We had our full house remodeled by JD and his team between October 2021 and March 2022. I have mixed feelings about working with them, but overall though I would not recommend them to anyone. At first it was a good experience, but as the project went on, there were a number of red flags. *Positives: One of the good things about JD is that he was able to start the project relatively quickly - about 2 weeks after we closed on our house. Also, it's an old house with a lot of issues, and I thought JD did a pretty good job of tackling the various challenges. During the remodel, it was discovered that part of the ceiling had mold damage from an old leak, also some foundation issues, and he was able to fix both. *Negatives: -On several occasions, JD's team dumped reno waste all over our plants in our yard, some of which I'm still cleaning up a month after they left. At one point they were using our patio area as a dumping ground and leaving trash in the flower beds. Our yard has a lot of mature trees, perennials and native shrubs, very forest-like, and the workers showed a complete disregard for the plant life on our property by dumping paint and other waste all over it. -We found JD to be very bad at communication, often not making note of or remembering things we told him, which made the project a lot more frustrating than it needed to be. For example, I told him I didn't want a built in bench to be painted, but he went ahead and painted it anyways. In another incident, he told me they ran out of tiles and I had to order more (from a company that charges $300 for shipping). But when I looked at their work, I could see they weren't following the specs I gave them, resulting in them running out of tile on the wall by going higher than we specified. -He was very unprofessional when it came to billing. For one thing, he sub-contracted out some of the work, but wouldn't give us any invoices for that work. He had a main invoice for the work he did, but then he would just text us with extra charges that we needed to pay, because "he couldn't add them to the invoice", so we have no record of some of the work that was done. Another thing was the surprise charges. Many of these were added towards the end - I had to tell him at one point that we had reached our budget for the project, and we couldn't do any more work beyond what was already on the invoice - over $8000 was added (surprise!) after that conversation. Some was for work that should have been added to the invoice weeks/months earlier. -The overall quality is okay for some things, and just bad for others. We had carpet installed in one room, and some of edges were not finished or attached to the floor. The tile, which we paid $18000 for, has cracks and holes in the grout, sections with no grout, grout and paint stains, and embedded dirt (they're cement tiles) because they weren't sealed. We'll be fixing these things for several weeks, maybe months. This has been the hardest part of the whole experience. Being in the house for less than a month and already experiencing issues really undermines my trust in the rest of the work that JD and his crew did.

"at the beginning of this project we had problems because the electrical cables are not in code and there was not proper insulation on the side walls of your room, I sent you an email with the invoice from the insulation company, after finding damage to the kitchen ceiling you agreed to have it repaired and wanted an estimate to change the roof// which my professional opinion was not to do as your roof was in good condition (honesty)// the water was only coming in from one side of the chimney which we also repaired , when the drywall and painting work was finished and we started the tile we saw that the subfloor was very poorly leveled almost more than 1 3/4 " which made the finish more difficult and we had to charge extra for this leveling , We also discovered that previously someone had moved a structure from the basement and that is why the floor was losing level, a price was estimated and sent and it was accepted and we installed a heater with beems on its sides to prevent that part of the building from collapsing, when the tile began its installation, only the products that the manufacturer company recommends were used, Sealer was applied before and after its application, it is worth mentioning that the quality of this tile is not recommended because it is very fragile and very difficult to care for and maintain, after this my crew cleaned all your exterior and we did all the cleaning of the interior as well, it is also very important to mention that we work without water and heating for a month and a half making it difficult the whole process// the drywall mudd did not dry// the paint dried badly // and the thin set or cement tile was not drying// also the ground took a long time to dry and this may be a reason why it was cut like this, It was never estimated to have an individual heater with propane tanks since the house had these services until the cold caused the water pipe to freeze and the gas company suspended services due to lack of payment making the work longer and tedious but in the end we finished leaving the area clean and everything that was done extra is explained in your invoice, nothing was done without first notifying you and being approved, if your house has any problem you can call us and we will we can repair without any problem , thank you ."

JD Remodeling did an outstanding job in our new to us house. All the workers were very courteous and made every attempt to keep the house as clean as possible while doing a messy job - dry wall work is never without a mess. We are very happy with the end results.

"Sorry (member name removed) for your disagreement, we have had full communication with you and your family members, you cannot leave a pending payment for labors and materials more than a month and a half late and that our schedule is completely friendly only for you, when you said that he had no idea when he deposited the entire part of the money that is being requested by the contract already accepted, and we and our work team could not wait we had to continue with our schedule obviously and by common sense when you made your payment we were already in Another project, however, work was never abandoned, employees were constantly working on their project until these two employees were exposed to covid 19, communicate this to their relatives, therefore in a few days they could not work at home for their your own safety and that of your family, but solve the problem by hiring subcontractors who can follow the project and you I have been very annoyed and I have tried hard trying to make you as happy as possible for more than three months and you still have not been patient with us even after all the extra to the contract that was given to you at work and apart from this the quality of the products that have been installed which exceeded the project estimate already by a long time since the estimate in his project was never on time because his first initial payment was also delayed a month, and to advance the process we had to buy what was in stock even though the prices were higher than the previous estimated products, we have not stopped working on your project and you have already broken my contract more than two times, you have also forgotten everything agreed in writing that is why my communication has to be with their relatives because I was forced to this need, I hope I reconsider their point of opinion and I am from the beginning of this project committed to carrying out everything. to the end.//// we done this project and customer never pay us 12 thousand dollars bad think because we explained everything and why take us longer but he just need excuses for go away whit my money /// angi list is concerned before but after I proof they don't help me for remove fake review and also they don't care if I don't get my final payment."

Jd did an excellent job! Our shower was tiny we wanted to expand the job did not go as expected and jd was able to figure out a solution for us! The job turned out beautiful. Was always on time. Always responded to messages and phone calls. Gave a fair estimate. He will be doing any other home work we need in the future!
