Janus Pest Management

Jay was very professional and thorough.  He called and texted and arrived on time, clean, very nice, and cleaned up.  He came by to check the traps regularly, and said we could call him between checks if necessary (it wasn't).  We had a missing screen to our crawl space, and as it was not a regular size, he did quite a bit of investigation and trial and error until he found a screen that fit perfectly (and installed it).  For such a creepy problem, Jay made this a very easy experience, taking care of the problem quickly and efficiently.  I'd hire them back in a minute (although I hope I never need to!) <br />

Jay runs an excellent company in Janus. No one wants to see a rat diving under their house as I did the other night. I immediately logged onto Angie's List and began researching options for rodent/pest control. I was very impressed with Janus' website which reflected their knowledge of what their business is and their experience in the industry. I knew that I wanted to go with a local owner-operated company for this project due to the sensitive nature, I did not want to be on hold if something went awry. <br /> Jay came out the very next day to do an inspection and provide me a quote. He was punctual, professional, and friendly.We worked out a fair deal and he went right to work setting up traps. <br /> Within the first week Jay has come back to my house twice to collect the rats that have been caught and reset the traps. He's done it usually within a few hours of me calling, and even though I signed up for weekly visits he has not made one issue of coming back whenever a rodent has been caught.  <br /> No one wants a rodent or pest problem, but when you have one I am sure we all want to work with a vendor that understands how important it is for you and your family to sleep in peace. Jay and Janus are effective, responsive, and more than fair to work with. I highly recommend Janus Pest Management without reservation! <br />

I was very impressed with the responsiveness, professionalism, and results of Janus Pest Management. The owner, Jay Spicer, treated my lawn. He gave me realistic expectations of what to look for in one week. He seemed fairly sure that one treatment would get rid of the gopher, and it did. I would definitely use his service again. <br />

They came out several times to lay the traps. The price was a little high but I was satisifed in the end. A- to B+ in regards to their responsiveness.

Overall, this was a very satisfying experience. Janus Pest was professional,courteous, knowledgeable and on time from start to finish. Jay Spicer came to our home and looked at all possible entry points for rats. He found the probable entry point and sealed it off. He also gave recommendations on ways to prevent further occurrences. He also noticed we had heavy outdoor ant activity and recommended an application of insecticide. After that we had several follow up visits by Kirk. He sprayed for ants, set traps and came back to check the results and reset again where necessary. He was just as professional, courteous, knowledgeable and on time as Jay. Also, when I called in to schedule follow up appts. the customer service person ( a woman - sorry, I don't know her name) was very courteous and took care of me right away. <br /> At this point we no longer have ants or rats! <br />

It went very well overall. I thought the service was professional and thorough and that Jay and the others that came out were polite and made sure they were looking at the big picture to figure out how to resolve it.

The rat situation has been resolved as a result of the initial service visit in November and on-going monthly maintenance.

Jay & Janus Pest Management is fantastic!   We recently moved into our 1931 spanish style home and found we had many spiders both inside & outside the house.  We picked them based on their excellent reviews and service award on Angie's list.   <br /> Jay & Janus Pest Management have truly exceeded the excellent reviews they've received on Angie's list!   <br /> We first met Jay in July of 2011.  Like other satisfied Angie's List members, I called for a quote and was happy to receive a quick response from the owner of the company Jay himself.  Jay was very personable and made himself available to meet right away the following Saturday morning since both my husband and I work.  Jay sprayed for pests (including spiders) both inside & outside our home.  Jay also inspected our home for rodents in the attic and below the house.  Jay found and removed a very old rodent carcus on his first visit.  He also indicated possible points of entry for the attic and below the house.  Jay set traps in the attic and below the house.  On his next visit, Jay removed a recently trapped rodent from below the house.  Jay and his associate Michael continued to monitor the rodent problem weekly for the next several weeks.  They diagnosed the problem and shored up the entry points with wire screens to prevent further rodents from entering.  Michael even squeezed himself into an extremely tiny crawl space in our attic to secure one of the wire screens.  Jay & Michael were extremely personable, professional, prompt (often arriving early), efficient, honest, and responsive to our needs.  They also routinely sprayed for pests especially all the various spiders we'd been finding both inside & outside our home.  It made a huge difference in our quality of life and got rid of both the spiders and rodents invading our home.  We are extremely pleased with their service and have already highly recommended them to two of our friends.  We continue to use their services to this day to maintain pest & rodent control.  We are now using them to help trap a pesky raccoon that is tearing up our lawn.  Jay, Michael, and Janus Pest Management is an excellent company that gives fantastic service and pest control while also giving you a very personal and professional experience.

I found them on Angie's List.  They are very good and I'm very pleased with the services.  They have alleviated a rat problem outside.  They were coming in under the fence and getting into the vegetable garden and reeking havoc.  They have dealt with it.  It was $200 to set up the traps initially and then $45 a month.  The price seemed within reason or else I wouldn't pay it.  I didn't comparison shop, I went on Angie's List.  It seemed like a reasonable price for the amount of time they spent.  They show up, call ahead so I can leave the gate open - they are very responsible.  They are very good.  The rats aren't coming back and they haven't poisoned my dog so they must be doing something right.

The job went better than expected. The pricing and results were very satisfactory. The technician Michael as well as Jay kept me and the tenant informed on the progress of the job. The tenant commented on the professionalism and willingness to share information of the Janus Team. <br /> I have contracted with Janus Pest Management to conduct, at and additional cost, a month long program to eliminate and discourage future rat problems.

Called Janus and spoke with someone (I think his name was Jay).  I am having skunk problems.  They keep eating my grass and digging holes in my yard.  So Jay told me best thing is to kill their food source, which is grubs.  He came on time, showed me where I had holes in my gate that the skunks were coming thru.  He suggested I get it repaired, and in the meantime purchase metal netting for the fence so that they can not come thru. He also gave me another tip, coyote urine!  He gave my grass two coats of insecticide and sprayed the yard with a high powered sprayer.  This is a much more powerful than a 1 gallon sprayer from home depot.   <br /> <br /> I haven't applied the netting to the fence yet (just been too busy). And I did apply the coyote urine around the perimeter. However the skunks came back after a week.  But all hope is not lost.  I still have to apply the netting.  Overall I was happy with the knowledge Jay provided.   <br /> <br /> One thing I did not like.  Jay told me he would call me in a week or so to find out if it worked and maybe I would consider a maintenance plan.  He did not call me.

I was extremely pleased with their fast and efficient service.   I made this company aware of the problem at 8:00a.m. and it solved before noon.  Thanks to Desiree and Mark for their effort.   I would certainly recomment this company. 

Owner, Jay, called within an hour of my sending an email inquiry. Stated that there would be a technician in my area at the end of the week. The technician, Mark, called, made an appointment and kept to it. Arrived as scheduled, was friendly, informative and professional. I appreciated his candor about the gopher problem. I would not hesitate to use Janus Pest Management again.

We thought we had bedbugs because of some bites, but had never seen any kind of pest in the house. A representative from Janus came out and spent a long time inspecting every part of our home and furniture, but could not find anything that indicated we had bedbugs or any other kind of pest. It was a great relief and he didn't charge us anything. We don't have any more bites, so apparently, whatever it was has gone away. We appreciate not being rushed into a big extermination job when it wasn't needed. Thanks so much Janus!

I highly recommend this company. I did a lot of research and picked Janus for the following: These people are longtime professionals and know their stuff... what to use, how much, etc. Personal service: I get a real person on the phone if needed to switch times or ask a question. Responsible: they call me the day before they're coming and they show up when they say they will. Mark has been my rep and from the moment he shows up in his meticulous truck and gives you advice about your property, I'm sure you'll feel like I did that any pest problems you have will be addressed and resolved.

Jay was very professional and punctual even though it was the Fourth of July weekend. He got rid of the bees and our pets could go back into the back yard. Jay told me that some bees might remain for a couple of days. He was right. Two weeks later, ther eare no bees.

I waited three days to file this report to make sure the problem was totally resolved. The bees are gone!

We are just buying our first home and were concerned about the obvious signs of bugs/pests in the cupboards and closets. My husband called and got a quote from Terminix, but I insisted on checking Angie's List and finding someone local, independent, and possibly eco-friendly. Janus Pest Management offered all of this, with a reasonable price. We scheduled for one day, but, with one thing and another, we needed to reschedule, and Jay, the technician was very responsive to my messages and was happy to reschedule. The service itself took a very short period of time, but we left the house for a few hours to allow the substance to "do its thing." (We elected to start with a chemical product and try for "green" pest control down the line).

We had noticed rodent droppings in the house. After setting traps with no success, we called Janus. Mr. Spicer came out and thoroughly checked the house, attic, garage and exterior. He concluded that an annual service agreement was probably not necessary. He told me what to do, and was very considerate in asking if I was comfortable with it. I followed his advice, and it has now been a week with no sign of rodents. He even called a few days after his visit to check up. I was very impressed with his knowledge, professionalism and integrity, and would recommend Janus without hesitation.

Thy are very responsive and punctual. I have enjoyed using this company and the service they provided. I will continue to use them in the future.

They are excellent. We are moving, so, I want to make sure they come to our new house too.

I called on Saturday late afternoon. Jay came within and hour and had the problem solved quickly and completely. A great company!
