Jasperose Landscaping

Perfect from start to finish.  Added things as we went.  The best thing about the landscape lighting was that I went with LED lighting which cost more, but lasts forever.  The owner was very creative with placement of the lights with one on the front door and one up in the tree shining up - very cool effect which I would have never thought of. <br />

Some aspects went well.  Making pathways, cleaning the yard, and  lighting. <br /> The process of setting the contract did not go well.  We agreed on a set of work and when he asked me to sign a contract the next day, the cost was actually $7000 higher.  I indicated that I had no way to know if the content in his bid would meet his claims regarding making a complete finished job.  He asked me to "trust" him. <br /> The pathway was 60 feet shorter than he indicated in his bid. <br /> He owes me a plan of my underground watering system. <br /> The plants which was a $12500 aspect of the job were and are totally unacceptable.  He planted 12 ochitello plants which have no green in four to six months.  He claimed it may take two years to get green.  He did not plant anywhere close to warranting a $12500 bill.  He claimed the nurseries do not give gallon or full five gallon plants, so his four inch plants were actually a full gallon. When I wrote an email outlining the final issues I felt he had unresolved on my property, he broke off contact.  I mailed him his final payment. <br /> The most disturbing problem was that when he asked me for more money to do what he thought was expanded scope and I refused, he would then not come for two days.  HIs problem solving and communication skills were not strong and avoidance is his primary strategy.  At the end of his contract, I stated dissatisfaction with planting on the lot perimeter.  He yelled at me in an unprofessional manner, never provided the plan for watering nor the information to fix the lights or watering system.  He frightened me.  Therefore, I have waited several months to complain. However, I am unhappy with the final product. <br /> He has good skills, but poor communication skills.  If any problem emerges, he withdraws.  I remain highly unhappy with the planting outcome.  His lighting work is excellent and unique. <br />

Chris and 4 workers came out.  They trenched and mounted a string of new lights to subtly cover my garage area.  They finished and tested the lights.  Chris came by on two successive nights and tweeked the lights to look as they do now. <br />

Made the appointment through email.  Workers arrived the day scheduled and worked quickly and quietly.   Looked out front at one point and the work was done.  Honestly didn't even know they were here.  Very convenient.  Very happy with the work that was done.  The trees look great and stable now.  Will definitely call in the future for my landscape needs. <br />

Chris and his crew transformed our backyard into a beautifully landscaped area that we can be proud of.  Chris spent a lot of time with us to come up with the perfect design that included bringing in soil for contouring, boulders, rock and plants.  It is clear that Chris truly cares about his clients and the quality of his work - <strong>he is as much an artist as he is a landscaper</strong>.  He explained everything that he was going to do in advance so there were no surprises.  I marked Punctuality as a "B" in the ratings only because it took the crew a few weeks to actually start the work, but I know that's because they were busy (which Chris told me in advance).  The delay didn't create any problems for us, and once they were able to get started, they worked hard to get the job completed as quickly as possible.  I plan to use Jasperose again for additional work we have planned for our side and front yards.  Thanks for everything Chris! <br />

Chris and his crew are very creative and do a fine job. We recommend them if you are looking for a job that you can be proud of. He does not cut corners, Does what he agrees to do. He does not do a job "on the cheap", but when the job is completed you will be pleased with everything he has done. We will use him again on our next project. <br />

Our backyard was unfinished so we called in Chris and his team. He came out to give us an estimate, marking areas and helping plan a 'floor plan' if you will (we didn't have anything set in stone), and then he returned when we were ready to have it done. The work was excellent, and the job was completed quickly, in a little over 2 days. My dog decided to pull out one of the plants that had been planted, along with some of the irrigation hose. He came out promptly, assessed the damage, replant, and repair and replace the damaged hose. Excellent company to deal with, and Chris is a great all-around person. Would definitely recommend (already have, actually ) and use him again! <br />

We have used Chris several times. This go around we wanted to plant several trees and to have him clean up some of the existing landscaping. Chris is always easy to work with.  We discussed our overall plan for the yard and he suggested the placement and gave suggestions as to the species of trees to plant.  He took great care in the selection of our trees, being sure to select plants that fit the area and choosing trees that would be beautiful in years to come.  We were also looking for some specific varieties of citrus which he was able to locate.  Chris took irrigation to everything planted and added a separate irrigation line for the citrus trees planted.  After the work was done, Chris' crew went the extra mile performing a bit of landscaping maintenance that left our yard looking clean and beautiful.  We are happy with his work and look forward to having him back for future projects. <br />

Chris was great to work with.  He really knows what plants will accent the landscape, and what will grow well in this climate.  He took the time to take me to the nursery and show me all the options.  I was concerned about trees that would interfere with the pool, and he took great care to accommodate my desire for a low-shedding landscape.  I have a homeowner's association, and Chris carefully developed a plan that would satisfy them, yet look very attractive.  My yard is now the nicest in the neighborhood.  I was impressed with the workers.  They totally reshaped my river rock into a very attractive pattern.  The lighting accents the yard beautifully.  It has been a couple months now, and the plants and trees have grown very well.  I think it was an excellent investment, a very good price, and high quality service and materials.  I would highly recommend Jasperose Landscaping. <br />

See above. Chris is a busy guy - testimony to the quality of his work - but is pretty responsive to phone messages, and they do EXCELLENT work and clean up afterwards. <br />

Came out same day as my first contact, provided a very reasonable estimate.  Started work the following day.  He oversaw the entire project from start to finish.  After all the work was done one week latter, he came out at night to adjust the lighting.  Even though I had already paid him he installed additional lights because he was not happy with the amount of light on certain features.  Awesome job very professional and personable.  Highly recommend this company.

You can deal with Christ and you can deal with him pretty level headedly, he generally gives you true estimates and generally follows through promptly on what you have decided.

Chris and his crew arrived promptly Monday morning (4/2)  and began the work which was to take all week and possibly into this week.  His crew worked tirelessly all week, and Chris was personally on-site as often as needed and always when he said he would be.  The bulk of the work was done by end of day Friday.  Chris came on Saturday to clean up and again on Monday to power wash the deck.  The power wash had to wait to let the flagstone grout to dry completely. The end result is absolutely beautiful, and everyone who has seen it is absolutely amazed by the transformation of the yard.  We could not be more delighted with the finished product or with the process of reaching the end result.

Although the project took longer than originally estimated it was well worth it.   There were some issues with patio removal and installation of a water line for the fountain that could not be foreseen and this contributed some to the longer completion time.  <br /> <br /> Chris listened closely to my husband who was mostly interested in the hardscape and to myself about the plant material I was interested in.  He took us to previous projects he had done so that we could actually see what our finished project might look like.  <br /> He took me on several trips to the nursery to educate me about desert landscape plants as I am from the midwest.  He is very knowledgeable and is generous in sharing his knowledge. <br /> <br /> We had previously had Chris do clean ups for us and found him to be honest and friendly so we had no hesitation in giving him this new project.  We were not disappointed.  He is upfront about what needs to be done and he actually listens to what we had to say.  We will continue to use him for all our future projects.

I called Chris on a Sunday just to leave a message to schedule an appointment, and was surprised when he called me back that same day.  He met us shortly thereafter, and interviewed my wife and I about what we were looking to accomplish.  We had only a general idea about what we wanted to do - and had considered retaining a landscape architect for design ideas.  After walking around with Chris for an hour or more, it was pretty clear he had the design experience to help us get the design we wanted. <br /> <br /> We knew from the first meeting that Chris was different from the other landscapers we had interviewed.  He was never in a hurry - always willing to talk and toss around ideas.  He was concerned about making sure he understood what we wanted, and was careful to make sure he got good feedback.  After a few meetings and sharpening up the scope, we began to really work well together and Chris' design personality started to shine through.  We found him to be different from the other landscape designers because he really wanted a great looking end product - and wanted to be sure it wasn't the same dozen or so desert plants you see everywhere.  His knowledge of plants was striking - but also his knowledge of the local nursery inventories.  He must have spent a week driving all over the valley looking for specific plants for the yard!  He drove out to the quarry to find the right color rock for the yard. <br /> <br /> The job began the way all contractor jobs do - and day one had the typical setback as the backhoe loader hit one of our water lines running to the back yard sprinkler junction box.  Unlike most of my other contractors, I came home from work to find it already repaired - and I didn't have to follow up.  He just took care of it, unlike my "mow and blow" landscaper who would have gone home and left it to become Roosevelt Lake. <br /> <br /> About a week into the demo, Chris met us at the nursery and walked us around to visit the different plants he was thinking about using.  After an hour or two, we had narrowed the selection of plants, and had a good idea what he was thinking, we also had given some significant input on plant styles. <br /> <br /> We were between visiting guests, and only had about 3 weeks to complete a large job.  As you would expect, the weather didn't cooperate, and we had about 5 days of rainouts.  Chris knew we were jammed for time, and his team worked the weekend to get back on schedule.  About 2/3 of the way through the job, we were comfortable enough with the work to add landscape lighting, and he also helped us design a raised bed vegetable garden for the service area of the yard. <br /> <br /> All through the job, the team was courteous, professional and helpful.  I have a couple of kids, and felt comfortable with Chris and the team around the house.  The group knows what to do, and all seem focused on doing it right.  There weren't shortcuts when Chris was away - they stuck to the plan. <br /> <br /> When it was done, it was really done.  There wasn't arguing over the punchlist, everything looked how it should - a finished product. <br /> <br /> Chris was very aware of our concerns during and after construction, constantly checking in and meeting us on the weekend or in the evening to check up on the work.  We had one tree that died, and he immediately noticed it and replaced it.  He's been watching our other plants to make sure they made it through the winter, and also came back to help us design the vegetable garden. <br /> <br /> Chris was very fair on price - we feel like we got a lot for our money.  I still talk with him regularly with questions, and will continue to utilize his services as we look to do more in the yard.

I called Jasperose Landscaping  for an estimate, and Chris was able to come that same day. He listened to what I wanted, and had great suggestions for the kinds of shrubs to plant, where to place them, and how to illuminate them with the proper lighting. They were able to start the following Wednesday, and by Saturday, my backyard was completely transformed! <br /> <br /> I wanted artificial grass in place of the gravel in the backyard. Chris knew where to get the material and how to install it properly. He re-used the flagstones that were already there and made cutouts for them in the grass so there is a path to the firepit and the pool. His choice of shrubs and flowering plants really dressed up the yard while keeping in mind low-litter hybrids around the pool. He re-routed the irrigation system so each plant is getting just the right amount of water for the appropriate amount of time - and I don't have to do any maintenance! <br /> <br /> I'm especially pleased with the lighting package. Each shrub is iluminated with a soft glow, and the firepit has over-head lighting from two copper lights hanging from the trees above. Outside every bedroom window there is a flowering shrub to look at, also illuminated at night - but not so bright as to be intrusive. <br /> <br /> I asked for a 'resort', and that's exactly what I got - all in the comfort of my own backyard! <br /> <br />

I called Chris and he came out that day.  He diagnosed the problem diligently.  He didn't look at just the one problem, he looked at the whole thing and found several other problems that I wasn't aware.  Chris said his crew would be out later that day to fix. His crew did not show up; so I called him the next day in the afternoon.  He apologized and said his crew had taken longer on another job and that he would be there the next morning.  The crew did come out the next day (so 2 days after they were originally scheduled) and worked quickly. I didn't realize they were fixing the problems, until they were almost done.  The crew even blew my leaves and ensured that any mess made was cleaned up.  I was thrilled with the service.  It was truly great Quality - outstanding.  Chris & I discussed that I should replace my system, but I explained that neither my husband nor I have jobs right now and we can't do anything more than patch. <br /> <br /> The next day, I noticed I still had a leak in the original spot, maybe about one foot further down the pipe.  I called Chris.  He again recommended that my aging system needed to be replaced.  I explained my financial situation again to Chris.  I thought we agreed he would come and do this last fix, and that he would be out the next day with his crew.  Neither he nor his team ever showed or called.  I decided not to continue to call Chris further, as I don't want to bother his team with a single patch, which is all I can afford right now.

He did a great job.  He worked with me on price, and I felt like I got a lot for my money.  The back yard looks great, and I am about to call him to come and plant my front yard.  He is a very nice, and kind person.  He is hands on.  I would recommend him to anyone who wants a reliable landscaper.  He is tops.

We contacted Chris to provide us an estimate and some ideas for our property.  Chris arrived on time and was informative and responsive.  After interviewing a number of other landscapers, we selected Jasperose based on the time he spent with us reviewing options in terms of plants and materials, his ideas for the property  through the plans he submitted to us and his demonstrated knowledge and experience about similar jobs.    <br /> <br /> Chris worked with our homeowner's association and went through several rounds of required revisions (our association is ridiculously strict and not very responsive), and we ultimately arrived on a design.  The team was very courteous and professional and completed the job on time and within the original budget.  Chris was very involved and answered questions we had and made some changes based on our requests as we were seeing the job come together.  One of the trees didn't take to our yard well and was replaced at no cost.   The property turned out beautifully and Chris has been very responsive with some issues that we have had since the job was completed. <br /> <br /> Full landscaping is obviously a significant investment of time and dollars, and we were very happy with our experience with Chris. <br />

Chris did an amazing, artistic design plan and helped us to really figure out what we wanted.  He worked with our town to address their concerns regarding permits and drainage.  He delivered truly spectacular results within our budget.  Our house has much more curb appeal!   We''ve received many compliments from neighbors on the work he did and on how conscientious Chris was in minimizing the impact of the project on our neighborhood.  We are delighted with the work Chris did and will be calling him again when we are ready to tackle our backyard!  He was a pleasure to work with and clearly takes great pride in his work.  He wasn't happy unless everything was perfect and we were delighted!

Chris returned our call and was able to give us an exact estimate within one day.  He even drove far out of his way to stop by and meet us and double check the site.  During the installation process he was on site daily guiding his crew and keeping us updated on the progress.  Chris and his crew are knowledgeable artisans; the work is beautiful and I will post pictures that speak for themselves.  I think he gave us an excellent price for the work done and he clearly takes pride in what he does and values the relationships he has with his customers.  He even stayed an extra day to help us out with some irrigation issues and over seeded our lawn.  Thanks to his company we now have a backyard oasis!  Thanks Chris!

We met with Chris in August to discuss what we wanted done in both our front and back yard.  We liked him right away.  He listened to what we wanted and then gave us his suggestions.  We knew that he understood our vision and we were excited to get started.  He told us that the project would take about a month to complete and that is exactly how long it took.  Even through the excessive heat (this was the hottest September on record)  his team worked diligently.  Throughout the project Chris would come up with ideas to improve on our original plan and each time we loved what he came up with.   Even after the changes that we made to the original plan the price did not changes significantly.  We absolutely love how the project turned out and are looking forward to working with Chris in the future.  He is honest and fair and really knows his trade well.  My husband and I can not say enough about him.   

Chris was here in person and did exactly what he said he would do....we are completely satisfied for the work he did and we would highly recommend him to others.
