John did great, quick and professional work. I would definitely hire him again.

John and his team did a great job. They showed up on time and worked long hours every day to get the project completed. When unplanned items came up, they were flexible and easy to work with. Highly recommend.

It went ok. Eric was so anxious to start the repairs that he reduced the price which was great, but he started the job a week later than originally planned and my husband miss two days of work because of it. He didn't finish job at 100%. There are couple minor things that still needed to be done that he has not come back to finish. I guess when you have too many jobs going on at once, I guess he figured those few minor things were not important to call and say he wasn't coming back to complete the job. I do however want to thank one his workers (I wish I would have asked him his name) who did most of the work by himself. He was very professional and if I knew his name and number, I would call him for future jobs. Overall the work was fair, but I will not use Eric again or recommend him to anyone.

John was prompt in responding to our phone call, visiting our house to look at the project, and sending an estimate to do the work. We hired him because his estimate was less than the others we had received and because his company's reviews on Angie's List were positive. John certainly did not disappoint us. He and his son NIck worked diligently over a period of two weeks to complete the job to our satisfaction. We appreciate their flexibility in assisting us, responsiveness to our concerns, and friendly demeanor, and we are happy to recommend their services to others and hire them again ourselves.

Although they were not familiar with soundproofing techniques, once provided with the proper materials and instructions, John and Nick did a wonderful job! They spared no effort to follow directions to the letter, to produce the best possible results. As questions arose, we would discuss and agree on the best course of action given the requirements, as well as their extensive construction experience. Most times I did not inspect their work until the end of the day. Any concerns were brought to their attention the next morning, at which time they would address them immediately and satisfactorily, as needed. Although most home owners would not normally require the soundproofing techniques of this job, the professional attributes displayed would greatly benefit any general construction work. My only concern was that John did not provide a written estimate before starting, especially since minor changes were made to the requirements mid-stream. In the end, I was so satisfied with the results, I have already received an estimate for JJ Construction to remodel the rest of the basement space.

It all went well. They are always accommodating. In middle of the project or at the end of project, if there was anything that I wanted to change, regardless of the reasons, he would re-do it or make changes accordingly until we are happy with the results. They are very skillful. One example, they came to the rescue of the bad quality decorative columns that we ordered from a Canadian company, elitetrimworks.com. The bad quality panels were thrown out by us and replaced with real wood panels crafted by them. The end result was fantastic. Very happy with the results.

It was completed within a day as promised and fixed all problems.

John and Nick were very responsive to requests and were always punctual and worked 6 days a week for months to finish our job. They came back multiple times to finish “punch list” items including caulking, trim, and paint touch ups. Sometimes I had to be involved in problem solving some of the hiccups that arose but often John and Nick also came with solutions to problems. Sometimes John and Nick informed us after the fact that something we asked them to do was “extra” so I would recommend establishing early and clearly to have change orders or confirmations of changes that cost extra, but even still for the work they did they completed and the quality we think the price was reasonable and fair.  <br> <br> <br>Now we are in our beautiful new home and are so so happy with what we have gotten thanks to John and Nick at JJ Construction- we couldn’t be happier and would recommend them for any job.   <br>

Overall, I found JJ's quote the most affordable and they stayed on budget at the end of the day. They were also able to accommodate the start of the project in weeks as opposed to month(s). I consider John and Nick honest professionals and I would go back to them again for other work. <br /> All the work turned out good and visually acceptable. This is a general comment about other contractors as well as a specific comment for JJ: <br /> As someone who isn't as home repair savvy, I appreciate knowing how a job is going, if there are any issues or what the challenges may be in advance. I think maybe John is a man of few words, but I didn't get that much from him without probing and I don't always know if I'm asking the right questions. As a home owner, I want to make sure that I'm making the right long term decisions for my house. If I ask for work on job X, but it could actually be less expensive in the long run if a bigger job Y was performed. Maybe job Y is more expensive and I'm not willing to do it, but I would like to know what job Y is... maybe job X will only be good for a couple years and I'll have to do job Y in the future to sell the house anyway. That kind of thinking is something that I'd appreciate when someone is working on my house. <br />

<p>We selected 4 construction companies to estimate the costs for the porch project, and got a list shown in following $27000; $18000; $13750.  JJ Construction gave $8500 and completed a very good job.  </p>

John's estimate was lower than other contractors and the final cost was not much different. John and Nick were nice, professional, and easy to work with.  They were very knowledgeable, followed my design/concept and gave some worthwhile suggestions. They were willing and happy to comply with any sporadic changes/additions I had. Overall, they did a great job. <br />

Fantastic! Very affordable, fast, good quality work. JJ Construction provided a great quote within a few days, and they were able to resolve problems that other contractors botched. I still can't believe how much they accomplished in under 3 days.  <br /> The new ceramic tile floor they installed for us looks amazing. It's perfectly level with immaculate 1/8-inch grout.  <br /> We really appreciate that they helped us figure out the source of water leaks in our exterior stucco / cement wall and fixed the leaks instead of trying to upsell us on an entirely new exterior wall. <br /> They showed up when they said they would, worked tirelessly, and completed the job on time. Cleaned up every day. Really pleasant, knowledgeable, nice guys to work with - highly recommended. <br />

John and his son were very respectful, on time hard working men. <br /> They are also great with dogs..LOL <br /> They finished our basement in 9 or 10 days.  Offered ideas that were better then ours or a couple of things. Also, did exactly what we asked on everything else. The basement is perfect!  <br /> We had so many other estimates from companies on Angie's list and from our local paper. They were priced very high, we thought, for what we wanted. Then we met John,  we were very happy with him. his price was right where we thought it should be. <br /> John and his son even finished the capping on our windows and french door that the installers had left unfinished. <br /> Our only regret is that we didnt hire them to build our deck!! LOL <br /> We will be hiring John again for other projects we have in mind!! <br /> <br />

It went very well. This was a post-inspection repair for my home sales and JJ was very response and accomodative to my shcedule.  He ordered the new window and picked up the new storm door from home improvement store for me. Both myself and the new owner are very happy with the new door/window. <br />

John and Nick have a lot of excellent skills for a small team.  This was a very big project for us as we were doing essential upgrades and needed renovations to our 25 year old house.  John and Nick excelled at the drywall repair, moulding installation, handrail installation and the very large ceiling project (which was to convert a popcorn-covered coffered ceiling to a standard ceiling with drywall and paint).  John and Nick did all of these well. They arrived promptly every morning, worked hard and staged the work. Given the total painting job, it was necessary to move furniture, declutter rooms and shift things around in a large home to be able to paint rooms in 3 colors, and this took us over 3 weeks, and it is unlikely it could have been done sooner with 2 people and the need for us to remove items and furniture from rooms and move items from room to room.   <br /> <br /> Overall, the paint work was done well and the results look very nice. We purchased the paint and some basic supplies, John provided everything else.  Our only complaint about the whole process is that we felt that areas of our home could have been much better protected and covered with tarps when ceilings were rolled and large areas were painted. We found that we had to scrape paint spots off a lot of surfaces and some tops of furniture which was an annoyance to an otherwise well done job. We will also say that the coffered ceiling job looks outstanding and was such a major undertaking that we decided to provide more compensation for that part of the work once we saw the difficulty of that part of the project.  When asked to return for some touchup work, John readily complied.

On the first day, the man who did the removal of the old tub, shower door, and all of the tile did an excellent job and was quite fast (it only took him about 3 hours). The second and third day, Ray, the installer, was awesome! He was a very nice guy, very polite, and he aimed to please. He was also very careful about coming up and down the stairs because I just had my walls painted. I would definitely recommend this company. All of the workers were hospitable, polite, and they wanted to make sure I was happy with the work.

Initially we were pleased with John's responsiveness and friendliness. He was careful with our home, spreading drop clothes around where he was walking, and we were generally pleased with his work up until the point of the shower tiling. He did a very good job on the tile floor and the replacement ceiling was well done as well. <br /> <br /> We have just recently started using the shower (we have still had painting and fixture installation to do on our own so the project continued for a few months after John finished the work for which we hired him) and are already seeing cracks in the grout and are especially dissatisfied with some small mosaic tiles around the shower that he put in. They are a different depth than the larger wall tiles, so they are significantly sunken in, but they are also wavy on the wall, as if the adhesive behind them is uneven. It seems like if we hadn't chosen these additional mosaic tiles the job would have been better overall -- if they weren't feasible I wish he would have said something rather than install them in the manner that they were installed. The shower door also suffered at least one very deep scratch during installation and several smaller scratches. We had him back once to correct some broken tiles we found in the shower and an upside-down soap dish (to be fair, that would be an easy mistake to make -- each side was very similar and he was quick to take care of that issue).  <br /> <br /> We called him back about the cracking grout situation and he suggested we caulk it ourselves to fill in the cracks. In speaking with him on the phone, my husband indicated that John didn't seem to even remember our job. We ended up calling him back again because portions of the grout were taking several days to finally dry. He was more prompt to come out for this issue and ended up replacing a portion of the floor where the slope toward the drain was insufficient and causing the pooling of water.

John and his son are very nice and professional,but they cut corners which I feel I am paying the price for now. The bathroom was subbed out to a couple of guys how did a great job with tile, shower, vanity installation. They put the toilet in incorrectly and had to have another professional fix that. <br /> The floors didn't turn out so well. It's about 6 month slater and they are buckling, uneven and I will need to either replace them or have them reinstalled which makes me frustrated. They seem to have not done adequate job evening out and prepping the subfloor/plywood so it is extremely bouncy and wavy and uneven. I had to push them on it and it still doesn't meet my standards of quality. They also filled in edges and corners in a very sloppy way that I have had to had dug out and redone by another flooring person. For spending so much, I wish it had produced more lasting results. I would have a hard time recommending them for flooring, but the bathroom guys were solid. I guess one other thing is they left the house a mess during the job, with sawdust absolutely all over the walls, etc. Cleanup after they finally finished was massive and I had to hire commercial cleaners. so... <br />
