$600
I bought their contractor for a day at $300.00 which seemed like a deal. The thought was an online video indicated that the project could be done in one day by an inexperienced person. I met with the owner and we agreed that maybe it would take two of his experienced experts An entire day (so $600). We had challenges right in the beginning. There was an electricity outage in the neighborhood that slowed work as they could not use their saws or drills, then the two guys spent a long time arguing about how to do it, then the first four hours were up and one guy left and the other guy diligently stuck around to make up for the time wasted arguing and manually sawing which I appreciated(just to back up a second I had called the owner in the morning to discuss the outage and rescheduling and we had agreed that it would be okay as the equipment had batteries). The manager and I worked out a deal to bring out the one guy for an extra day at the same rate to finish it up and I want to say that I ended up adding one more day but this was two years ago. Nice hard working guy, just slower and less efficient than others I had worked with (in his defense he cost half as much). In the end my under deck roof is okay...it has a lot of spots that leak so my level of satisfaction is not high. In the end I got the work done at $600 (or was it $900?) This was a while back. It took two days I think, maybe three. At the end of the day I paid a C price for C quality work. In retrospect I could have recruited my brother to help me do it but it would have taken us four times as long and I can’t say the quality would have been better. Honestly if I had bid the whole job itself another crew might have charged me $3,000+. So with labor and materials I paid $1,200 maybe $1,500 and it’s adequate. I did appreciate the managers flexibility in extending the special price over additional days and letting the one guy stick around to make up for the bickering and electrical outage.

Other than the initial visit to get a bid, everything went terribly. We booked them in April and let them know that we were planning to sell the house so we needed the work done that summer. After signing the contract, I didn't hear from them for three months. In July I called and was told we were on the schedule for the following week. When I didn't hear from them again the following week, I called again and I was told that the scheduling got screwed up and they would let me know when it would be done. Finally I got an email saying it would be done in early August. Then extremely hot weather hit for a few days around the time they planned to paint our house and I got another email saying they were delayed. Finally, after more calls, the work was done in mid-September. All seemed good until about a month later when the paint started peeling. I called and after a few conversations, Taylor came to the house to see the issues. I was assured it was under warranty and would be fixed when the weather allowed. Although we had a very dry fall and early winter (and I saw other houses in the neighborhood being painted), I didn't hear from them again until I sent two emails and called to inquire in January. I received a text telling me he was having medical issues and would get to it when he could. We were now about about 7 weeks away from listing our house for sale. Given all the issues, I sent a pre-complaint letter as advised by the Oregon CCB. After receiving the letter, I got an email saying that (weather permitting) they would "touch up" the house six days before listing it for sale. But if I filed a complaint, they would not do the work until we entered into mediation. I had already received advice from another painter telling me that the entire house needed to be repainted due to several improper techniques (e.g. Failure to use a high quality bonding primer), not just touched up. When I received the email from Innovative advising me of the March date for "touch up," we were in the middle of a 10 day dry period and I asked whether it could be done sooner so that we could ensure it would be done before listing. I got no response. I am now preparing to file a complaint once my 30 day clock has run. The whole experience has been stressful, frustrating and unprofessional.

It took me over a year to get the siding and the fence done and was told that the business had sold and I would not be getting the 25% deposit ($1,000) back. I had to hire a new person to finish the job and additional repairs were needed on the siding. I would not hire any company that was represented by Taylor Johnson.

The project went excellently. Jorge and his crew cleaned, prepped and painted the siding, eaves, exterior doors and gutters of my 50+ house. They were very professional and completed the job on time as promised in spite of the 90+ heat in early August. The gutters required 3 coats of paint to cover the deep red which they recommended after the 2nd coat. The entire project was completed in 4 days. Upon completion they cleaned up and removed all painting related materials. I highly recommend this company and will use them again in the future for further painting as needed.

It went great.  It took me a while to get them out but not because of them it was my schedule was the problem.  The price was fine. I think initially when they came they sent the guy out to power wash the house before painting. The guy that they sent out he didn't understand what work needed to be done so he didn't bring the right equipment. So he had to come back and do it.  In the end they made everything right to feel good about everything that happened.

EVERYTHING WAS GOOD WITH THE ESTIMATE AND THE INITIAL INSTALLATION, BUT THEN THE PERSON DOING THE WORK DIDN'T SHOW UP FOR 2 DAYS( WE LATER LEARNED HAD VEHICLE TROUBLE) BUT WE JUST SHUT DOWN THE JOB AS NOT MUCH AS LEFT TO DO AND WE NEEDED TO MOVE FORWARD. WE WOULD DEFINITELY HIRE AGAIN, AS IT IS UNLIKELY THE VEHICLE TROUBLE WOULD OCCUR AGAIN

<p>It went very well. It was just one person and he was a young fellow that they contract out. He did pressuring washing for us. He was very professional and very good. His machine broke so he got it fixed and did a little extra without charging. He was very personable, very good and thorough. They stayed with the price and that was a very good price. They really should have charged more. I really worked with them as far as time frame goes. I met with the owner the first time and then he looked at the job. The person that he sent out to do the job was very professional and very good. It was a new company (to me). </p>

The work was never completed. They did the initial work in winter and Taylor told me they would come back to paint over the summer when it was dry. I haven't been able to reach Taylor on the phone, he finally texted me back and told me they'd be here on the 18th, but they never showed up. I paid them for the initial work promptly, and I expected them to follow through with what we agreed on. Now I need to hire someone else to do a very small job before it starts raining again or just do it myself. I'm not impressed and do not recommend Innovative Painting Pros.

"My reputation means everything, and in this case we have the situation of misunderstanding. The deal we used was for wood rot, and or restoration repair for a certain amount of man hours as laid out in the details from Angies List. I ask of anyone that buys deals please read everything that is included, and please understand what you're buying before you purchase these deals. It happens almost every time someone buys a deal, and then reaches out to me expecting everything to be done, and I understand that there is a details section, and there is a set amount of work that is in the details for these deals. The work from the deal was completed he was happy he wanted to schedule Painting, but didn't want to pay for the amount owed for the deal until we painted and I told him several times to please read what he purchased and the paint wasn't included in the scope of work completed. We can come back and schedule a time to paint. We actually had a date set for him but then had to reschedule,'since we are about three or four days off of the date he was scheduled, so I personally reached out to the client, but he never responded except to lash out and give me a bad review. I'm fine with having him tell people not to recommend me, I just want the truth to be told and to let people know and realize they need to look at the detail of these deals. I would' like the opportunity to work together but clearly it's not a right fit,!and I don't feel good about the fact that I can be punished for doing what was laid out in the deal, and then have a bad review when we don't given extra things above and beyond what the deal included thanks."

The bottom line is that the prep was inadequate, nearly non-existent, and therefore after less than two years the paint is peeling all over on the wood trim of the house. I would say if you planned to sell or flip your house, you might not care. However this is not our situation. They said all the right things and we trusted them to follow through. Therefore it is all the more disheartening to be let down. They extended our warrantee and promised to do touch ups. When we contacted them, they came out and took note of the problem spots and said they'd send a crew out to fix them. Never heard from them again. Never answered our phone calls or emails.
Response from Luxe Renovations
"My reputation means everything to me, and again we have another Big Deal purchased, and not one of the upgraded options were used, or purchased on this job. The client speaks about the prep, but we did the amount of prep they purchased, and In fact not one issues came up until after a year past the warranty. Now they say we didn't come out, this is really upsetting, since twice I sent different crews out on my dine to address things that were not even things that were not caused by us. They walked on the wet patio, and even tho it wasn't are fault I still sent someone out fix it. The issue with the paint was mainly because they insisted in buying the lowest quality paint from Miller Paints, and my company won't even hold a warranty with Miller. We still did the job and felt good about the outcome. We even came out again this year, and I explained to her husband none of the issues he was having was the workmanship issue which is what we warranty. All the problems he had were paint related and I explained to him that he will need to contact the representative for Miller Paint's, and warned him they will most likely not take care of his problem. I reach out to any of the members that may read this, please be advise when you buy a big deal to read all the fine print and to upgrade where needed, otherwise it's not really worth the savings thanks."

The entire experience was pretty terrible. The job started multiple weeks later than originally agreed to. On the first day of the project the team was hours late and when they did arrive they were not prepared. They lacked common tools to complete a job. They did not have a hose for their pressure washer and did not have extension ladders needed for the job. I loaned them the materials needed and even had to refill their pressure washer with gas two times. The team made a huge mess of the house and driveway. It required multiple phone calls and emails on my part to get the house and lot cleaned and to get the job finished. Many hours of my own time were wasted trying to prevent further problems. It was not a big job but it dragged on for close to three weeks. The entire job was never finished to my satisfaction and I hired a second contractor to finish the work. The owners aren't bad people but are also not capable of dealing with as much business as they have. There is clearly not enough oversight for their crews. They can respond to my review by saying they tried to work things out but they are well aware that some of their workers are not up to the jobs they are sending them out to and that they did not do everything they could have to leave me as a satisfied customer. I have worked with multiple contractors from Angie's List and this is the first negative review I have left.
Response from Luxe Renovations
"My reputation means everything, and this has been the toughest year to date to find good and qualified workers it has been almost impossible. Me and the client hit it off when we met at least I thought we did. The job got delayed several times because of the lack of people I have working for me, but gave the client the opportunity to use on of my Subcontractors, but he declined. The job did have some hiccups, but the only time we didn't check in with the client was upon completion. He paid in full and said he was happy, but then waited several weeks to write this complaint. He wanted more caulking which we reached the not to exceed amount, and he told me he would do it himself to save the cost. I really enjoyed working for him and thought things were good. I apologize things didn't go well for you, but wish you the best fthanks again."

Fabulous. These fellows were thorough and clean, and I am continuing to admire the quality over a year later, as it still looks just newly caulked and painted. I think they did above and beyond my expectations. Highly recommend them. I had to tear out my deck this year, and it is clear that the paint crew went under the old deck, in hard to reach places, and completely painted the siding that no one would've seen. However, now that the deck is off the house, and won't be the same footprint as before, it's even more important that I won't have much repainting to do-- only where the old ledger and siding were removed by deck demolition. I'd hire them again in a minute.

Scammed out of $199. This company offered a Special Deal through Angie's List for sheetrock repair, of which I purchased in Feb'17 in good faith believing that it would be honored timely. After numerous appointments were confirmed then missed with excuse-after-excuse (all without proactive communications or follow-up); I was forced to find another service provider in May'17. Funny thing is that I offered a much larger project for Innovative Painting & Construction to consider, which would have been at minimum a $3k bid which include adding new trim and crown-molding and painting...crazy isn't it! I would not recommend Innovative Painting & Construction as their service is inexcusable and unacceptable.

"My reputation means everything. The strange thing about this is that after the purchase we reached out and thanked you for the purchase, and asked for you to call about scheduling. There was never a call or email from you until this review. I'm growing tired of the way this review system works. If we earn a bad review for poor workmanship, or just lack of experience or a bad job, then I totally understand. Receiving a bad review for the client not reaching out to schedule makes no sense. As a contractor I will do whatever I can to make sure the job goes well and you have a great experience, but it is difficult when there is no response."

Can't rate work that was never done. Long story short: It was months of delay in scheduling followed by two full days where the appointment was scheduled, cancelled, and rescheduled every few hours. If you have ever spent two days waiting for a service, you can understand my frustration and dissatisfaction. They stated they were overbooked, had other jobs to complete, or needed the time to train new staff. I will not share all of their other excuses. I would not recommend this company. Thanks to the Angie's staff for being an intermediary to get this resolved.

"My reputation means everything to me. When me and client met there were no issues, and we agreed on setting a time convenient for the client and proceeded to try to get to the job. I'm equally as frustrated as you are in this job, it's almost like the stars would have to align for this job to happen. We have had a few staffing issues, but in this market every company has. There is never a good excuse, but in this Job everything that could happen did, and to be judged and given such a poor rating after not even doing the work is a bitter pill to swallow."

When I first purchased the coupon Taylor, the owner/manager, contacted me immediately by email. I gave him some possible dates which ignored and it took him weeks to get back to me to schedule. When we finally did he sent two workers who would work for 4 hours each equalling the 8 hours of contractor for the day. One of them, Shawn, who apparently no longer works for this company, was great. The other was slow and did not seem to know what he was doing; just seemed to be there to keep track of time. I had been given the wrong supplies at Home Depot so the other man went to pick up the proper things but also got the wrong thing so Shawn had to go back. I was told this second trip would not be counted in the 8 hours but it was despite Shawn's efforts to convince the other man not to. During the entire time Shawn was gone the only thing the other man did was put caulk around my stove. It took longer for him to complete this than I think it should have. The job did not get completed so the plan was for them to return since they'd already started. Shawn offered to purchase a couple of things needed for to fix the window and hang the shelves and said that they would be in touch when these were received. I did not hear back from Taylor. It took multiple emails for him to reply at which time he said he was understaffed because he'd lost some workers and did not know when they'd be able to return. I told him I had an event planned for a few weeks hence and hoped to have it completed by that time. Again, I did not hear back despite emailing. Taylor finally responded telling me that Shawn had left his company too and he did not think he'd be able to return for months. The work is still unfinished. I was very disappointed in the company, except for the one worker, Shawn, who is no longer there. I would hire him again if I could find him. But I would absolutely not hire Taylor's company ever again and would not recommend him to anyone.

"My reputation means everything to me. I don't understand on these deals why there isn't more information on what really the deal is. The list of items that the client had was huge, and I had to remind her numerous times that we will not get through all the items, so to prioritize them. I explained that trips to the store count as the time worked, and she assured me she would have that handled. I even offered to get the supplies on one of my many Home Depot trips. She never once talks about how we had it scheduled and at the last minute told us while causing my Crew to lose a full day, and the commit about the email is strange since I had my email hacked, and had problems with several emails, and she was aware of this, and then later asked for the workers personal information, so he may come work at a later time for a much lower cost. I'm sorry that it didn't go as planned, but you got almost your entire list done for over half the cost!"

Workers were late to initial and follow up appointments. Work initially done poorly as acknowledged by Taylor the general manager (the drywall was installed backwards and then the texture job was botched). And after 3 appointments the work was not completed. Taylor indicated he would come back for final texture and paint and did not show up or reschedule.

"My reputation means everything to me. This was a total misunderstanding from the start. The client purchased a labor only deal. The first guy tried, but wasn't the most experienced, so I wasn't charging her for the extra time. She seamed very happy, but kept calling me to do extra work. The last time we talked she wanted more work done for free. I explained to her that we can't continue to do work for no cost, and next thing I know I'm getting this review. Please let me know before posting a review, so I may help take care of any situation that may arise thanks."

The problem here, throughout the whole job, was that people were trying to do things beyond their experience or skill level. And the owner didn't check on the job for nearly a month, until it was considered completed. First thing, I asked the man in charge if the company had an experienced tile setter, because I wanted someone experienced to set the Carrera marble I'd bought for the shower. He told me he'd worked with it before, and he'd be doing it. I hoped for the best. From the start, the work schedule was not consistent. The owner would give a start date, and it got delayed. Several times. Once started, Workers came and went at random times. I never knew when workers would be arriving from one day to the next. Some days the lone foreman would work until late into the night. The shower alcove got built, and the marble was going in. I had sealed each piece on both sides and had laid out the pattern of each wall myself. I didn't mind doing this, wanted to do the design. The foreman did a great job of putting the pieces in, following the pattern I'd laid out. Although the mortar extended up the wall beyond the tiles, and things looked a bit uneven in places, it was hard to see any details with all the grout residue everywhere. Then, the foreman disappeared. When I called, he informed me that he was no longer with the company, and to direct my questions to the owner. I did, and was told someone else would be finishing things up. For the days that nobody came, I decided to start cleaning up he tile in the shower myself. I sponged, and then started razor-blading off the grout residue. While doing so, it became clear that the marble had not been set with experience. The grout lines were very uneven, one piece had been set backwards (rough side out), and that many, many pieces had been chipped, nicked or scratched. I was heartbroken. The marble had cost over $1,000. A new man came to finish the floor of the shower, which was textural mosaic tile. He left for the day, leaving the shower floor so full of grout, you couldn't even see the tile at all. He told me to wait an hour or two, then just sponge it off. I've laid tile myself, so began sponging in less than an hour. I sponged until I couldn't do it anymore, and still, all the textural pieces were filled with grout. I used a toothbrush on the curb, and got those pieces pretty clean before it set. I've now spent about 15 hrs. cleaning grout and tile in my new shower. Far from done, I use a putty knife and razor blade. The man who came to finish the carpentry, could not even cut a piece of baseboard to fit. After multiple attempts. I also painted the final coat of paint in bathroom, because he had difficulty painting edges. So, I called the owner and asked that he come by to discuss my concerns. He arrived with his wife and children. This made things awkward. I showed them: chipped tiled, uncleaned grout, very messy caulked edges of shower (how to remedy?), a jagged piece of tile on the curb, one piece that had already popped out, the framed wall they built beside the shower is not plumb, broken vinyl pieces where they worked, baseboard not replaced and I requested that a certified electrician come check all the retiring that was done, so I'd have peace of mind that I wouldn't be electrocuted in the shower, since 220 had been moved around behind it. The owner took these concerns down and said they'd be in touch, and that my job had already gone way over budget. I had purchased all the materials myself and paid for everything beyond the base deal price. The plumber set all the new fixtures, so they didn't have to do. My job is still not finished, and I haven't heard from the owner since we talked 2 weeks ago. This company painted my house nearly 2 years ago, and did a good job (though the owner wasn't around then, either). I gave them a good review. They should stick with painting. Construction projects with unskilled labor and no oversight is not good business practice.
Response from Luxe Renovations
"My reputation means everything and not sure how things went so wrong at the end of this project since the time we spoke she told me she was happy, and if anything wouldn't even give a review but if did she would respond with at least with a overall of B. I do deeply apologize if at all my Family made you awkward, but you asked to meet on a Sunday, and as a small business owner that is the one day I dedicate to my family. I feel really bad that my wife and children made you feel this way since my wife has over 25 years experience in this industry, and even told you the choice of tile was not a good idea since it's brittle and can easily break. After she explained that you even mentioned that the place you bought it from said it wouldn't really be a great idea to use that product, but you insisted. The deal she purchased had an allotment of $1250 for materials in which the vanity she purchased was that cost, and when asked what happens when you go over it comes out of your pocket., and when I met with her I gave her a check for the $1250. The deal that was purchased was for a basic bathroom remodel, and the plumbing and electrical wasn't included since they had to patch into the main. I got her a couple different bids and let her know she would need to get a permit to do this work. She explained to me that doing so would be more money and didn't feel it was not necessary. I checked in on the phone more than in person since we are a small company, and the Foreman on the job had 20 years experience in this field, and since he worked with the client before she told me she felt good with the situation and the job. I will except all responsibility for this review since I'm the owner, and would like to note that both people that worked on this project have been fired. What really confuses me is if the other worker was so bad why has she reached out to him to do personal jobs at her house? If I earn a bad review I will accept it and move on, but please don't tell me to my face that you are happy and then when I'm gone say otherwise. I can take care and fix anything that is brought to my attention, but can't do so if not told. I do appreciate the business, but would ask clients and those that purchase deals to read the fine print before all parties move forward thanks."

I purchased the contractor for a day deal to lay a floating vinyl floor in a small bedroom. A contractor named Taylor came to my home to look at the project and told me he was not familiar with the flooring product but has workers with experience laying similar type flooring. On the day of installation, two men came to my house. Neither of them were familiar with the product and they had minimal tools with them. After placing the underlayment, they decided they needed to retrieve a saw to cut the flooring. They left for an early lunch and to get a saw which later turned out to be the wrong type saw for the job. When they returned from lunch, the older of the two men worked on his truck while the younger man tried to install the floor. I lent him my tools but he continued to struggle so we visited the flooring dealer who demonstrated proper installation. He instructed us to tap and not hammer the product as that would damage it. When we returned home, the young man continued to struggle with and hammer on the flooring until I could not bear it any longer. Halfway into the room I told them to go home and I would finish the floor. After they left, I inspected the floor closer and was not satisfied with the work. I carefully pulled the floor up and found a number of damaged pieces presumably from the young man hammering them. When I contacted Taylor to communicate my dissatisfaction, he told me the older of the two men was the one with the flooring background and the younger man was there to assist him. I told Taylor the older man did not do any of the work and was outside most of the time working on his truck. When I mentioned the two men arrived without proper tools for the project, Taylor's response was technically the deal only included labor. Really, are you kidding me? I also asked for a refund but the company has not offered one.

"My reputation means everything to me, as well as great customer service. This whole experience with this job has been very strange. I met with the client on a Sunday and felt like we really hit it off. She wanted to lay the new VRT flooring in her home and asked me if the deal would cover doing all 1500 sqft of her home. I told her that wasn't possible, but I would give her the same rate as the deal if she wanted to do that. She explained to me that she had big brothers that were handy, and wanted to learn how to do this and would be fine with just helping and watching until she had the hang of it. The flooring was a new type of floor, and the guys have yet to install this type, but have installed the other version of this flooring. They guys watched the recommended video and felt ready to go. The client insisted they go to the flooring expert where she bought the flooring from, so they all went down to better understand the flooring system they were installing. They arrived at a paint store which my crew members found odd since they thought they were going to a flooring specialist. They met with Lou the owner of D**** Color Center, which is actually a Ben Moore paint dealer that I have met before great guy. He let the client know he would have to watch the video, since he has never even laid flooring, but only sells it. They guys return to her home and the crew member that was doing most of the install realized she didn't have the right tools, and used his, and is still waiting for the phone call from her to retrieve his stuff. The truck that broke down was an unfortunate situation, but when informed I asked if you want it towed, and she said no it's fine, and even asked if the other crew member could just work with her and complete the 8 man hours she purchased. Once the hours paid for were used they asked her if everything was good, and if she had a good experience she let them both know it was great and that she would call us back. My crew member said go ahead and borrow my tools and call me when complete, so I can come get them from you. I get a call a few days later explain that the guys were really nice and easy to work with, but she felt more work could have got done and might want a refund. I explained to her that Angie's List does the refunds and that if the hours were worked it might be hard to get a refund and that if she would have told me before they worked we could have easily done a refund. I then let her know to tell me if they had bad scores since we give surveys out to ensure great work quality and service. My company gives notice when surveys come back poor, and she again explained they were great but just wanted more work done. I asked what I could do and she explained if you take the extra underlayment which would total around $400 she would give a bad review. I then arranged for Lou to take the underlayment back, so she could get a full refund but still got my bad review. Again I ask if there is anything my company can do to make it right with you I will, as long as it is legal, ethical, and morale thanks."

They did a fantastic job and we will use them again. The painters were professional, courteous, efficient and friendly. Throughout the day they checked in with me to confirm that I was pleased with the work. In the afternoon one of the painters asked that I come upstairs-- he pointed out a wall that had pencil notations of the height of my two grandchildren as the grew for the past ten years. He wanted to ask if I was sure I wanted it painted over. I did not, and it was so very thoughtful of him to ask. I highly recommend this company.

Dennis came out and gave an estimate. His estimate was very fair so I hired this company. Because of renovations I asked them to come on two different days to complete the job. It was no,problem for them. The crew showed up on time and were very professional. They worked very hard and did a tremendous job. They went above and beyond to make sure the work was done correctly and that I was happy with everything. They were so good my contractor hired them to paint my kitchen and has hired them for more jobs. I would highly recommend this company for any of your painting needs.

Did crown molding first then sheetrock repair. while first coating on sheetrock was drying, did not have additional work to do since the crown was already installed. bad project management. resulting in sheetrock repair not getting a second coat as needed. need to bring in another sheetrock guy to put on the second and final coat. crown mold inside corners have 1/8 to 3/16" gaps, had to fill with wood filler to make it look good. would not hire again for any finish type work.
Response from Luxe Renovations
"My reputation means everything to me. After meeting with the client they had a list ready and prepared for me to go over, which was great and helped allot. After going thru the list I explained that there was no way we could get thru the entire list. When the crew completed the assigned labor hours, I returned to check the work and get feedback from the client. He seemed very happy and the crew was able to finish all the crown molding in the entire house. The main thing that he mentioned when I asked him his overall experience, was there are a few gaps but the cost of what they did would have been 5 times the cost of the deal and how it was totally worth it. Please let me know if there was something else we could have done to make your experience better. Thanks again for the opportunity to work with you and your wife."
