"My reputation means everything, and in this case we have the situation of misunderstanding. The deal we used was for wood rot, and or restoration repair for a certain amount of man hours as laid out in the details from Angies List. I ask of anyone that buys deals please read everything that is included, and please understand what you're buying before you purchase these deals. It happens almost every time someone buys a deal, and then reaches out to me expecting everything to be done, and I understand that there is a details section, and there is a set amount of work that is in the details for these deals. The work from the deal was completed he was happy he wanted to schedule Painting, but didn't want to pay for the amount owed for the deal until we painted and I told him several times to please read what he purchased and the paint wasn't included in the scope of work completed. We can come back and schedule a time to paint. We actually had a date set for him but then had to reschedule,'since we are about three or four days off of the date he was scheduled, so I personally reached out to the client, but he never responded except to lash out and give me a bad review. I'm fine with having him tell people not to recommend me, I just want the truth to be told and to let people know and realize they need to look at the detail of these deals. I would' like the opportunity to work together but clearly it's not a right fit,!and I don't feel good about the fact that I can be punished for doing what was laid out in the deal, and then have a bad review when we don't given extra things above and beyond what the deal included thanks."
"My reputation means everything to me, and again we have another Big Deal purchased, and not one of the upgraded options were used, or purchased on this job. The client speaks about the prep, but we did the amount of prep they purchased, and In fact not one issues came up until after a year past the warranty. Now they say we didn't come out, this is really upsetting, since twice I sent different crews out on my dine to address things that were not even things that were not caused by us. They walked on the wet patio, and even tho it wasn't are fault I still sent someone out fix it. The issue with the paint was mainly because they insisted in buying the lowest quality paint from Miller Paints, and my company won't even hold a warranty with Miller. We still did the job and felt good about the outcome. We even came out again this year, and I explained to her husband none of the issues he was having was the workmanship issue which is what we warranty. All the problems he had were paint related and I explained to him that he will need to contact the representative for Miller Paint's, and warned him they will most likely not take care of his problem. I reach out to any of the members that may read this, please be advise when you buy a big deal to read all the fine print and to upgrade where needed, otherwise it's not really worth the savings thanks."
"My reputation means everything, and this has been the toughest year to date to find good and qualified workers it has been almost impossible. Me and the client hit it off when we met at least I thought we did. The job got delayed several times because of the lack of people I have working for me, but gave the client the opportunity to use on of my Subcontractors, but he declined. The job did have some hiccups, but the only time we didn't check in with the client was upon completion. He paid in full and said he was happy, but then waited several weeks to write this complaint. He wanted more caulking which we reached the not to exceed amount, and he told me he would do it himself to save the cost. I really enjoyed working for him and thought things were good. I apologize things didn't go well for you, but wish you the best fthanks again."
"My reputation means everything. The strange thing about this is that after the purchase we reached out and thanked you for the purchase, and asked for you to call about scheduling. There was never a call or email from you until this review. I'm growing tired of the way this review system works. If we earn a bad review for poor workmanship, or just lack of experience or a bad job, then I totally understand. Receiving a bad review for the client not reaching out to schedule makes no sense. As a contractor I will do whatever I can to make sure the job goes well and you have a great experience, but it is difficult when there is no response."
"My reputation means everything to me. When me and client met there were no issues, and we agreed on setting a time convenient for the client and proceeded to try to get to the job. I'm equally as frustrated as you are in this job, it's almost like the stars would have to align for this job to happen. We have had a few staffing issues, but in this market every company has. There is never a good excuse, but in this Job everything that could happen did, and to be judged and given such a poor rating after not even doing the work is a bitter pill to swallow."
"My reputation means everything to me. I don't understand on these deals why there isn't more information on what really the deal is. The list of items that the client had was huge, and I had to remind her numerous times that we will not get through all the items, so to prioritize them. I explained that trips to the store count as the time worked, and she assured me she would have that handled. I even offered to get the supplies on one of my many Home Depot trips. She never once talks about how we had it scheduled and at the last minute told us while causing my Crew to lose a full day, and the commit about the email is strange since I had my email hacked, and had problems with several emails, and she was aware of this, and then later asked for the workers personal information, so he may come work at a later time for a much lower cost. I'm sorry that it didn't go as planned, but you got almost your entire list done for over half the cost!"
"My reputation means everything to me. This was a total misunderstanding from the start. The client purchased a labor only deal. The first guy tried, but wasn't the most experienced, so I wasn't charging her for the extra time. She seamed very happy, but kept calling me to do extra work. The last time we talked she wanted more work done for free. I explained to her that we can't continue to do work for no cost, and next thing I know I'm getting this review. Please let me know before posting a review, so I may help take care of any situation that may arise thanks."
"My reputation means everything and not sure how things went so wrong at the end of this project since the time we spoke she told me she was happy, and if anything wouldn't even give a review but if did she would respond with at least with a overall of B. I do deeply apologize if at all my Family made you awkward, but you asked to meet on a Sunday, and as a small business owner that is the one day I dedicate to my family. I feel really bad that my wife and children made you feel this way since my wife has over 25 years experience in this industry, and even told you the choice of tile was not a good idea since it's brittle and can easily break. After she explained that you even mentioned that the place you bought it from said it wouldn't really be a great idea to use that product, but you insisted. The deal she purchased had an allotment of $1250 for materials in which the vanity she purchased was that cost, and when asked what happens when you go over it comes out of your pocket., and when I met with her I gave her a check for the $1250. The deal that was purchased was for a basic bathroom remodel, and the plumbing and electrical wasn't included since they had to patch into the main. I got her a couple different bids and let her know she would need to get a permit to do this work. She explained to me that doing so would be more money and didn't feel it was not necessary. I checked in on the phone more than in person since we are a small company, and the Foreman on the job had 20 years experience in this field, and since he worked with the client before she told me she felt good with the situation and the job. I will except all responsibility for this review since I'm the owner, and would like to note that both people that worked on this project have been fired. What really confuses me is if the other worker was so bad why has she reached out to him to do personal jobs at her house? If I earn a bad review I will accept it and move on, but please don't tell me to my face that you are happy and then when I'm gone say otherwise. I can take care and fix anything that is brought to my attention, but can't do so if not told. I do appreciate the business, but would ask clients and those that purchase deals to read the fine print before all parties move forward thanks."
"My reputation means everything to me, as well as great customer service. This whole experience with this job has been very strange. I met with the client on a Sunday and felt like we really hit it off. She wanted to lay the new VRT flooring in her home and asked me if the deal would cover doing all 1500 sqft of her home. I told her that wasn't possible, but I would give her the same rate as the deal if she wanted to do that. She explained to me that she had big brothers that were handy, and wanted to learn how to do this and would be fine with just helping and watching until she had the hang of it. The flooring was a new type of floor, and the guys have yet to install this type, but have installed the other version of this flooring. They guys watched the recommended video and felt ready to go. The client insisted they go to the flooring expert where she bought the flooring from, so they all went down to better understand the flooring system they were installing. They arrived at a paint store which my crew members found odd since they thought they were going to a flooring specialist. They met with Lou the owner of D**** Color Center, which is actually a Ben Moore paint dealer that I have met before great guy. He let the client know he would have to watch the video, since he has never even laid flooring, but only sells it. They guys return to her home and the crew member that was doing most of the install realized she didn't have the right tools, and used his, and is still waiting for the phone call from her to retrieve his stuff. The truck that broke down was an unfortunate situation, but when informed I asked if you want it towed, and she said no it's fine, and even asked if the other crew member could just work with her and complete the 8 man hours she purchased. Once the hours paid for were used they asked her if everything was good, and if she had a good experience she let them both know it was great and that she would call us back. My crew member said go ahead and borrow my tools and call me when complete, so I can come get them from you. I get a call a few days later explain that the guys were really nice and easy to work with, but she felt more work could have got done and might want a refund. I explained to her that Angie's List does the refunds and that if the hours were worked it might be hard to get a refund and that if she would have told me before they worked we could have easily done a refund. I then let her know to tell me if they had bad scores since we give surveys out to ensure great work quality and service. My company gives notice when surveys come back poor, and she again explained they were great but just wanted more work done. I asked what I could do and she explained if you take the extra underlayment which would total around $400 she would give a bad review. I then arranged for Lou to take the underlayment back, so she could get a full refund but still got my bad review. Again I ask if there is anything my company can do to make it right with you I will, as long as it is legal, ethical, and morale thanks."
"My reputation means everything to me. After meeting with the client they had a list ready and prepared for me to go over, which was great and helped allot. After going thru the list I explained that there was no way we could get thru the entire list. When the crew completed the assigned labor hours, I returned to check the work and get feedback from the client. He seemed very happy and the crew was able to finish all the crown molding in the entire house. The main thing that he mentioned when I asked him his overall experience, was there are a few gaps but the cost of what they did would have been 5 times the cost of the deal and how it was totally worth it. Please let me know if there was something else we could have done to make your experience better. Thanks again for the opportunity to work with you and your wife."
