Wont use the service again

It took Jay 30 days to contact me even after I called and left him a message and complained twice to Angie's list.

First he convinced us to not go through the Angie's list special but to pay him directly so he didn't have to pay some to Angie's List. That was a red flag but we still went with him. I spoke to Dennis in person three times. Once to take my initial check and twice when I complained. The rest of the time his son and another kid who both looked like they were at most 20yrs old did all of the work. His brother was there to oversee and do the cabinets but he spent most of the time on his cell phone. It took a day extra for them to complete the initial job. Then I complained because the work was sloppy and half done. There were (and still are) spots that are unpainted, the cabinets had the old color bleeding through, they got paint on my tile and on the ceiling, and the drywall was not put in very well. He came back and made the boys fix the problems we found the first time through but then we found other issues and realized that the cabinets were painted with flat paint instead of semi-gloss so it already is peeling. He promised numerous times to make it right but never came back. We tried 3 separate occasions to allow him to make it right but he kept making empty promises. He seems to be using different names for his business. We thought we were using Jay's Construction but then his invoice said Dennis Teague. He said it is his middle name. Now I check Angie's list and click on contact info and it has Tanner Teague. I wish I had listened to my gut before I agreed to deal with him. And to top it off, the showed up every morning without notice forcing us to quickly hop up, get dressed and answer the door.

We originally just hired Dennis and his crew to install some baseboard and crown molding but after a great job we contracted them to redo most of the exterior of our duplex unit, both sides. Very happy with the outcome and I would certainly recommend using him in the future. Reasonably priced work with a 1 year warranty. A+
