PRECISION and PERFECTION We contacted Jonathan Fisher of JF Construction in late January 2017 with the hopes of having our deck rebuilt in early spring. Jonathan was able to start the project in late February once the decking materials were available and finished in March. My husband and I couldn't have been happier that he was so willing to work through the cold days of winter. I have only the very highest praise for Jonathan's workmanship. Every corner, every joint, every angle displays a high degree of precision. Jonathan has his own internal drive for perfection and that easily shows through in the final results. Jonathan was open to all suggestions or requests and found ways to incorporate our wants and needs into the design. On multiple occasions, he was able to come up with innovative solutions to tricky construction details. One example was his ingenious design for removable skirting panels, which provides us with access to the area beneath the deck. When installed, the removable panels appear seamlessly incorporated into the skirting. Craftsmanship is hard to find and that is certainly what we received from Jonathan.

We liked Jonathan's original proposal except for the choices of railing colors. He immediately researched other suppliers and was quickly back to make the necessary changes to the proposal to get the project started. The building permit and materials came in earlier than anticipated, and the job was begun one week before the anticipated start date and completed in three days. The workmanship and professionalism were outstanding. The deck is beautiful and exceeded our expectations. For me, small family owned and operated businesses usually are the best bet, and this company is no exception. I recommend J & F unconditionally.

"It was a pleasure to work with you. We do have so many options available it can get confusing sometimes. We try to determine what the need is and then present the options that meets that need. It is always useful when clients ask if there is anything that we should know about. For example; The first place a deck will deteriorate is where the wood posts goes into the ground. A solution for this is to bring concrete up to about 4" below ground level and then use our unique method to prevent the post from touching the ground."

Jonathan is really great. He is a very thoughtful and skilled. We really enjoyed working with him. His promptness, timeline and quality of work is everything you expect and seem rarely get anymore. We also had an issue with the end boards and he came out immediately and fixed it. Cant emphasis enough how thorough and good the work done way. Very happy.

"That was a very unique deck. Our goal is 100% customer satisfaction within reason. There are certain unique challenges with deck building, especially with treated lumber that can warp or bow which usually happens within the first 3-4 months. In a case like this we choose to correct the problem even if it was not a workmanship issue."

Jonathan was extremely prompt. He was at my home within days to discus the job. When my wife and I decided to have the project done, J & F Construction returned shortly to complete the project. They cleaned up the site when the project was completed. They cleaned up the site when they were done. The completed job looks great. It is just what we wanted!

After reading multiple reviews I contacted Jonathon for an estimate. He came out the next day and advised of all options. I wanted to initially replace my old builder deck with a vinyl deck that would require no maintenance and would not fade. In our discussions I was convinced that what I really wanted was a screened in porch in addition to just a deck. Jonathon shared photos of some of his past porch jobs, and I was convinced of his skill as a craftsman. The job in total took about 3 weeks to complete. My wife and I could not be happier. The finished porch is simply stunning and unlike anything else in our neighborhood. Our neighbors have given many compliments! Jonathon was very professional, showed up on time, put in a full day's work regardless of the weather, and was responsive to any questions we had along the way. We love it. <br />

We called Jonathan and we had a quote within 2 days. I checked 3 references and all the references thought Jonathan was wonderful. We even visited one of his completed jobs. Our feeling also is that Jonathan is excellent. Jonathan is very professional, prompt and does quality work. He tore down our 10' x 20' deck, including all post and framing. He rebuilt the 10' x 20' and added a new 12' x 20' section. He did the whole job in 6 days from start to finish. His price was very competitve with larger deck companies pricing. He worked with us and was very honest in his recommendations and was very patient when we were making decisions about what material to use. He helped us developand visualize what look we wanted from the deck. He had various samples for us to look at. Finished product is beyond our expectations. We get compliments on how nice, well built and roomy the deck is and we recommend Jonathan every chance we get. <br /> <br /> <br />

I called Jonathan on a Monday morning and he returned my call the same day, and came out the next day to look at the job and provide a quote. I accepted his bid and he got started the next day. He provided thorough information about the various product options. The craftsmanship of the new boardwalk is so much better than what was there before. He did quality work in the time promised and cleaned up completely after the job was finished. I was very pleased and will have him back to do the next phase of our decking replacement when the time comes. <br />

We asked Jonathan to make a modification to the roof on our deck. Jonathan built the deck and roof for us in November 2013 and we have been super happy with it. However, we decided that we wanted a different kind of trim around the perimeter of the soffit. Jonathan did an excellent job and actually didn't charge us anything! You can tell that Jonathan takes great pride in his work. We continue to get compliments on our deck and many neighbors have asked us to refer them to Jonathan for projects at their homes. <br />

We contacted him and he came out and gave us a great price. He started the work right away and got it done in a short amount of time. He did a wondreful job. He matched a the colors and railing of small deck off the bedroom to our new deck. He made a couple of recommendations for our downstairs deck that made it look better than the one above it. He made suggestions for the upstairs deck that would improve its appearance. He did a small deck along the driveway and installed a railing system to make it easier to walk on. Johnathon recommended a decorative handrailing that his the ultiliity railing. We have gotten so many compliments on it and we love it! It is so easy to hold onto and get safely down the steps to the drive way.

Contacted Jonathan about a remodel and he came out the same day to provide an estimate. After about a week or two of getting other bids, I contacted to accept and schedule a start date. Which ended up being 07/07. Him and his crew showed up right on time and got to work. <br /> This is where the only problem occurred. They were only supposed to take off the surface and leave the rails and the wall. However I guess this wasn't properly communicated to the work crew and everything was taken down. He apologized for the mistake and went back to work. He finished the job in the stated amount of time, and the quality of his work was excellent. <br />

Jonathan Fisher started demo of our existing deck the day after Christmas, and for the next two months built us a deck and screened in porch that my wife and I have always dreamed of. I cannot wait until this crazy winter ends, to start enjoying my deck. <br /> With basically very brief help from his kids when they had time, Jonathan did EVERYTHING himself. He weathered the terrible snow and cold we just had the last two months, and kept on plugging away. Jonathan is a true craftsman, and you can tell he really loves what he does. <br />

Jonathan came promptly to provide an estimate. Price was lower than 2 other estimates received and he was available to begin construction (vs. others which estimated several months delay). Only price changes were due to some specific change orders we requested (addition of steps and lights). The work was completed timely and of high quality. The inspector complimented the work on the deck when he issued the final permit on hot tub -(different contractor). <br />

Jonathan just finished building our deck and we couldn't be happier. The quality of the work is better than we could have ever anticipated. We got bids from 4 other contractors and Jonathan was the lowest. The other bidders had a lot of fancy company brochures and folders, and uniforms with their company logos, which Jonathan did not, but I can't imagine the other companies giving us a better product for the money. The best part about it was that Jonathan was on site the entire time the work was being performed and completed much of the work himself. It was reassuring that the person who went through the design process with us was the same person that was actually building the deck. <br />

There can be factors beyond our control where we may not be able to always do that. Example; If a custom rail gets cut incorrectly or gets damaged it can take up to 3 weeks to get a replacement."

Jonathan was very helpful in guiding us to design changes that improved the looks of the deck and kept costs in line. He also explained what he was doing to bring the deck up to current building code. <br /> He brought his polite teenage children to help him during construction. He is great at details and readily accepted any suggestions we had. He beat his original time estimate of three weeks by several days. Jonathan was right on top of any call backs we had. <br /> . <br /> He put all the time we needed into defining what was to be built and that helped greatly in us being totally satisfied with our gorgeous <br /> new deck. I am very, very happy with my new steps, walkway and ramp. Jonathan is very experienced in building decks and it shows in his work. Jonathan has a laid back and friendly personality, but he is very attentive to detail in his work. He made helpful suggestions regarding design that really improved the overall construction. He came everyday and worked a full day (except when it rained heavily). Although Jonathan does not clean up all his tools, etc. at the end of each day, when he completed the project, he cleaned up everything very thoroughly. His wife even came and power-washed the entire area when the construction was completed. My neighbor was so impressed with him that he is having Jonathan replace his wooden deck. <br />

I contacted Jonathan from Angies list. This job was for a ramp/deck for my mother and fathers house. He contacted my parents within and hour, and came over that Monday to their house to give them an estimate. Within 3 weeks, he started the job and finshed the job within the same week.
