some initial sub-par tiling, Mel kept at it, and at his own expense re-tiled the shower floor twice at our request. It took longer than we would have liked, but the end result is great. Although our experience was not perfect, I have no hesitation recommending Mel and Improve America as a contractor that has integrity and stands up for the quality of their work. 5 stars, and some kudos to Mel, who has won us over with his diligence and desire for us to be happy with the work.

Improve America was professional in every sense of the word. They were courtesy, prompt, accommodating, and completely committed to ensuring our satisfaction. We were so pleased with the garage overhang they built we asked them to do additional work. Their craftsmanship and pride in "getting it right" were inspirational. As Scott repeatedly said, "We'll make you proud!" And they did!

Improve America owner Mel Madaris was professional, punctual and great to deal with. His quote was competitive and he had the ability to work with my timetable. His team arrived on time and worked the entire day. Tim and Titus were cordial and professional. They kept me informed of any issues as they came up and we collaborated to come up with a solution. They took pride in their work and did a great job and in a timely manner. Mel followed up personally to be sure I was happy with the crew, materials, construction and the the final product. Overall a great experience and I will use them again if I have any other projects come up.

Mel Madaris was very responsive with his proposal and the price was very reasonable. The workers showed up on time every day over a 10-day period to remove the old deck and to install a new composite deck. They did a high quality job. I will hire Improve America again.

After a slow start we were very happy with the end product. It took a little longer to build then original quoted but we are happy. The quality is great.

The company kept its appointments on time, from initial visit to estimate to meeting expected completion date. Their subcontractors showed up on time and completed work to my satisfaction. This was a large project, and inevitably there was some collateral damage when the hardwood decking was removed. The company quickly acknowledged the issues and corrected them, with no price increase on damage resulting from the contracted scope of work. Unusually for remodeling contractors, a 5 year warranty was provided for defects in workmanship.

We had to have an unexpected bathroom renovation in one of our bathrooms due to the unpleasant discovery of a rotted joist under the bathtub due to years of water seeping through the aged tiles and grout in the shower. I obtained four quotes from contractors and chose Improve America because of the price quoted and good Angie's List reviews. As soon as the first bathroom was completed, my husband and I were so pleased with the results and easy process that we decided to have Improve America immediately begin to remodel the second bathroom, too! I cannot say enough positive things about the entire experience of working with Mel and his subcontractors. First, as mentioned, the results were fantastic. The tile turned out beautifully and all of the work met or exceeded my expectations. Second, Mel provided flexibility to accommodate our busy works schedules by coordinating and passing along a key that we gave him to all of the various subcontractors (plumber, tile people, etc.). He also accommodated our schedules by having a lot of the work on the second bathroom completed while we were away on vacation. Third, I was impressed by not only the quality of work of the people with whom Mel chooses to work, but also by the friendliness and respectfulness of the people with whom he chooses to work. Most of the work was completed while we were away from our home, but they always treated our home with respect, and on the occasion that we did happen to meet someone that was working, they were always friendly and pleasant. Fourth, I was pleased with the communication that Mel provided. He was easy to contact by text message or email, which is convenient when you are having a busy day! Finally and very importantly, I feel that we saved a lot of money by working with Improve America versus another contractor. Mel allowed us to purchase our own tile and fixtures for the renovation and only invoiced us for the labor and other misc. materials (most of which was included in the quoted price, but there were a couple of add-on items like valves that had to be replaced unexpectedly in one of the bathrooms). This allowed us to do our own price shopping and ensure that we did not have to pay an outrageous mark-up for the materials. I really appreciated the transparency of the costs, and ultimately, the total costs of the renovations were much lower than if we had chosen one of the other contractors which had quoted the job. Overall, I am very satisfied with the experience and would not only use Improve America again, but I would also highly recommend Improve America to family and friends. Working with Mel made a potentially stressful renovation very easy and I could not be more pleased with the results!

The toilet had been leaking into the sub-flooring which had rotted the floor.  Improve America completely replaced all the sub-flooring, the bathroom flooring, and installed the new tile floor.  They extracted the existing bathroom cabinet that was originally custom designed around the tile wall (very difficult to remove), and replaced the vanity with perfection.  Installed the new toilet, brand new granite top and faucet including plumbing and hardware. <br> <br> <br> <br>

Improve America met with us over a six month period before the remodel began 2/1/2015. As part of the pre-planning stage, Mel Madaris contacted the cabinetry subcontractor and the tiling subcontractor to meet with us so they could see our vision and assist us with our choices and certain items that we had not yet considered.  Financially, we were able to make sound decisions as to what expenses we were ready to take for the best quality of materials and craftsmanship.This was needed on our part to plan financially as well as time to choose flooring materials, cabinetry, backsplash and counters, sinks, appliances, and other items. <br /> <br /> Just as the subfloors were exposed, we had several snows which tend to shut down the south.  There was about one-week delay, before everything began flowing together again. <br /> <br /> <p>Mel Madaris, the contractor, was present several times a week and/or called to update us concerning the project?s progress as well as our level of satisfaction.<br /> <br /> </p> <p>During one visit, we expressed our concern that the painting was substandard.  He had the painters redo the work twice.  After that he replaced the original painter with a superb painter that competed the painting and the finishing of all the millwork and stairs. </p> <p>This was our only glitch during the project. We were appreciative of the way Improve America was responsive to our concerns and remedied the difficulty with diplomacy. <br /> <br /> All promises and contractual agreements were kept.  All the subcontracting crews worked well together. The project clean-up was efficient and well done.<br /> <br /> </p> <p>Over the previous ten years, Improve America has remodeled two three-quarter baths with major shower/plumbing difficulties and the master bath had a major reconstruction. (The total expenditure of the three baths was approximately $30,000.) The consistency of subcontracting with workmen who demonstrated excellent craftsmanship in their particular area laid the base for our selecting Improve America for our major house renovation.  </p> <p> </p> <p>A few subcontractors, who had previously had worked on our baths, were employed to work on the large renovation. They invited other workers and subcontractors who were new to our home to see our master bath. These workers were very proud to share the finished product with their fellow construction friends.   </p> <p> </p> <p>To remodel our forty plus year-old home, we have sacrificially saved over the years so we would not place ourselves in debt. Therefore, procuring a contractor to take our ideas and assisting us to make the best use of our resources in making those ideas become our reality takes a lot of trust. Trust takes time. With each project that we have enlisted Improve America to partner with us, the experience has deepened the layers of trust that we feel that we can recommend them to anyone.</p> <p> </p> <p>Once we have the finances in place, there is one more project; which includes replacing the subflooring to add hardwood in two bedrooms and two closet/storage reconfigurations in those rooms.
