Jim's Paving & Chip Sealing

HORRIBLE. Jim stopped by as they were doing some street work in the neighborhood and gave me a $3500 quote to chip seal our long driveway. He said they could do it either that day or the next. I checked his website and agreed. His team came down a few hours later and finished it in one day (wrapping up around dark) and I wrote a check on the spot. It looked great for a few weeks then grass came up through it as they did not do a thorough job. Now, 6 months later, it looks HORRIBLE with huge patches of grass coming through and he won't return calls at all. He responded to one email (of many) and simply said he'd been busy and would be down in a few weeks. That was months ago. Next step = Take him to small claims court to try and get my money back.

The quality of the work is excellent and it was done very quickly. They were easy to reach by phone and email. There was an disagreement after the fact about the work requested. I would just request a very detailed quote that would include dimensions and total price. Also the emails show ASA Asphalt is name of company.

I had Jims paving and chip sealing come out a few months ago to fix areas that are falling apart from the initial job they did. Needless to say neither one of the finished products is holding up. I have cracks all over my driveway ranging from eighth of an inch up to three inches in width and as deep as 2 feet down. The base on the driveway was not compacted good enough and they laid the asphalt to thin on top to where it can easily come up with just me touching it with my fingers. On top of that, when I try to get a hold of Jim to come out and see the faulty work that was done he never does or he says he will but never shows or calls me to tell me he isn't coming. All the while I am wasting my whole day waiting on him. When I finally get a hold of him he says that his business doesn't do any type of repair work as far as sealing and patching the driveways when it clearly states that they do on their website. I hope this helps. I have also attached a few photos of some areas on my driveway that are falling apart for any else that might think this company is reputable.

We caled Jim. He came the very next day, gave us a great price per square foot for chip sealing and patching. We agreed and said, "let's do it". Jim said his crew would be arriving in a couple of hours. They arrived on time, were finished in about 3 hours. Whenever any little problem arose, Jim was on it and resolved things quickly. I recommend Jim and his crew highly. It's no wonder that he has the highest rating on Angier list.

Jim and his crew arrived on time, and completed the entire job in 4 hours. We used the chip seal over an existing gravel/sandstone base. Jim reworked, graded, and leveled trouble spots much better than I could have ever envisioned. It really turned out great! It totally finished the front of the house, and tied everything together. Could not be happier with the end result. Thank you Jim!

After I called and left my name and number he called me the next day. I told him I wanted to do an asphalt driveway and he recommended a chip and seal. He worked with me to get the work done as quickly as possible even though I was waiting for a financing loan. He is wicked awesome! Very old school, shake your hand, kind of guy! I would highly recommend using this provider!
