JDL Construction

At first, John was very attentive. He responded and showed up when he said he would. We signed a contract in March. It is now August and my house STILL isn't done. We mistakenly paid him before ALL the work was done when he gave us a sob story about how one of his employees (that my NEIGHBORS heard him screaming and cursing at and fired on the spot) messed up the siding and he needed to order more (a 2 week delay) and he REALLY needed the check. We felt bad so we paid him. That was about 6 weeks ago. He always has some life crisis that prevents him showing up or even calling us back. The work is sub par as there were many nails missed on our deck that we had to point out, screws left sticking out, bags of nails and metal shards and cigarette butts left ALL over our lawn, missing caulk on the gutters causing them to leak, etc. He also didn't listen very well when I explained (with pictures) how I wanted the trim so it had to be fixed. He was not happy and insisted I was wrong and he did what I told him to do. I can assure you I did not agree to a white stripe going around my house. There are also wires and cables left all around my house that JDL removed from the old siding that haven't been put back along with clips that hold the electrical box to my house. I just want my house finished. JDL Construction is not trustworthy, not attentive and and left my house an unfinished mess. Updated 12/12/23 DO NOT HIRE!!! If I could give zero stars I would. Stay away. Doesn't do quality work and walks a very fine line of what's "code" and what's actually dangerous. The zoning officer of my township warned me, but we went with them. They take your money and don't return to finish the job.
