"[Member Name Removed] was a mowing customer of ours since April 2016 and was challenging from day one. This year she requested a bid on some spring cleanup and we were slow to get the bid to her because of the volume of bid requests we had in the Spring. When we did get it to her, she tried to force us into doing the work for a lesser price by saying that the job was smaller when she requested the bid. Among other things, she also tried to get us to agree to pay her for each day if there were any delays. We are guessing that this is what she means by giving us a chance to redeem ourselves. We were not okay with these terms nor with the way she was treating us in emails. We turned down the project because of [Member Name Removed]'s demands and the way she was treating us. When we did, she became extremely angry. She then went out of her way to threaten our company by saying in an email that she was "VERY eager to share [her] experiences with as many others as [she] can." In emails to us about this project she initially stated that she was only unhappy with the time it took to get her bid but then after we turned down the project she went online with a completely different mentality. It's worth noting that when we turned down this project, we contacted another landscaping company that we know well and they indicated to us that they would be willing to help [Member Name Removed] and get her on the schedule quickly. We gave [Member Name Removed] their contact info. We also gave [Member Name Removed] a refund on 2 mowings as a gesture of goodwill. Finally, this customer was not requesting a bid on an existing contract as she indicated. The existing contract was for mowing and not spring clean-up. We were not late servicing her existing contract. In addition, we did not "quit" any part of this contract. We simply turned down a different project that [Member Name Removed] asked us to bid on."
"Customer rescheduled several times and it was very difficult to keep moving other customers and our crews around as a result. On the day our supervisor left for 3 hours, a faulty hitch on one of our dump trucks broke on the highway and our 14,000 lb trailer came off and blocked a lane of traffic. Our supervisor left to make sure everyone was okay, deal with police that were on seen, and use another truck to move the trailer to a safe place. While we are sorry this customer was upset with us about the 3 hour absence, it was a true emergency. Our supervisor did return and inspected the work. We are happy to back our work on this job if any issues do arise due to our supervisor's absence."
