The crew did a good job overall painting the house. Jesus, the owner and manager was in and out. The crew was friendly and professional. However, we ran in to issues at the end. JDA underbid the project and wanted more more to complete the work. Maybe a language barrier when first discussing the scope of the project? The painting of the window in master bath was not completed and the slats to the blind for this window were broken by the crew. The crew broke it and didn't mention it. I had to discover it and go to Jesus. Jesus took the slats with him and promised to return to paint the blinds frame and clean up some drips on the window. frame. He has not returned to complete this work. He is not responding to me about doing the the right thing and finishing this up.

Popcorn Acoustic Ceiling Texture Application, Repair or Removal
I wanted to have the popcorn ceilings removed in my home. I decided to go on Angi's to find a reputable contractor to do the work. I chose JDA Drywall from the responses I got on Angi because of the way Jesus, the owner, presented his business and conversation telling me about each step he would take to complete the work process. Jesus walked through the house, taking pictures of each room and ceiling.
After the walk through, pictures and conversation, we sat at the table and continued talking. He was telling me how they had just returned from an out of state job and was still waiting for their $20,000 payment. That should have been the first red flag, bust since they came through Angi, I still felt that I had a good find.
Jesus gave me a price with one half being paid at the start and the balance at the end and I agreed. He wanted to start the work the following day. I told him that I needed more time to cover and move things out of the way, etc. He told me that with the way they cover everything there was nothing I needed to do because they cover everything with plastic, the floors would have brown paper with plastic over it taped to the floor. With all of the explaining about how they would cover and protect my belongings, I felt that it would be safe to let them start the job. All of the floors and contents of the house would be covered on the first day and the popcorn removal would start on the second day. I was told that the job would take 10 days to 2 weeks and would be working 7 days until the job was completed. The following day when the job was to start, I met with Jesus and gave him $3800 cash (which is the way he had asked to be paid - red flag???) before the job started. Jesus gave me the name of his insurance company. I did ask Angi about JDA's insurance but they had nothing on it. When I had to call Erie Insurance, they had no record of them having any coverage with them. Erie asked me for an address for JDA and there wasn't one on the card nor did Angi's have one. No address at all. Erie really worked for me trying to search for JDA as an Insured, but there wasn't any. This told me that I should have followed my mind from the first red flag.
It took 2 days to cover everything because there were only two workers to start. The plan wasn't going like I had been told. I was told that they would be here around 8 am every morning. They straggled in between 9 and 10 o'clock. I work outside my home answering the phones at a local business from 9 to 5. I had to wait on them some mornings, which made me late for work. I started sending them texts to let them know that I was leaving and the back door would be open for them to get in. i didn't want to lose my job. It seemed to get worse every day until I just took off from work to be there to see what was going on with the job. Jesus wasn't there most of the time, just the one or two workers he had there.
I was very unhappy with the way things were going although the workers were friendly, my concern was getting the job done that I had contracted for. The house was a total wreck by this time and I was still listening to Jesus and his promises of what it would look like upon completion, but my mind was wavering.
I came home from work one day and found one of my laundry room rugs in the yard by my shed. I asked them REPEATEDLY to please turn the lights out when they left for the day, but they were left on almost every evening. They would be gone most evenings when I got off by 5 o'clock. they had taken my front and back storm doors loose so that they could leave them open completely back with something against them. The screws had come out or had been taken out. I gave one of the workers $10 to put the screws back in front storm door because it looked so bad the way they had them, leaving them like that every evening. I don't know this workers name by he was the one who was there every day and sometimes he was the only one there. He looked at the door and said that he had to get a tool or something, but never came back to fix it. They ignored my request to fix the storm doors, so I had to deal with it because although I tried, I couldn't fix it. I am disabled, wearing a brace on my left arm/wrist because of joint pain with Rheumatoid arthritis, two knee braces (unable to stand or walk for long periods) and unable to bend down because of back surgery. Because of these medical problems was the main reason I accepted the offer to do the work with JDA Drywall. Jesus made me feel/think that I was paying for a professional job, especially coming through Angi.
I suffered through this entire process, except for maybe the first 2 or 3 days. The rest was a hellish nightmare.
On November 8, 2025, Jesus came to me and asked for an advance so that he could bring in a couple of more workers so that they could finish the job faster. Regretfully, I gave him the $2000, while hoping and praying for the best results, the results that I had been promised.
The work conditions did not change. They left trash every where. On the last day that Jesus was here, he walked through the house with me, and he saw how bad it was, heavy dust and popcorn ceiling pieces laying all around. He rubbed a finer across the top of a picture on the wall and told me that he would have his wife clean and she would clean EVERYTHING and went on to tell me what a good cleaner she is. It never happened and he probably knew that it wasn't going to happen when he was standing there lying to my face, as he had been doing since day #1.
On the last day before they disappeared, two of the workers were trying to sweep but not moving anything to clean underneath the furniture. I went to the living room and started cleaning in there and got one of the workers to help me get it straightened to the place where I could move around and try to get it clean with my one hand.
Yes, regretfully, I paid Jesus the remainder of the contract agreement. They were coming back to do the clean up according to the contract. I told him at that time that I had fulfilled my part of the contract and now he needs to fulfill his part because I am not able to live like this...it was making me sick to breathe in all of the residue that was still in the house. He promised while standing in my house, looking in my face, that he would make sure that everything was as clean as it was when he first came for our first meeting. I smiled but was still not believing him because of all of the lies he had been telling from the start.
i hope I am able to get your assistance with this so that I won't have to take it to court. They should not be allowed to work as professionals and with no insurance.

They left my house on November 11, 2025 and never returned yet.
I have sent and responded to Jesus texts and What's App messages until he stopped communicating with me period and he has NOT COMPLETED his part of the contract. He has taken my kindness for weakness but he need to pay for the damage, lies and destruction that he has brought into my life.
Since moving into my home December 17, 2024, I have had workers in and out with absolutely no problems and great professional results. I had all windows replaced, master bedroom shower replaced, measured and replaced all window blinds, replaced the floors in two rooms, had 5 ceiling fans installed , replaced all of the closet and pantry shelving, replaced toilets, patio door installed, front and back doors are being replaced right after Christmas, which was planned and ordered before JDA came into the picture. at I won't have to take it to court. They should not be allowed to work as professionals and with no insurance.
