I hired JB Construction in February to point brick on a home I purchased in NW DC. The house is an all brick corner unit. I originally intended to only have problem areas pointed. Jason's father is an experience masonry contractor and works a full-time job. At the time we had a lot of other work on the property so I agreed to only work on weekends. After the first weekend, the work was looking amazing on small section. So I asked if we could discuss pointing more bricks. Roughly increasing the amount of work from 10 percent of building to about 60 percent of building. We also contracted to create two new doorways and brick-up or close an existing doorway. As winters go the weekend work only schedule caused weeks of delay. I began to get calls from Jason for advances on the work and began to notice the quality of the work slipping. The doorways were done as requested and the work looks nice, however, the pointing of bricks which started off really nice ended with sloppy work. I expressed my displeasure with the work, and Jason let me know he and his dad would come back to address. It's been three weeks, and this past weekend I got a call to meet him there and no show. He said his father had a health concern and its been nothing since. Not reliable.
