Jason installed a bathroom in my house. Looked beautiful. Looks are deceiving. He never wrapped my threshold in any membrane for waterproofing. It molded and leaked through my roof. I called and he said he would come look at it. Instead he blocked me. Wouldn’t answer my calls. I torn it apart to see it was just a 2x4 covered in tile. I have pictures. And I have the FB messages. He is a scam and has a ton of law suits. But he doesn’t use a real address. Look under JRL Remodeling. He had used a different business name before that. He changes them to avoid negative reviews and people seeking money.

That was a disaster, it was terrible. It was for my birthday. The young man came out in February and told us what he can do for us. I asked him how long this would take and he said it would take a week. It was to remodel a jack and Jill bathroom. It was a small bathroom. It was a special on Angie's List for $5000 for the job. IF there was an upgrade there was an extra charge and we actually paid an upgrade for a tower to be put in for extra storage. He came twice to find out finishes and tile and that sort of thing. He didn't take any notes. I told him what kind of cabinetry. It did take me a little time to go to the cabinetry place so it was about a month for me to get him that information. After that he said it would be about 6 weeks to get that in which is standard to bring that in. This was in March. So March, April, May, June, July and he sent in his brother in August to tear out the bathroom. His brother was a really nice guy and he tore out the bathroom. Then he did the tiling and the painting and then he said his brother's team would be back to do the rest of it. They never came back! When we called about it, they said there was going to be an extra charge for this and that. My sister said you know what, your're fired. We had to get someone else to finish the bathroom. It was a disaster. He should be taken off of Angie's List. I don't even know what name he is going under now because he was going thru a divorce and the first check was to one name and the second check was to another name. His brother came in August and it took him three weeks off and on to do the tear down. Sometime in the fall, he got in touch with my sister and said that it would be extra for the counter top. She had already paid him above what the deal was for. She never got any money back. We were very disappointed. Usually when we get something through Angie's List we're very satisfied. We got another company in late November and they were much easier to work with. Overall it would be F because It was a total failure. The price is an "F" too because it kept going up. It wasn't what was originally stated. His brother was nice and did a nice job. We wouldn't hear from him. We would leave messages. It was bad. Punctuality was terrible. He would make an appointment for 6 and he would show up at like 7:20 and always have an excuse.

There were a lot of bumps along the way with the service. From the very beginning it was poorly coordinated and poorly planned by Jason.

Dealing with Jason Lapay was a complete nightmare. He assured me in writing that the job would take about 3 weeks and begin in mid Feb 2016 and that he would personally manage it. I should have known trouble was ahead when he added incorrectly for the total on the quote. He actually shorted himself over $1,000 and being honest I let him know. <br> <br>In preparing for the remodel, I would send him a few simple questions but rarely get a useful response. There is no "design" in "J&B Remodeling and Design". It was up to me to order every last little valve etc and hope it went together. I happened to run into him at Home Depot and he said it was good I was gathering materials since he often shows up and the homeowner has nothing. He meant it to show how dumb his customers were; I later realized it showed his own complete lack of communication. I sent him a list of materials I had ordered asking if he saw any issues or missing items; the usual no response. There was no help of any kind in preparing for job. <br> <br>Having no communication from him by early April I asked when they would be coming (oddly, he had been sending out Angie's List special offers the whole time not showing up at my job) He said two people will be there 8:00 AM. No one comes. I call and he says, they will be there the next day. So I wasted a whole day of my time because it was not worth 10 seconds of his to tell me no one would be coming. This would happen over and over. <br> <br>Joe and Steve show up but have no idea what they are supposed to be doing. This would be the norm. My 6 week nightmare begins. I explain it to them and they tell me they did not bring tools (and were not sure which site they had been left at) or materials. Eventually they get started. They measured wrong and had to move the studs, but eventually the walls and floor were in. Up to then it was annoying delays, but now things start to go bad. Joe and Steve did their best and just needed a competent manager. <br> <br>After weeks of prodding, Jason finally comes and does the plaster. Of all the shoddy work that would be done by Jason Lapay's people, Jason himself was the worst. The plaster went up ok, but he splattered it all over my brick fireplace. This would have taken about 2 minutes to mask off. Instead, and only after I notice it, he says they can remove it with Muriatic Acid. It turns out, this is concentrated Hydrochloric Acid meant for things like driveways. Very toxic and not meant for indoor use on vertical surfaces. Ridiculous. And they never actually fixed it. I would hear "we'll fix that" on many issues, but they never did on anything. They also screwed up the outlets which are not flush with the final plaster wall so the plates don't go on properly. <br> <br>He was supposed to install new baseboard. Weeks into the job, no baseboard. I sent a text asking when it would arrive and he responds that stressing him out will not make the job go more smoothly. So his only concern is his stress (not mine) and openly admits it is not going smoothly. Finally some guy drops off unfinished baseboard. Another guy slaps on some prestain and stain and they start installing it. What a disaster. Staining is a very time consuming process; you have to sand and then apply it evenly and add a finish coat. They did none of that and it is all a splotchy mess that does not remotely match the door trim. I'm having all of it redone. <br> <br>They finished nothing. Baseboard in open areas but not in closets. A few tiles left undone in each area. No door for the electrical box. The "plumber" did a tub faucet but not the shower head or vanity plumbing. No T molding installed. And on and on and on. So instead of having people do as much as possible in one trip, they would have to come out multiple times. If he wants to pay people to drive around, that's his business, but it wasted weeks of my time. <br> <br>The so called "plumber" did not check the bathtub drain for leaks. Of course it leaks, so that needs redone. I happen to have a hole in my garage to see it is leaking. Without that, I would have found out in a year or two when the garage ceiling started dripping water. <br> <br>They would misplace things. I have missing wall plates, toilet bolt caps, vanity shelf clips, ... I've had to order parts from various manufacturers. <br> <br>In the kitchen, they were supposed to remove the existing floor and put in tile. They just put the tile on top of the existing floor. Now my refrigerator does not fit under the cabinet. He told me they would just cut off the bottom of the cabinet. He never did and it turns out that is not an easy thing to do. Cabinets are not made to have the bottoms "trimmed off". And my dishwasher no longer fits. <br> <br>All the painting they did was shoddy and incomplete. They did not believe in masking things off and I have splotches on my door trim, tile, etc. Any part not readily accessible was ignored. For example, I just finished removing the blinds in my kitchen and painting around the sill. <br> <br>They were not content with trashing the inside of my home. They put tile saw fluid and plaster in my side garden. I have not been able to get it off and it killed some shrubs. My driveway is covered with splatter. <br> <br>I often had to "loan" them tools such as paint trays, a Shop-Vac since theirs shot dust out the back, buckets, etc. Not a big deal, but more aggravation. <br> <br>For most of the job, there was only one guy very slowly doing tile work and a few odds and ends. No "full crews" that I was promised. On a well run job, they would have had a low end assistant to do tile cuts etc which would have made it go much faster. <br> <br>The Hall Bathroom was the biggest disaster. There were 2" gaps in the drywall and cement board. The corner bead (which Jason did not want at all) was glued on crooked since they failed to true up the corner and fell off along with the tile on top of it. They did not use plumbers putty for the tub drain so it leaks. They put the surround tile up before testing the shower or connecting the shower head and it is now inaccessible without ripping it all out. They were supposed to put an outlet above the vanity. This would be easy while the walls were open. As usual, they left it for later. <br> <br>Jason assured me he would personally manage the job. He did not do so in person or otherwise. I thought this was the source of the problem until I saw how shoddy his own work was. Angie's List only allows 10,000 characters, so I can't explain my 6 week Jason Lapay nightmare in every detail. He just does not know what he is doing, his people don't know what they are doing, and he has no ability to manage himself much less multiple projects. My time and stress meant nothing to him and he cared nothing about the quality of the work being performed. He has zero project management skills (even basic common sense like doing walls before floors), and refuses to communicate for weeks on end. <br> <br>After weeks of no communication on the hall bathroom plaster work (and 6 weeks into a 3 week job with no end in sight), and given the shoddy incomplete work already done, I could not take it anymore and kicked them out. I had paid him $14,000 of the $22,000. I estimate I overpaid by about $6,000.00 including incomplete items and shoddy work that needs redone. <br> <br>When I kicked them out, I had hoped he would call and apologize for the delays and issues and correct the situation. Successful businesses solve customer problems. Jason Lapay has hissy fits and temper tantrums (several times I heard him screaming at his people over the phone as they would just hold it away from their ear). He sent a text saying there was no end date in the contract and he would sue me if I did not pay for the rest for rooms he had not even started even though he had no intention of finishing the job. He wanted me to send a check for $8,000. With his usual lack of attention to detail, he gave a street address but no city and state. He had gotten divorced and it was different from the business address. <br> <br>In looking into the legal asp

At this point I have 3 projects going on in my home and none of them are done. They are close to completing everything but he won?t send anyone out to complete everything. He won?t answer my phone calls or return text messages. When he has responded to texts he tells me they?ll be out on a specific day and they don?t show up. Last week he sent me a picture of a work truck that had wrecked into a pole and told me he would be out this week and they still haven?t come. It?s been 3 weeks since they?ve been here to do any work and I just want the work to be completed. They?ve made mistakes and then pass the cost on to me and refuse to do any work unless I pay them additional money to make up for mistakes. Some of the completed work doesn?t match existing parts of my home so I?ll have to pay additional money to make trim match in areas. I asked him to build a new island in my kitchen and he came out to ask for specifications and take measurements. He said he was going to outsource the work for building the island and the island still hasn?t been installed. He had to take out some counter tops to accommodate for new appliances so I?ve had less than half of my previous counter space for weeks now. I?ve paid for things I don?t feel I should?ve paid for because he wasn?t going to continue doing any work without me paying for his mistakes. He stained the entire kitchen floor the wrong color and I was forced to pay for fixing that even though it was his mistake. He doesn?t communicate well with me or his employees, he has made mistakes in the work, and it?s very frustrating that the work isn?t done well after it was scheduled to be completed. I tried to contact him today and his phone is turned off, it goes straight to voicemail. If he isn?t willing to finish the work then I feel he needs to refund my money I?ve paid so I can have someone else complete the work. I?ve paid in full for building the new bathroom and the bathroom remodel and he still hasn?t finished the work on either of those parts of the project.

An overall horrible experience. I thought I did my due diligence by talking to multiple contractors and looking at highly rated Angie's list providers but I really missed my mark. At first, Jason seemed like a friendly and honest contractor that he was the person I liked the best. He assured me that he was going to do the work himself and that everything would be done correctly. He had great reviews and a competitive bid so I picked him. My pick was a mistake. First, in spite of him saying that he would do all the work himself, Jason only worked on our house for 2 days out of the 10+ weeks. The best part is that Jason didn't even show up at the end to collect the last check and to see how the project turned out. Most of the work was performed by Terry. Terry is a nice guy but I hired Jason and not Terry. Terry initially did pretty good work, but by the end it was clear that he was overwhelmed and was being rushed as the quality of the work decreased over time. Terry had three helpers. All three were inexperienced and any work they performed was mediocre at best. Terry had to correct a lot of the mistakes made by the helpers. On the day the job was supposed to be "completed" the water was turned on and there was a leak that ruined the ceiling in my downstairs bathroom. At this point, Terry stated how he doesn't like doing plumbing and thought he wouldn't have had to when hired by Jason. That's the last thing you want to hear when you just paid over $20,000 for a job with plenty of plumbing. Me being the complete fool that I am, felt bad for the workers and said I would fix the ceiling myself. So for whatever reason I paid the full amount owed and thought this horrible experience was over. However. immediately after they were complete with the job, I found the following problems that I fixed myself because I was just tired of dealing with the whole thing: 1. Leaking sink in the laundry room 2. Leaking sink in the kitchen 3. Incorrectly installed dishwasher 4. Power washed my back patio to clean up left over tile and mortar mess 5. Gas dryer was installed incorrectly that led to a gas leak There are also plenty of little things that I constantly notice were done incorrectly or haphazardly. In addition to the problems with the work, once we were putting our house back together, we learned that one of Jason's employees stole from our house our wedding gift cards and my wife's piggy bank filled with gift cards. Jason initially promised he would make this right but to no surprise he failed to fulfill this promise. Jason did send Terry out to fix cracking of grout in the shower in January. But that is already cracking again. Honestly, I was just so sick and tired of everything that I wanted to move on and forget it even happened, which is why I didn't post a review in January. However, now it's May and we used the bathtub for the first time and of course it is leaking into my kitchen's ceiling. Hopefully, Jason will fix this problem but who knows with how the rest of the project went down. I've never been so disappointed in an entire process than I have been with this whole ordeal. I'm posting this review in hopes that it will prevent other people from making the mistake I made.

We have been working on this project for over 5 weeks now. The work is still not anywhere near complete. The work that has been done is subpar. The electrical work is faulty. The plumbings and faucets are leaking. They damaged the ceiling to our laundry room during the initial demolition, the hole is still there. Jason, the owner, told us that he is the only one of the his crew who is capable of fixing it. That repair has yet to be made. When the crew was making cuts for the tile and grout they did so in my yard. They did not put any protective shields over the grass, nor did they clean up the excess materials. So, there are still bits of tile and grout in my grass, hindering my daughters ability to play in her own yard! Jason rarely comes to the site, he has only been here when we have asked him to come after poor work has been done and needs correcting. When we purchased the Big Deal Jason promised he would be the one doing the work, but he just sends his crew, who are clearly not able to handle the work needed. He was supposed to be out every day last week, but didn't come at all. He had many excuses as to why he wasn't there. Not once did he tell us he would not be coming, we would have to reach out to him and then he would give us an excuse then. He doesn't give the crew full information about what needs to be done or corrected. I have to try and remember, or let the crew fumble through. He is fairly responsive, but never follows through.

To first start this off Jason came out and explained everything that would be removed and installed. We got on there schedule and Brian and terry were there to do the work. Terry did all the mechanical work followed by Brian who did an excellent job with all the tile work and Jason came in to do the finish work it was a great experience. Hope we can do more projects together. <br />

Jason and his team remodeled a bathroom for us. He was very professional and polite. He gave us insight on all aspects of the job from start to finish. He said the job would take 2 weeks and took two weeks. They were very clean about everything and cleaned up when they were done. We made several changes to the project as we moved along and they accomadated for us very accordingly. They out in a time shower and all the floors. It turned out very professional and the suggestions were right on the money. We would def use them again. <br />

When we met Jason, we immediately liked him. He had a simple personality and, seemingly, a <br /> <br /> good knowledge of remodeling. After <br /> <br /> approximately six quotes on our project, we chose Jason over other contractors, <br /> <br /> mainly due to price, even though I read on Angie?s List that he was bad with <br /> <br /> communication. And, believe me, he and <br /> <br /> his wife, Brianna, definitely live up to that. <br /> <br /> They never answered their business phone, never returned calls, never <br /> <br /> got our messages, showed up late for appointments, and even showed up once when <br /> <br /> I had canceled the appointment (via voice message, obviously). Once Jason gave us his cell number (only once <br /> <br /> the project got started), responsiveness was better? but it was always like <br /> <br /> talking to someone who had no idea what you were saying because he was NEVER on <br /> <br /> site. He depended on his shoddy workers <br /> <br /> to manage the project for him. And there <br /> <br /> was no lead person or anything. Just the <br /> <br /> everyday workers who would put their head down and never acknowledged you were <br /> <br /> there or had a question. Their response to <br /> <br /> anything and everything was, ?I?ll tell Jason.? <br /> <br /> Jason literally did nothing by way of managing the project in person. <br /> <br /> I put my most recent date of contact as today? because I <br /> <br /> literally have to deal with this bad choice every day. Some of the low-grade tools that Jason?s crew <br /> <br /> left behind are still in my basement (no response when I asked them to bring me <br /> <br /> a voided contract when they come get their stuff) and I look at the shoddy work <br /> <br /> every day. We?ve worked to get a lot of <br /> <br /> it completed by other contractors? but getting quality people to pick up <br /> <br /> someone else?s mess is very difficult. <br /> <br /> To make this simple, completely ignoring the day to details <br /> <br /> of how bad J&B Remodeling is? here are the items, which made choosing them <br /> <br /> the worst choice of our lives: <br /> <br /> - Dirt. Literally. Everywhere. And no one ever cleaned up. Absolutely no respect for our home. <br /> <br /> - The closet and room framework was built with incorrect <br /> <br /> nails. How do I know? I heard Jason and his workers say it. (Obviously, I found out too late?) <br /> <br /> - The electrical was run completely incorrectly. How do I know? My new, REAL, electrician had to map all of <br /> <br /> their work and explain it to me. I <br /> <br /> literally can?t run a hairdryer and have the hall lights on at the same <br /> <br /> time. Why a hair dryer and hall <br /> <br /> lights? Because, amazingly, the electrical <br /> <br /> is tied. They also used the wrong wiring. How did this happen? J&B Remodeling does not use a real <br /> <br /> electrician for any of the electrical work. <br /> <br /> So wrong. So amazingly wrong? and <br /> <br /> Jason had his guys just go ahead and cover that up with the drywall. Wow. <br /> <br /> - The shower plumbing was plastic? when it should have been <br /> <br /> copper. How do I know now? My tub and shower faucet weren?t working <br /> <br /> properly and the reason was because of the plumbing. The plastic plumbing restricts water where it <br /> <br /> shouldn?t be restricted. I feel for <br /> <br /> anyone who had plumbing done by J&B Remodeling. Terry, their ?plumber? is not a plumber? he?s <br /> <br /> just a kid that picked up some plumbing tricks. <br /> <br /> - The plumbing has leaked on two occasions. Luckily, because J&B Remodeling never <br /> <br /> finished, the drywall covering the plumbing was still wide open and we caught <br /> <br /> both leaks right away. <br /> <br /> - I?m fearful for my toilet plumbing. Each and every time we flush the toilet, the <br /> <br /> plumbing under the floor makes a crazy internal noise that sounds like things <br /> <br /> are getting stuck or having a hard time flowing. I?m basically just waiting for the day the <br /> <br /> plumbing gives out. Unfortunately, we <br /> <br /> had no idea of the problem prior to laying subfloor and flooring. We?d have to cut out the ceiling underneath <br /> <br /> the bathroom in order to access it. <br /> <br /> - At my breaking point, I asked Jason and Brianna to meet us <br /> <br /> at the house to plan a way forward. <br /> <br /> Jason lost his cool, putting all sorts of blame on us and our old house? <br /> <br /> he said he paid 5 workers for two weeks straight to get the drywall hung and <br /> <br /> because our roof line was so complicated, it still wasn?t done. I informed him that there were 5 workers at <br /> <br /> the house for a total of 2-3 days and then maybe 1-2 people showed up the rest <br /> <br /> of the time. Instead of thinking about what <br /> <br /> he said? he told me I was lying because he reviewed their time sheets and paid <br /> <br /> them. My response? don?t you think it?s <br /> <br /> a problem if you have 5 people working 10 business days and the project still <br /> <br /> is not completed? Of course I was wrong <br /> <br /> though? <br /> <br /> All this is not to mention that we have to pay to have the <br /> <br /> following to be dealt with: <br /> <br /> - Our skylights need resealed since J&B did such a <br /> <br /> shoddy job. <br /> <br /> - We have to fix the drywall around every outlet and switch <br /> <br /> plate because they cut the drywall so poorly. <br /> <br /> - We still have certain aspects of the remodel to finish, <br /> <br /> which we just haven?t gotten to yet. <br /> <br /> Renovating is exhausting? add dealing with J&B <br /> <br /> Remodeling and their crap quality work? then trying to find all new people to <br /> <br /> clean up their mess. Something <br /> <br /> absolutely no contractor wants to deal with? I feel like they?ve stolen a year-plus <br /> <br /> of my life that I will never get back. <br /> <br /> If just one person reads this and goes with a different <br /> <br /> contractor, I will have done my job. It?s <br /> <br /> taken me about 7 months to be able to leave a review. Mentally, this has been one of the hardest <br /> <br /> things I?ve ever had to deal with. <br /> <br /> Please, do yourself a favor? do not hire J&B Remodeling. <br /> <br /> As for me? I?m just hoping that the skeletons hidden in my <br /> <br /> walls (that Jason covered up) just don?t came falling out in the form of an electrical <br /> <br /> fire or another plumbing leak.

"To all that read this book about our company and people that work here. I have a couple of words first these customers are not customers they are thieves that use this site to gain there own means. They hire contractors before contractors and make them clean up the others mess only not to pay you for the work you did. I found out why all the others walked away now. Plumbing was messed up before we got there. structure was and electrical was. The homeowners or DIYErs tried there best to only have other clean up there mess on the prior floor projects and then hide them in walls. These are thieves who took stole about 15000 worth of work. Our company has integrity unlike your lies portrayed on this website."

We were given a total estimate of $8900 for three jobs by owner Jason Lapay. The first job was to demo and remodel a shower stall for $1800, the second was to build a bulkhead and finish some drywall in our game room for $600, the third was to demo and remodel a full bath for $6500. Jason needed one third of the money up front, another third halfway through, and the final third when finished. We were told the work would take about three weeks, and that the shower stall would be done in a couple days. We payed the first third, $3000, on 1/9/16 after our estimate review. At this time Jason told us to go to Pro Source and choose tile. He also told us that he usually uses 12x24" tile, but we can choose what we like. <br /> On 1/16/16 we made it to Pro Source and easily found tile we like for both baths. The salesman there told us it would take about a week to get the tile, and that we should let our contractor know right away. We figured that's not a problem because they could work on the game room, or we just use the shower at my parents house while they demo the other bathroom. <br /> Day 1. Monday 1/18/16. Mike (of J & B Remodeling) showed up that morning and began demo on the shower. I told him that we need to let Jason know that the tile needs ordered right away. <br /> Day 2. Tuesday 1/19. Mike showed up again and continued work on the shower. He could only work a couple of hours because he came upon plumbing that Jason would have to address. Mike informed me of the situation and called Jason to let him know. At this time, I also spoke to Jason and reminded him about the tile, explaining that Pro Source had all of our information and knew that he was our contractor. He said that he would get it ordered. <br /> Day 3. Wednesday 1/20. No show. I called the office and left a voicemail. <br /> Day 4. Thursday 1/21. No show. <br /> Day 5. Friday 1/22. No show. I call Jason in the morning. He says he will be there Monday, and that he ordered the tile from Pro Source, and will take 7-10 days. <br /> Day 6. Monday 1/25/16. No show. I call him in the afternoon, he tells me that he texted me and that the tile will be too expensive and that he'll bring samples of what fits our budget. The tile we chose averaged about $4.00/sq ft for the two baths. <br /> Day 7. Tuesday 1/26. No show. <br /> Day 8. Wednesday 1/27. I call at 9:45am since no one has arrived yet. Jason calls at 9:55 and says he is on his way. He arrives with his son, and tells me that its take your child to work day. I found that strange since national "Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day" is April 28th this year. He brings samples and works on plumbing. I tell him that we would like to see samples closer to what we had picked out. And tells me that he will drop some off. I also expressed some disappointment with the "no shows", and he insisted that he texted me on Monday. He showed me a text on his phone from 12/31/15. Even after I pointed out the date and explained that it was from the day of the estimate, he insisted. He then showed me a text to my number with the wrong area code. At this point, I'm growing concerned about who we hired. And a quick Google search reveals that <strong>J & B Remodeling has a grade of F with the BBB</strong>. I also discover that an article on Angie's List that Jason told us he wrote on change orders, was actually written by Michael Schroeder. Jason simply had an eight word quote. https://www.angieslist.com/articles/change-orders-fix-construction-curveballs.htm <br /> Day 9. Thursday 1/28. Terry shows up and works on the shower drywall and base. <br /> Day 10. Friday 1/29. Terry shows up and works on the shower drywall and base. <br /> Day 11. Monday 2/1. Traded texts and phone calls with Jason about tile. Finally settled on tile from Home Depot. <br /> Day 12. Tuesday 2/2. Jason texts me. Telling me tile will be in Thursday and they will start tiling then. I remind him that the game room can begin anytime, and he says that will start then as well. <br /> Day 13. Wednesday 2/3. No work done. <br /> Day 14. Thursday 2/4. Terry shows and begins tiling shower. Mike and Brian show and do the roughwork on the bulkhead in the game room. It also appears that some other work was done based on the dust. <br /> Day 15. Friday 2/5. Terry finishes tile. Still has to do grout. No other work is done. On this night, my wife and I discuss the quality of the tile work. Grout joints are uneven. Some tiles are not square. Tile surfaces are uneven. Several of the 2x2" tiles on the floor are loose. At several places, thin set is coming up through the grout joints to the tile surface. Dabs of thin set have gotten on the floor and toilet seat. I also discover that left over mortar from the shower floor was dumped behind my grill on the back porch. Small pieces of tiles are scattered through the p-gravel around our porch. No wiring or other work is done for the exhaust fan. <br /> Sunday 2/7. We call Jason and discuss these issues. We send him pictures as requested. He says that Terry can fix all of these. I tell him that I want him to come look at the work before anyone comes into my house to do work. <br /> Monday 2/8. Jason looks at the work and says they can take the tile down and Terry will re-do it to our liking. He states that they knew the walls were bowed. I asked why they didn't fix them when they were torn down to the studs. He said that wall is shared with the other bathroom. I told him my wife and I will discuss it and give him a call. He says to let him know by the end of the day. At 4:34pm, I call him with the following offer: "We've made a deposit of $3000. Take the tile down and repair the shower to where its ready for tile. We will pay the full $1800. Finish the work in the game room. We will pay the full $600. Then refund the remaining $600 to us." He stated that we will not get any money back because we cost him work time. We told him to let us know what he is going to do to make it right. He said that he has to talk to a couple people, and that he will get back to us. <br /> We haven't had any communication from him since. I've called Jason several times over the next two weeks, leaving voicemails each time. <br />

"the customer was informed about the job conditions before we started. A previous contractor or homeowner had started the project. We removed what was started and enlarged shower moving the plumbing and wall structure to max efficiency. Homeowner was very unsure about tile. It took about 2 weeks to decide on what they wanted. I had recommended 12x12 or 12x24 because the dimensions of the shower would have worked out better for layout. Customer refused the sizes and tile recommendations. We did not recommend the size they chose. Also we recommended a different layout but that was refused. The customer did not listen to us during this process and also the tile that the customer used is the same one that is in the newer reviews check pics of recent customer who posted review. The tile they chose had also different sizes and is replicated from natural stone carrea marble. The customer would not let us grout or anything. I offered to retile myself and finish it up but customer refused. We warrantee everything and if customer is not happy we will re tile the joke thing but customer refused and told us to leave. This wasn't a case of bad job but a bad decision of choose from homeowner."

,I first met Jason and Breanna in early september when they initially reviewed the work needed. A week or so later they provided me an estimate via phone and we signed the contract. I was a bit disappointed that it took a couple months to get the work started, however, in looking at other reviews on their company, I noticed that others had commented similarly, but went on to say that once the work began, they were great to work with and would stick with it until it was completed. The sticking with it was important to me since the bathroom being done is my only facilities in this house. The bathroom is quite small and couldn't accommodate a very large crew. They were very good in keeping me appraised of when work would begin the closer they got to starting and called each morning to advise who would be there, what work was expected to be done and when they would arrive. That was much appreciated. First day Jason's brother and his wife arrived to complete demolition of the plaster walls, flooring down to the sheathing level and removed the old tub and water closet. A nasty, dirty and dusty job, but they put down plastic over the carpeting to keep it from getting dirty and did a good job of containing the dust and debris while they worked and when they left that afternoon the debris was gone and the area cleaned and vacuumed up in preparation for the next days work. Jason, was there for day 2 to adjust electrical outlets, put in blocking in the walls for handrail and medicine cabinet installations and did the rough in for the exhaust fan and installed the new tub. Day 3, Jason completed installation of the exhaust fan, installed the new sheet rock on the walls and ceiling and installed the floor tile. Day 4, Jason installed the wall tile and grouted the floor tile. Day 5 Jason finished the last bit of wall tile and grouted the wall tile previously installed as well as installed the new water closet as well as painted the ceiling and walls not being tiled. Day 6 Jason and his brother finished grouting the wall tile, installed the medicine cabinet, vanity, towel bars, grab bar, toilet paper dispenser, shower head and controls, etc. and did the final trim around the door, window, medicine cabinet. As they finished they cleaned up their tools and packed things up by mid-day. I was impressed that they hung in there and continued working once it started. The quality of work performed was very good and I am pleased. I was very pleased that they made a very consious effort to clean up and remove debris, wrappings and vacuum up dust from the day's work to leave me with a clean home in spite of the construction activity. I oversaw construction activity as a federal inspector for the National Park Service prior to my retirement and I know good quality work when I see it and they performed very well on the job. And all who were here representling the company were enjoyable to talk to and very knowledgeabale about what they were doing. So I was quite pleased with the end result and would hire them again. <br />

Our bathrooms were pretty old. Jason and his team upgraded these to pretty modern looking bathrooms. <br /> We had evaluated multiple bathroom re-modelers and found them to be most flexible and economical. Our requirements for bathroom were <br /> 1. Match the current house style. (our house has lot of custom wooden cabinetry). <br /> 2. Utilize the space in most efficient way. <br /> 3. Select neutral tiles/vanities. <br /> 4. Cost effective. <br /> J & B has a good design sense and were able to provide us multiple option for bathrooms. We had some ideas which they included in their design as well. <br /> The selection of tiles/faucets etc were very good. Their team is very easy to communicate and they are very responsive. <br /> Overall we are very happy with the work of "J & B Remodeling and Design". <br /> Thanks <br /> Anand <br />

It went really well. All professional individuals. The work is impeccable---best looking full bathroom in the house! It feels like a spa. They went above and beyond what we had imagined--and the wall that they tore down and rebuilt to accommodate the space looks like it had always been there---paint, molding and everything! I would highly recommend their services. In fact, we plan to rehire them to do our master bathroom! <br />
