We hired Jay-Quin Contracting to do a complete renovation of our kitchen. Jay did a wonderful job. He did the demolition down to the studs, updated the electrical wiring and plumbing, put up and painted the sheetrock, and installed the cabinets, flooring, lighting, backsplash and appliances. He also connected us with a great fabricator for the countertop. Jay was a tremendous help getting us alternate supplies quickly when we discovered an unexpected problem with the floor tiles we had purchased – which kept our renovation on schedule. Throughout the process, Jay made sure to keep in touch with us via calls, texts and emails. And he always arrived on schedule. Jay’s pleasant and upbeat attitude made it easier to deal with the typical stress of a renovation. We are very happy and very satisfied with our new kitchen and look forward to working with Jay on other projects we may have in the future

After surveying the damage our last tenant left behind in the rental apartment of our home, my family and I decided enough was enough. We made the decision to stop renting and utilize the extra space for ourselves. We also made the decision to invest in a proper remodel to not only enjoy for our use but also add value to our home in the event of future resale. I called five contractors to schedule appointments for estimates for the bathroom renovation. One never showed up for the appointment and one called 5 minutes before our scheduled time to cancel. Of the three contractors who actually made it through my front door, Jay was the only one, by far, who appeared trustworthy. He conducted himself in a professional manner, listened intently to my questions, ideas and concerns and communicated the scope of the work to be completed in detail. He emailed a written proposal that evening, again in explicit detail of the work to be performed, along with a breakdown of costs and the payment schedule we had agreed on. I told Jay the job was his and we scheduled the renovation for the following week. Jay delivered my renovation exactly as proposed. As I wanted to select my own fixtures and finishes, his input and expertise was extremely helpful in getting everything right the first time. One or two unforeseen issues did come up (it’s a 100 year old house) but he advised me pragmatically and didn’t let it affect our timeline. The renovation was started and finished on time and most importantly to me, Jay did a really great job of keeping the impact of “renovation mess” to a minimum.. It was truly a pleasure working with him and I will seek his services again when I am in need. Jay completed this renovation for me 7 years ago. His work has well withstood the test of time and everyday use. So, what prompted me to re-submit this review after 7 years? The lever on my toilet tank broke last week and needed to be replaced. I wasn’t sure if I could do it myself or for that matter even try. I called Jay and he immediately remembered who I was, where I lived and the remodel he did for me. I told him what I needed and he said he would be at my house the next day. True to his word, he came and replaced the lever for me and would not even charge me for his time. I don’t know if there are any other contractors out there who would show up after 7 years for such a minor job like I needed, but Jay did. So in addition to being an experienced and trustworthy contractor who delivered a quality renovation, he is also just a good and decent person!

Jay replaced the ceiling in our 1860's Victorian. He took down a plaster and lath ceiling and replaced it with sheet rock. He was quick to respond when we first called for an estimate and then scheduled and did the job with great dispatch. He completely cleaned up all debris and was easy to work with in sorting out the details. We recommend his services to you,

JQ has done several projects at my home, most recently he replaced an aging and rotting, patio in front of my home off the second floor. Completed on time, on budget and looks amazing. My neighbors are jealous.

Great. Jay Quin was very helpful in getting the most out of our old bathroom. He had many suggestions which added to the wonderful end result. His men arrived on time and didn't leave until the job of the day was complete. They were neat and clean. The job was done on time and at a fair price. We are completely satisfied.

We were not happy with his work - or the extreme price attached to it. The work was of cosmetic quality and has not held up well over the 3 years since it was done.
