Jim's Service has been in business 38 years. It is owned and operated by a licensed master plumber, born in Louisiana. Our clients are important to us. Therefore, we supply professional, quality service. We truly believe quality still counts! Our prices are fair and reasonable. We are licensed to work and operate on both the South and North shore. We provide drain and sewer cleaning, installation of bathrooms, kitchens, hot water heaters including instantaneous units. Plumbing and gas inspections for the release of both types of meters. Pipe winterizing, general plumbing repairs, gas piping installation, and underground plumbing and fixture installations. We will work with other subcontracting services and recommend other professional companies services at the clients request. We also provide basic, (honey do!) handyman services to our clients. Just ask!

The work completed were simple, basic repairs. The only part needed was an inexpensive flapper that cost $16. The bill was double the cost of any other plumber for such simple work. His hourly rate works out to about $187 an hour. He has his daughter working with him as his "journeyman", so apparently the customer has to pay not only for his service, but for the training of his daughter??? There is no other reason that can explain a $400 bill for a stopped up toilet and sink. I will never use Jim's Service, Inc. again due to the excessive cost. Roto Rooter will only charge me for one person and half the cost! <br />

Jim got back to me quickly after I sent them a request through the App. Jim showed up on time and did a thorough job. Jim worked clean and walked me through the work being performed.

They appear to have completed the plumbing satisfactorily. They did leave greasy prints all over my walls. Thank goodness for 409. I felt I was overcharged a bit. I asked prior to repair an estimate on what it would cost and was told "it's hard to tell." It would have been nice if he could have at least quoted me their hourly rate so I would have an idea. I had the faucet so the price was for labor. <br />

The first time he came with an older daughter who was his helper. He thought he fixed the issue, but he didn't. I had to call him back to come out again. He came by himself. He was under the sink and I bent down to look at what he was doing and he put his hand on my leg. He used some vulgar language. I asked him how much it would cost and he said nothing, but that I could give him a kiss instead. I don't recommend him to anyone.

Everything was explained to me before the work was performed. Both Jim and his daughter were professional and very nice. We had good conversation while they were working. I was really surprised as to how reasonable the price was. Both my husband and I expected a much higher bill for all the work they did. When they left, they had made sure that everything was clean and probably, In better shape than when they came in. <br />

I called at 7:40 am and Jim answered. He had me scheduled the same day around my schedule. He was courteous and professional. As we were both away from my home, he gave me a time and we actually arrived simultaneously at the time he gave. He has an engaging personality and handled the problem, ensuring that it was completely solved. The price was very fair and we actually talked for about 30 minutes after. He is, undoubtedly, the first person I will call with any problems. I was really impressed with the concern he had for making sure I was happy with the work and the experience. Awesome- very glad to have the problem "solved" finally, not just temporarily fixed. Jim was very straightforward with the job plan and stuck to the agreed on estimate (which was very reasonable.)

Then on Thursday evening we had water leaking in our first floor breakfast ceiling call him and turn off water from second floor toilet that right above first floor ceiling he came back the next day he first said he was sorry that he let his helper make the final connection to the toliet. then he said that a defect toliet but he would take call of it. i said what about the wet sheet rock and the mold then he would pick up on my calls. Called Jim for this job because he had done prior work for me,and he impressed me with his excellent skills and helpful attitude. <br /> At the time he was working in New Orleans,and although he doesn't service the Ponchatoula area, he agreed to go out of his way and stop by my house on his way home that evening. He lives in Mandeville more than 10 miles away. He checked out the shower and traveled 10 miles to the nearest Home Depot for a part, found that they didn't carry it. He then told me he would get the part from another source and returned the next day, repaired the shower and once again left a very satisfied customer. I hope that if I need plumbing work in the future he will agree to come. He is knowledgeable, highly skilled and most of all a kind and caring professional. I highly recommend him to any one needing his expertise. <br />

Jim and Brandy were great. Jim made several emergency trips to our house to stop leaks during the remodel. They did all the work promised on or ahead of schedule. They replaced two leaking water heaters in the attic in spite of oppressive heat. We could not be happier with the work provided by Jim. We will be using him for the rest of our remodel instead of plumber suggested by contractor. He was professional in every way and gave us a very fair price. <br />
