It was time to update the electrical system in my home (built in 1926). Isthmus Electrical was recommended by a friend who had the same type of work done in their old home. John and company did an excellent job. They were able to do the work while I was out of town - which was very helpful, since 2/3rds of the house needed to be re-wired. He also arranged for plaster repair following placement of the new wires. This made a large job - from a homeowner's perspective, relatively painless.

John gave us an accurate estimate to complete many upgrades including new can lights, retrofitting old can lights, installing and rerouting outlets and switches, fixing and running the main ground, fixing conduit that had pulled from the main and installing new basement lights. We added a couple new projects after they were here and they accommodated those with no problem. The electricians, Jeremiah and Zac were a pleasure to work with. They cleaned up everything and explained exactly what they were doing and why. We thought the price was reasonable for all the work that was done, they spent most of three days working. Overall, we were very pleased.

Very good! I got a call from them at 10 am and they showed up an hour later. The work took a couple hours to complete. They were friendly and professional.

I was very impressed with the speed involved with responding to my voicemail.  I phoned in a request on Sunday, and even though they were busy, they were in our driveway Tuesday morning.  Very courteous, and very careful regarding keeping things clean.  Walked through the situation and asked the right questions before beginning with the testing equipment.  I appreciated that as there was not a lot of the unnecessary testing that drives up time.  When done with the repairs they explained what they did and why it was necessary relative to the original problem. <br /> Very professional in all aspects of the phone communication and service call.  Considering the speed of the response I was very impressed with the reasonable price.  We are adding them to our "approved" list for any future electrical work.  <br /> <br /> <br />

Don and Kevin did a great job with the knob & tube fixes and installations.  They arrived when they said they would, kept all working area clean, made minimal holes in the walls to do the knob & tube fixes, and were very friendly and professional.  Don even asked in advance if I had a cat or dog that might try to get free, in the context of bringing all the needed working equipment in the house.  The experience of what to do, how to do it and when to do it was there.  I would definitely use Isthmus Electric again! <br />

Despite the many challenges involved with the messed up older wiring, the electrician was able to get everything done in a timely fashion. <br />

We hired Isthmus because of their experience replacing knob and tube wiring in old houses and were very happy with the work they did for us.  Good communication: they followed up on my message immediately and had a detailed bid to us within a week.  Pricing was clear and there were no surprises. They started the job when they said they would and took about two weeks to complete it. They made minimal cuts to our walls and arranged for a plasterer to come in and fill them in. They were meticulous with cleanup at the end of each day.  Very reasonable price, and nice guys, too.  Highly recommend! <br />

All phone calls were quickly answered, due to the sale of our home we needed work done rather quickly, they accommodated our timeline really well, Don and Kevin did the work and did an awesome job on all of it.  We would highly recommend them for anyone needing this service. <br />

I had non-working doorbells.  I also wanted some guidance on exterior lighting.  There was initial misunderstanding because he thought he was just coming to give me quote but I needed doorbells fixed ASAP, so initially was a little perterbed.  However he did fix the doorbells (bad transformer that had to be replaced - luckily he had transformer in stock in his vehicle).  After that, he went out of his way to show me different light options at City Lights on Stoughton Road.  Very happy with work and he is in the neighborhood so will definitely consider him when I get around to the lights or have other electrical needs. <br />

Based on my description of the problem, he provided a clear explanation over the phone of what had most likely occurred and how it could be fixed. He arrived promptly, fixed the problem efficiently, and cleaned up after. On top of that, he was incredibly pleasant! I would absolutely call him again. <br />

John came out and gave me an estimate.  He was careful to explain what needed to be done.  Everyone arrived on time on the scheduled start date and the job was completed on schedule.  The electricians were pleasant and professional.  They cleaned up after themselves.  I am using them again for another small job I have. <br />

They were excellent. They replaced the knob and two wiring in our home for about half the price of the six other estimates we had. They took time to find the least invasive process, allowed us to stay in the home which other people say they need us to leave for a week, did it quickly and fast. The city inspector was pleased with their work. I assume the quality of their work is good.

John was very thorough and explained everything he was doing. He checked all the wiring on that circuit, i.e., connections, junction boxes, and fixtures. <br />

Very prompt service. Don was very friendly and professional. Removed original light fixture and swapped out to a purchased combination light fixture/ceiling fan.  Went above and beyond to troubleshoot some problems with the actual ceiling fan so that the entire job was completed in a few hours. Will happily keep them in mind the next time I need assistance. <br />

Provided a detailed estimate of materials and labor for different parts of the project; happily provided estimate for option to phase project over two occurances. Formatting of estimate was a little wonky, but all the info was there. <br /> Team was curteous and professional. Quality of work was excellent. Subcontracted a plasterer whose work was really impressive and included that in the estimate. You would never know where they opened holes in the walls or ceilings (we had the matching paint on hand and completed that ourselves). <br /> Arranged all necessary inspections. Cleaned up after completing work. Helpful in answering questions before and during project. <br /> Completed work on time as promised. <br /> To improve to A: <br /> 1. Develop a more structured administrative process (better formatted estimate in PDF, not plain text email; wasn't always clear with whom I was emailing). <br /> 2. More attention to minor aesthetic choices during the project, such as switch plate selection or protective coverings over exposed wire. <br /> <br />

He is prompt, courteous, on time, and does exactly what he says he will.  He stays true to his bid as long as the service is as planned.  We were happy with his service.
