I wanted to echo some other reviews on here; do not give any money to this crook. I hired Dan for some engineering work for an addition to my house. He came out for the initial consultation and seemed nice enough, but didn't take a single note of what we talked about. The contract said he'd have the initial drawings done in 4 weeks. Finally 3 months and many unanswered emails/calls later he finally delivered some drawings that were so far off the mark from what we discussed I was actually embarrassed for him. I once again went over the details of what I was looking for and he said he'd make the changes. At this point he completely ghosted me and didn't respond to any of my contact attempts. I finally had to submit a credit card charge back to get my money back from this low life. TLDR: Dan Canda is an absolutely worthless individual and will try to steal your money. DO NOT USE!

Unfortunately, our experience with Dan was about as bad as it could be. We were given a timeline of 5 weeks in mid February and, after months of ignored emails, finally received drawings in mid-June, 17 weeks later. Once submitted for permitting, the county realized that the snow load information was incorrect and rejected the plans. Frustrating to say the least. In discussing the requisite changes over the phone, Dan seemed unaware of fairly standard industry terms in residential construction (rake wall, difference between ceiling joist and roof rafter, cut roof vs truss, etc) which made us uncomfortable, to say the least. Keep in mind, this is after months of radio silence and considering we'd have to start from scratch with another engineer. Things were discussed three, four times and necessary changes still not made. Fortunately we work with our building department a lot, and these can be addressed in the field. I understand that delays happen. I understand that things can get complicated, often quickly. That said, I expect a level of professionalism, communication, and competence when paying someone for their service. You're a smart consumer and will do as you wish, but we will never, under any circumstance, be using Dan and J2.26 Engineering ever again.

Excellent. Dan saved us money on the overall cost of the project as well as providing a more resilient structure for us. He worked hard to get the drawings done in a timely fashion. Also, he is very personable and upbeat.

Dan Canda at J2.26 is excellent. He knows his stuff and is always professional and extremely timely. I recommend Dan to all of my friends and family and would absolutely use him again.
