It was the most stressful and horrible experience we ever had in our lives! Don't get sucked in by their representatives who totally make you believe they are honest people just because they are veteran owned!!!!

MOVING FROM FLORIDA TO MICHIGAN LOW BID INCREASED TO 4 TIMES. CHEAP SUB-CONTRACTING, DESTROYED FURNITURE, PALTRY RECOMPENSE • On April 3, 2021, Jacob and Sons gave us a “binding estimate” of $3726.37 to move the contents of our 2,600 sq. foot home from Naples, Florida to Livonia, Michigan. They did not send anyone to inspect our home or belongings. On April 25, the price increased to $9706.06 still without visiting our home. AND THAT’S NOT THE WORST THEY DID TO US. • After they picked up our goods on April 28, the price increased to $13,650.00. • AND EVEN THAT’S NOT THE WORST THEY DID TO US • We would not be able to find another mover in two days. The closing of the sale of our home was April was two days to go. Then they stored our belongings for a month while we bought a 1700 sq.ft condo in Michigan. The belongings we brought did not fill the condo. • On May 26 we received the following Email from Melissa, of Jacobs Dispatch Dept.. • “On the day of the delivery your final payment $5,422.70 MUST!!! be in cash or postal money order (from the United States Post Office) only. MUST BE IN CASH!!!!! MUST BE IN CASH!!!!The driver will require payment prior to the offloading of the truck.” We thought this strange, but they had our belongings. We had already paid them $8000.00 plus. IF WE WANTED OUR BELONGINGS, WE BETTER PAY IN CASH. • The truck arrived about 9 pm in the dark. It was not a Jacobs truck. I COULD NOT SEE ANY NAME ON THE TRUCK IN THE DARK. It was driven by a guy named Inna Korotkova cell phone (704) 852 8487. He had two inexperienced helpers and none of the trio were in uniforms. We looked inside at one or two items to make sure they had our belongings. All we could see were mangled boxes. The furniture was buried under the boxes. I took a quick video of the inside but it was dark. It looked a shambles of broken boxes in there. It took till 1 am for them to unload. We noticed a few small pieces of furniture were broken. • At about 12.30 am the last piece of furniture was unloaded and we now understood why they had demanded CASH. !!!!!Two of the legs had snapped !!!!of our beautiful mahogany dining table. A table that could be extended with two extra leaves. It could seat 10 people. THIS DAMAGE COULD ONLY HAVE BEEN DONE BY DROPPING THE TABLE FROM A GOOD HEIGHT, OR ELSE THE TRUCK CARRYING OUR BELONGINGS WAS IN A CRASH. • Over the forty plus years we have owned this table it has been transported from Argentina to Massachusetts, once within Massachusetts, and moved from Massachusetts to Florida without a scratch on the table. • We informed Jacobs and Sons of the damages. They replied with the following message from the Mellissa at Jacobs & Sons. “Please register your claim: [*** Link removed ***] Your information will be immediately saved in their system and a Claim Registration Acknowledgement Notice will be sent to the email you have provided within 24-72 Hr. • Always at Your Service! Mellissa. (THE SAME MELLISSA WHO TOLD US THAT WE HAD TO PAY CASH TO GET OUR BELONGINS BACK.) BELOW IS THE WORST THING THEY DID TO US. • The “Moving Claims system” appears to be designed to make it extremely difficult for anyone to make a claim. We are in our 80’s so it was doubly difficult. As you complete the forms with the information they demand, pop up advertising that has nothing to do with the moving business, makes it difficult to know what to click next. Also, WE customers, are tasked with providing all the documentation generated by Jacobs & Sons. Not only that, but it must to assembled in a single document attached to an Email. Ordinary mortals like us cannot not do this. We had to pay to have it done by professionals. • We sent the information to Moving Claims. A couple of weeks later we had a message from them to tell us we had screwed up. “Kindly start again and follow our instructions.” We did and it was accepted. A month later they sent us a settlement letter. $50 compensation for the ruined antique table.

Communication was an excellent—very friendly moving team. I can't recommend moving with them enough.

The company quoted me initially about $3,200 for a full pack/load move service from NJ to KS. However, this was not the case once the movers arrived. The 3 initial employees were very rude and asked for a tip within the first 5 mins of being inside my home. The next thing is that they charged me for extra packing material yet threw my items into a box without any care or regard for my stuff. Needless to say the extra money I spent for packing materials was not present in the boxes. I called customer service, mind you all of the employees are contracted out from this company so there is no sense of pride or care within the employees to do the job correctly and you will never get to talk to someone that actually works at Jacob and Sons Moving Company. My stuff arrived but not within the 24hr timeframe that was explained to me through the customer service department. Literally was called the same day for a 2hr notice prior to delivery. When I got my stuff things were rolling around inside the boxes, some items broke and lots of things were mixed into whatever else was carelessly thrown into the boxes. I sent an email back to customer service and yet no response. I am assuming they are considering my move complete and that I don't deserve an explanation on why I was charged $750 for packing material when clearly that was not the case. The quote that was given to me initially and was the reason why I chose to go to Prestige DBA Jacob and Sons Moving was because of the fair price. I ended up paying close to double what the quote was. And I never got a response back from customer service on seeing if I could get the $750 reimbursed to me at the very least.

Initial estimate was 350 cubic feet and around $3,200. When the movers showed up, the bill sky rocketed to over $6,000 and they said we had more like 1200 cubic feet. Felt very fraudulent. Read more at: [*** Link removed ***]

**PLEASE, DO NOT BECOME VICTIM OF JACOB AND SONS. BEWARE OF THIS FRAUDULENT/THIEVING/MORAL-LESS COMPANY.** I recently became victim to Jacob and Sons’ scam. If you care about your belongings, time and faith in the decency of others, please, take my experience as evidence and use another moving company. Jacob and Sons’ employees have no ethical boundaries, and I have no doubt they will soon be exposed. Jacob and Sons confirmed they had a Jacob and Sons branch and a secure/gated warehouse in New Jersey where they assured me that my items would be stored in a secure wooden crate in their facility, separated and protected from any other person’s items until I was ready to reach my final destination this Spring. Jacob and Sons also specifically told me that they do not hire third party companies to move their clients. All necessary criteria when I was choosing a moving company. On moving day, an aggressive man named Saul came to my apartment with my Jacob and Sons inventory list and demanded an additional $1,000. As soon as this occurred, I called, texted and emailed Jacob and Sons with no answer. I refused to pay the additional money but Saul agreed to move my belongings anyway. The entire move he treated my belongings like trash and broke several items. When I asked for my items to be treated with more care, Saul cursed at me and threatened to “throw my belongings on the side of the road and cancel the move all together.” I tried calling Jacob and Sons several more times, still with no response. After the distressing moving experience, Saul handed me paperwork with “Moving Express and Storage, Inc.” letterhead. After questioning the letterhead, Saul said he was hired by Jacob and Sons. I called Jacob and Sons yet again, still with no answer. I had signed a contract with Jacob and Sons, NOT Moving Express and Storage, Inc. I later googled “Moving Express and Storage, Inc” and encountered another traumatizing experience by reading the reviews at the link below. [*** Link removed ***] Moving Express and Storage has complaints of fraud, theft, bribery and extortion. I was lied to, manipulated, and scammed by Jacob and Sons. The next day, I called Marty, the Jacob & Sons representative I have been working with and there was still no answer. It has been over two weeks and Marty still has not answered one single phone call, text or email. After dozens of unanswered attempts, I was able to get a hold of Connie from Jacob & Sons Customer Service. Connie confirmed she had no idea who Moving Express and Storage was. Connie then stated that since I signed the paperwork from Moving Express & Storage on moving day, I was no longer contracted with Jacob and Sons, completely gaslighting me. Connie said that she was unaware of where my belongings were but she would “look into it.” Over the next few days, I had no idea where my belongings were. After several days, Jacob and Sons admitted that my belongings were in Moving Express and Storage’s warehouse in New Jersey. Jacob and Sons LIED about having a facility in New Jersey and I wanted to retrieve my belongings immediately. I drove to NJ to pick up my belongings. The Moving Express & Storage warehouse was FILTHY, and would likely not pass any form of quality control inspection (photos attached). I have items that are missing/stolen. There was water damage to my couch; my dresser, bedframe, cabinet, heirloom dresser and bench were broken, holes in boxes (photos attached). Since I have not yet opened all of the boxes rescued from the warehouse, I am still not able to determine the extent of all of the damage. Jacob & Sons is the ringleader of this entire scam. Jacob and Sons lied and did not fulfill one aspect of our agreement. Not only is Jacob and Sons refusing to accept any responsibility for what transpired, they are also refusing to refund the deposit I am owed. My calls have been ignored since I retrieved by belongings and now my emails are also being ignored. To Jacob and Sons Victims: Please report them to Federal Trade Commission and Better Business Bureau immediately. I worked in the News for several years and am in contact with former colleagues in national news organizations that specialize in stories like this. We have a legal case and a moral obligation to expose this shameful “company.” With everything going on in the world, this is the last thing people should be worried about. This was a truly traumatic experience that I wish for no one else to experience. 

Good everything happened how it was explained and no price revision

My sales rep was great. The price was right. The movers were punctual, careful, and courteous. I would definitely hire and recommend them again.

Horrible doesn't describe it. So many issues it's hard to list them all so a couple of highlights: · Initially quoted me for 2100 cubic feet, came on the day of move and told me that it's actually 3700 cubic feet. · Their packers STOLE THE PRESCRIPTION PAIN MEDICATION I got for my herniated disk and my wife got for giving birth. · A week and a half late from pack to delivery with no proactive notification and very very rude customer service · Packed washing machine without stabilizing bolts after I specifically asked them to. · Lost parts to a bed frame... somehow · Did not label any of the boxes as to which room they came from · Pretty much just threw everything into boxes regardless of risk of breaking. Oh yeah... also, for the second half of payment, they only take cash or postal money order, not even a cashier's check. My guess, no paper trail makes tax evasion easy.

This is a company that used switch and bait. They gave me a low ball figure on the phone and after they had it on the truck there was a 50% increase. They told me even though I gave them the size of the items that the estimator had not seen the goods. They implied the furniture would be delivered in a couple of days so had to rush up to Tennessee. 6 weeks later my furniture got here. The delivery crew I'm sure could have been more careless but as it was I stood and watched as they broke and damaged my goods. I would never use this company and every one I know has been told what happened.

Great, hard working team with EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION about my expectations and their abilities. They took care of my belongings and listened to my concerns. They were honest and fun to work with.

They were knowledgeable, capable, personable, helpful, and reassuring. I felt SAFE and in GOOD HANDS, and my apartment and belongings look beautiful and were treated with care during the move.

These guys were amazing! They arrived and got to work quickly. The two men moving us were very KIND and HELPFUL. We arrived at our new house and they moved quickly and professionally to place everything in the rooms I labeled on the boxes, and stack everything in the garage. It was a PLEASURE working with them.

Terrible! This company is RIDICULOUS They promised they would arrive in the two day window I requested, I clarified and reclarified on the timeline-- then didn't arrive until 15 days later (one day delayed from the 2 week window they promised after I was upset they didn't arrive after the 2 days agreed upon).. they verbally made a promise then their contract contradicted it... and they tried to put that on me. I feel like I was baited and switched on. There was no point of contact to receive updates on their arrival time and I didn't reach a live human being for an update on the status of the transit for 24 hours... (mind you this was important because I thought they were arriving in the 2 day window). My mom packed essential items and clothing on the truck and didn't have access to any of those belongings for more than 2 weeks... she had to buy a lot of new things just to get by in the meantime. We paid for a full service move yet the movers when they finally arrived told my mom that they didn't have to put the boxes in their proper room. My mother has arthritis and multiple other health issues that made it hard for her to move the boxes herself. When she told them that we paid for the full-service they still had a bad attitude with her and tried to claim they would be doing her a favor. She called the dispatch office, and they confirmed that the movers needed to put her belongings in their correct space. Additionally we were charged $350 for a "shuttle truck" because supposedly the semi wouldn't fit in front of her apartment or the driver couldn't manuever it- the manager claimed that it was necessary and that they were not making any extra money on it, and it was an inconvenience to them as well. They acted like they did me a favor and took off $50... but my mother sent me a picture of the $19.95 u-haul they rented (pic included)... so tell me where the rest of that $300 dollars went to?! This has been the worst moving experience I've ever had. Currently they have not done anything to make up for this terrible experience though I've requested it. Believe me, you'll be better off doing the move on your own.

This is second time using these guys from Jacob and Sons Moving & Storage and they did a great job every time! They are very careful with your stuff and also the walls. They wrap up stuff to make sure they travel safe through the move. Very PROFESSIONAL and work ethic. They are the guys to use for your move!

Jacob and Sons Moving & Storage was amazing. They were good and on time. They worked quickly and were easy to work with. I would definitely work with them again! Here to there movers are GREAT and they definitely made my move very SMOOTH.

We were really excited for this move. But the issue was that we had a lot of things. We just had to hire Jacob and Sons Moving & Storage for the moving purposes. I have heard some great things about this company and their work proved why they were so good at their work. Each and every person is very well trained. They were so fast that it was almost unbelievable. We’re so grateful to them.

A friend of mine had previously hired Jacob and Sons Moving & Storage and he was raving about the company. So I just had to hire them. They did give me an appointment and the movers arrived right on time on the moving day. They efficiently packed up my 3-bedroom apartment so quickly. They made the delivery on time and all my belongings made it to my new house intact. They were definitely worth the wait.

From the start to the finish I could not have been more pleased. The initial phone contact and estimate were professional and accurate. We had three movers for our job. They were clean and professional in appearance and mannerisms and they took the time to describe how the move would proceed. We had a lot of glass shelves, tabletops and glass doored pieces and the movers carefully wrapped everything with moving blankets and stretch wrap so nothing was broken. We have an enormous house with a lot of stuff. I hope we don't move again for a long time, but if we do it's a safe bet I will call Jacob and Sons Moving & Storage again.

I used Jacob and Sons Moving & Storage for their moving service. The movers were on time and didn’t waste any time. Packed all my belongings quickly and carefully. They made the delivery on time and all my belongings were intact. I found nothing broken. They are expert at moving. I would like to recommend them to anyone. If you are looking for a moving company just hire these guys.

Jacob and Sons Moving & Storage has been great so far. When they came to the house, we were very pleased with how they approached our things and did the job. The people who picked the couch up were different from the people who delivered it and both teams did a great job. They were really nice people. They wrapped everything well when they did the pickup, and the delivery team set everything up at the new house. It was a really nice to have these guys lending hands and its team to help us with the move.

We used Jacob and Sons Moving to move our household belongings from our hometown to the city. From the very beginning we had an easy coordination and a great price. The moving crew of 3 young men moved quickly and handled all my furniture with extreme care. It took only a couple of hours for the movers to pack and load the truck. Delivery was made on time as estimated and they unpacked our belongings with no casualties. We can’t thank you guys enough already.

It’s quite hard to get a moving company who would charge a reasonable price. However, I am blessed to have found Jacob and Sons Moving & Storage. Their prices were reasonable and did not even charge me any extra amount. If you hire this company you will be in a win-win situation. Great service at an affordable price. The service that it provides is beyond expectation. I would recommend the moving services of this company because you are getting high quality service at a low price.

Jacob and Sons Moving & Storage came highly recommended to me by a friend and I was so pleased that I booked them for my move. My experience was wonderful. The guys were very professional, efficient and accommodating. And, they had good personalities too. They were very careful with my things, surrounding walls, etc. It was an overall pleasant and easy experience. I would definitely recommend them to all my friends and family. And also they have the best price you will ever get.

I know that people cannot trust on moving companies because they always find a way to break things. But I assure you, you will not go wrong if you hire Jacob and Sons Moving & Storage. They are very different in a good way. They move you without any damages or stress. Their prices are low and reasonable. I hired them for my long distance move a week ago and they never gave the chance to worry. They moved me very quickly and I could not find a single scratch. They did not break single thing. They are very professional and experienced. I highly recommend them to all.
