We are very pleased with the work that Kris and his team (Jesse and Brian) completed for us. They were professional and skilled. Pricing was very reasonable for the high quality of the work performed. Kris was straightforward about his availability and the work was completed within the timeframe given. Would definitely recommend and hire again.

I had a couple of concerning electrical problems at a residential location and the owner Kris was able to fit me in same day. The team that was sent arrived in about 30 minutes and completed both repairs in the same amount of time. The team that made the repairs were fast, friendly, and knowledgeable about the situation. They answered every question that I had in clear and concise language that I could understand. They even took the time to explain to me in detail the electrical failure that happened and why, and how it was fixed. I am really glad that I went with Ion Electric and I will absolutely be a returning customer for future electrical projects and problems that I may have in the future.

Ion Electric was great to work with. They responded to my inquiry faster than the other electricians, and had the job complete the very next day. Cost was slightly higher than the other quote but worth it: -Before even starting, Kris (the main point of contact) asked for picture of my breaker box and car charger, verifying everything was as needed -Both the owner and the electricians themselves were extremely polite and friendly. -Ion coordinated the permit and subsequent inspection with our local city. -I got text alerts on my phone showing when the electrician was arriving (including GPS tracking to see their location realtime) Very convenient overall. Would definitely recommend them in the future.

We discovered that our 1913 craftsman home had faulty electrical wiring throughout the home that was in desperate need of improvement. Ion electric did a very thorough assessment of the property and what would be needed. Due to it being an older home there were some challenges figuring out how to get wiring to certain parts of the home but the workers did a great job minimizing the required access points that reduced need for additional drywall repairs. The workers were professional and courteous and went above & beyond to ensure we had a successful project. Everything worked out well and I would hire Ion again.

Extremely smooth, the workers on site went quietly about their work, keeping my wife and filled in every step of the way. Worked cleanly and did a great cleanup at the end of multiple days of work. Kris (the owner) was in touch every step and was wonderfully accommodating on our schedule, as we have a new kindergartner that likes his morning routines. His guys showed up later than they would have probably liked to, in order to smooth out our routine. Many thanks and can't recommend this company highly enough 100% will hire again in the future

I had a couple outlets that were giving me trouble and causing non of the outlets on the wall to work. Ken arrived on time, tightened one outlet to fix it, and repaired the other one so that I have working outlets on both walls again. He was extremely quick and professional; definitely a man that knows his profession inside and out. I would definitely hire again and recommend to others.

A team of two electricians arrived on 24 August 2020 to investigate the electrical anomalies we were experiencing. They spent all day inspecting the circuit breaker panel and disconnecting multiple switches and outlets. By the end of the day, they thought they had resolved the problem, but when they reconnected everything, the symptoms returned. So, they decided to come back the next day to continue their investigation. On 25 August 2020, the lead electrician came back for a few minutes, to continue searching for the cause of the electrical problems, but was still unsuccessful in determining the source. He said he would come back tomorrow. On 26 August 2020, the two electricians returned and finally identified and corrected the cause of the electrical problems we were having. The lead electrician explained that the problems were caused by a loose grounding wire in the circuit breaker panel, which he had initially checked but did not notice. After they left, we realized that a three-way light circuit on the stairs and balcony was not working properly. This was not one of the original symptoms. So we asked the team to come back and correct this problem, which they had created. On 4 September 2020, the team came back and corrected the wiring problem with the three-way switches for the lights on the stairs and balcony. The owner of the company, to his credit, apologized for the fact that it had taken so long to identify the root cause of our electrical problem and only charged us for his cost, not the electricians' usual hourly rate. And, he did not charge us for the return visit to correct the problem with the three-way light switches on the stairs and balcony. Overall, the electricians were always courteous and professional, and kept us informed during their investigation and analysis of our problem. They were pleasant to work with. It was just unfortunate that the investigation and resolution took longer than any of us expected. I would not hesitate to call on them again in the future, if needed.

I keep everything written down as it happens on a old school minella file folder. I do this with each project to keep me organized so I don't waste the contractors time. It works great so I first called Ion Electric about a month before they came out to my home to do the work. I spoke to Kris directly describing in detail everything that I needed done for saftey first then if we had any time left what I wanted to get done in the order of importance. I did not want to add any surprises after they got here. I spoke to several companies and got feedback on how to be successful with the list of electrical items. This process took about a month. I decided on Kris's company. He gave me an appiontment to get the bathroom ceiling fan andWednesday annd Thursday's, he called me Wednesday after 3P and said that he wanted to move my appiontment to Thursday morning at 8 am. I told him that I was planning to go to the Seattle light store he was telling me about that day for a dimmer switch and some other parts depending on what they had. He said that they had parts availibility so I agreed to change the appiontment to the day before the original appiontment. On Thursday 9/24/2020 they hit a little traffic and arived at 8:15 am. I quickly went over the basic details with them as I did with the Owner, Kris. Ken did the bathromm ceiling fan and Sonia did the wall switch relocation and light exchange with me helping where I could keeping things clean, taking the original light fixture from Sonia when she was on the ladder, getting what tools I had to help, sweeping the area and taking a brush to both of them when they were done. The bathroom fan switch was done and the previous work done checked out okay. They did not have a dimmer on the company truck or a saftey flat wall switch plate to cover the old bedroom's wall switch. They did not give me a reciept for my check. Khris only booked the two electritions for 2 hours then they had to go to the next appiontment. I showed Ken my postlamp at the end of my driveway because he parked next to it. It is original to the house and one of the three candle lights do not work, he said it's a simple part to fix the original light and they would come back and fix it at a later date, they did not have the part on the company truck and could come back to fix it on another estimate. Call 206-954-9975 to scedule an appiontment for a estimate. FRIDAY,9/25/2020, I was out running arrons when Kris called my cell phone and said the Ken had time to put on the dimmer switch could I be home in a half hour, I agreed, I unscrewd the exsisting screws and took the hardware off the floor so the barn door could be lifted out of the way of the screwdriver. Ken got to my house and said he didn't have the dimmer switch with him because they get their parts from a place in Auburn and he couldn't drive there and then back to my house, an hour round trip, with the dimmer switch in 30 minutes so he just put the flat saftey plate over the old wall switch. He then spent 10 minutes going with me around my home looking at the 3 outlets that I needed converted from a 2 plug to a 4 plug outlet and told me that I would get the estimate by email so when I had enough money saved up ,I could schedule the work to be done. The cooler weather is best for going in the crawl space for the 2 ceiling fans I was told then he left my home after a 15 minute visit. I waited until Monday afternoon for a callback or email. I called Ion Electric to make sure they had my correct email address and left a message. I then went to work. I left 2 more messages for Kris explaining that I called the manufacture of the light and any dimmer would work with the $50. light so just a basic bar style dimmer that you slide up and down to control the light would work and to call me back so I could schedule the appiontment to get the dimmer installed. I also said that the reciept he promised to mail me had not arrived yet from their Renton based company. I used to be a mail lady so I went to the Maple Valley post office and asked if they had the letter in their back room where they keep the misrouted letters. They checked and did not have anything for me from Ion Electric so I waited 7 days to give them time to catch up on their orders and business paperwork. Wednesday October 7th my daughter was scheduled for a 5:30 A c-section in Oregon so I could not sleep so I decided to go to Ion Electric in person to make the appiontment because it was becoming obvious that the owner was obvioding me. I got to {Company information redacted} around 9A. It was a house in a residential neighborhood. The same Ion Electric van was parked on the street in front of the house. I called 206-954-9975 and got the receptionist, Paul so I asked him to send the owner a message to give me a call to schedule an appiontment and that I had the whole day off except for a 10:30A dental appiontment. Paul sent him an email and a text message. I did not go to the front door of the house because that would upset me if I wasn't exspecting the person. I went to my dentist appiontment then called Ion Electric when I got out of the dental office, !0:37A, I spoke to a guy named Brody, he sent the information to Kris. At 1P.M. I got home from home depot, where I bought the dimmer for the downstairs bedroom soIon Electric could just come by and finnish the original job they started on Thursday 9/24/2020. Now they didn't even have to get the part to finish the bedroom light switch. I then called them and spoke to Brandon who sent that detail to Kris. I then noticed that light on my answer machine was flashing so I thought Kris called me when I was at the store. The answer machine would not let me into the message to hear who called and the answer machine is also behind my laptop so you can't see it unless the laptop is closed and it never is closed so I made a call to my daughter and then to Ion Electric checking to see if Kris called me when I was out. I spoke to Brody again he did not know if Kris called so I said please have him call my cell phone and not my land line because my land line answer machine was not working properly and I did not want to miss his call. I gave Brody my cell phone number so Kris would call the right number and not waste his time playing phone tag. Brody must of sent him that message because Kris called my answer machine land line at 3:30 p.m. and I answered it. After I thanked him for calling me back on my day off Kris said that he mailed me my receipt for the 9/24/2020 job that was not completed on Tuesday, 10/6/2020. He had my email address and I have a printer that's much faster but he said he would mail me the receipt so let's see what's in the mail today. My gut says it's not going to be there because of how hard it has been to get a hold of the guy but maybe they are just really busy with the $5,000.00 dollar generator installations. One of the guys said those are their favorite jobs, I can't remember who said it. I told Kris that he would not get rich off me before they came out but I like the old school receipts so when I find a good contractor, I have a record that I can call so I can give them more work. That's why I prefer the paper reciepts to the electronic easy to loose receipts. Kris talked over me then hung up on me when I was responding polightly. I called him back thinking the call was dropped by mistake and he said to stop calling him. I then contacted Angies List for help. I explained the whole story to a lady named Chessa and she emailed me the reveiw blank form to fill out to start the complaint resolution process. I appologize for it taking until 2P.M. your eastern time to submit the form. I appreciate your help with this no store front company. Respectfully, Tracy I'm in the complaint resolution process now to get the job completed. I would hire them again if I had all the parts at my house before they came to do the work only.

"[Member Name Removed], I feel bad that it has to come to this. I gave you a discounted rate to begin with because you said a Handyman you hired, left in the middle of the job and left you high and dry.... When my techs come out to perform the work we were hired to do, you were perfectly sweet until they finished up the task we were scheduled to do, then snarled at them and flew into a rage when they couldn't do all the extras you asked them to do because they had to get to the next customer's appointment. You then called me to rage about it in unhinged and incoherent manner, not only scaring my techs, but me as well. After this, you made them late to their next appointment because you insisted on a hard copy of the invoice. We no longer give hard copies of invoices- to save paper, we have moved to electronic invoices. Finally after a half hour, you let them leave when Ken promised to mail you a copy and I promised to send an estimator to look at your other tasks you wanted done. Because I felt responsible for having to reschedule you for the initial service call and against my better judgement because I thought you might be insane, I sent Ken back at no charge with a dimmer that I purchased for you, to install it and estimate your other projects. When he got there, you told him you no longer wanted the dimmer, so he installed the blank plate you asked for, spent some time walking around your house taking notes of all the "wish list" tasks you wanted done, on my dime mind you, and then left. Since then, it has been a non stop barrage of phone calls and messages with my receptionist- to the point I have had to block your numbers. It's clear to me, there is more going on here than just needing electrical services. I do my very utmost with all my customers to provide professional and quality customer service and electrical installations. Unfortunately, this is one of those occasions where my best was just not good enough and it could never, ever be enough."

Kris, the owner, was really friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful in setting it all up. The bid came in about $3,000 cheaper than from a well rated competitor. Ken and Sofi did the work in 1 1/2 days. I would be cautious about using this company. Kris forgot to tell me that the $300 minimum first hour charge includes the electrician's driving time. You aren't told where they are driving from so this can mean that you are charged $300 +$30 tax for being at your home for 30 minutes, or less, depending on when they leave their last job. After I had had a junior electrician/journeyman here for one hour (he did swap out the ceiling lights quickly), I was told that the bill was $495. And he couldn't take a credit card, so I should pay by check. But if he could take a credit card, I would have been charged an additional 4%, so then it would have been $514, for one hour of work. In the end, I discussed this with Kris and he agreed that he hadn't told me about the extra driving time charge, and that the electrician had started and finished when I said (I timed it) but that I should have known that driving time is part of the time calculated. Oh, and I should have known that the blank space on my breaker panel was filed. All I thought was, If only I had known what I know now....

"I’m very sorry you feel this way about my company and my service. Not how I want my company perceived or represented at all. I always strive to my utmost to give every one of my clients the highest caliber of customer service at the most competitive price. I think this is clearly shown by the numerous positive “A” rated reviews on Angie’[Member Information Removed] List and others. Obviously, we failed you [Member Name Removed]- there was a miscommunication somewhere. I thought that I had clearly communicated my billing and how the first hour is more than the others to account for drive time and the fact that I have a one hour minimum to cover the cost of paying an employee to drive from one job to another and the gas cost, associated with the drive. Also, with regards to the Journeyman Tech I sent out to your house, you’re right, while he has many years in the trade and is extremely knowledgeable, that was his first day as a service tech and he was very nervous. The fact that you seemed very angry with him from the time he got there and yelled at him several times only made him more nervous unfortunately. I can tell you that he was a nervous wreck after leaving your house and very nearly quit. I did take $150.00 off of the $450.00 total bill to try and make things right with you, but apparently you were still not satisfied with this effort and were still very angry. - Again I apologize that you had a negative experience. Thank you for your honest feedback- I can guarantee at least that I’ll learn from this. Onwards and upwards."

Kris is the owner of Ion Electric. Ion is new and I gather just getting started. But Kris is an expert electrician with many years experience in the field, and handled my call to request scheduling for electric services very professionally. He was patient with my questions and took the time to understand the issues I was having with my house. Ion was timely, accurate, and very professional at all times. The service was scheduled for the day after I called, which is rare. Shane is the electrician that performed the work. He is highly skilled and knowledgeable with a lot of electrical experience (20+ years). He arrived on time and wasted no time beginning work and getting the job done. This job took several hours to complete because I needed the following services: Replace an improper external ground wire in my home's electrical system by adding a new solid copper ground wire and new acorns on the rods. The wire had to be buried to meet code, so there was some digging that Shane had to do. Shane also upgraded the electrical panel with 9 new arc-fault circuit interrupter (AFCI) combination breakers in my existing panel to match 5 previously installed AFCI breakers. This brought the panel up to current code. Shane recommend Arc Fault Combo breakers specific to my panel as they are safer than the previously installed GFCI breakers and can prevent potential fires caused by arc faults. A little Internet research on my part helped educate me about AFCI and confirmed Shane’s recommendation. After all that, Shane upgraded an existing plug outlet to a tamper/water resistant ground fault outlet and relocated the outlet because it was too close to my on- demand gas water heater (A big safety risk! Thanks for catching that one, Shane!). My house was rewired about a decade ago and the wiring was fairly current. However, there was some sloppy work done by the previous homeowner, and Shane made some great recommendations based on items he found to be either unsafe or outside of the standard of practice today. I felt that he was not upselling me. I asked about the quality of my panel and he was honest and pointed out a number of options to improve safety and upgrade to current code. Shane also checked all of the ground connections in the panel and found many of them were lose. He tightened those. I am somewhat familiar with electrical work (my Dad was an electrician), so I knew enough to tell that these guys know what they are doing. They are both licensed and bonded (I checked the WA gov site). They did a great job and I am very satisfied with Ion. The amount charged was as quoted. Since this was a fairly big job and I asked for some important upgrades, the job was expensive but worth every dollar. Finding an experienced and honest electrician is sometimes challenging, so when you find a couple of very good ones that know electrical and are honest, don't worry about cost. Expertise and quality is what you want. There is no substitute for safety where electrical wiring is concerned (Dad hammered that into me and my brothers’ heads repeatedly). My home and my family are much safer today for having these electrical system upgrades by Ion.
