JMC CONSTRUCTION

Perfectly. This was a substantial job with siding replaced on almost half the house and 5 replaced windows. As always, JMC did a detail-focused job in a timely manner (taking into consideration the very wet spring weather). He found unexpected issues along the way, but presented several possible fixes and worked with us to come up with the optimal solution.

Everything went well and we would hire again in the future for other projects.

Initially, I contacted JMC Construction in the Fall of 2014. Due to delays in my project, work had come to a standstill. I contacted JMC Costruction to update their original estimate to reflect cost increases and add additional items that have come to light and needing repairs. <br /> <br /> One of the items on my list was suppose to be ordered as soon as payment was received and work to begin on a two to three stage repair to occur the week following my payment. I had to request a cost breakdown of the total twice before I received a response. In addition, I made a request by phone and email with photos attached for an estimate of an additional item that needed to be addressed and to date, I have not received a response. <br /> <br /> The items that could have been addressed in regards to my project that were ordered and prepaid in half by me awaiting inspection at time of pickup by JMC were not addressed. I planned to pay the balance owed supplier. This was communicated to JMC. Instead of a call on arrival and inspection, I received an email later that day to pay the balance after JMC had come and gone from the supplier. (The supplier had disclosed to me their concern with storing items in their warehouse and possible damage which was why I wanted them inspected on pickup and removal which did not occur.). <br /> <br /> Furthermore, at the same time that JMC was using the weather as an excuse to not have initiated work on my project, JMC wanted to paint my front door which was on the list of items to be repaired/replaced/painted, etc. <br /> <br /> After three to four weeks has gone by without communication or work on my home, I have requested a refund of my downpayment minus materials purchased on my behalf but not to order additional items. I wanted to retrieve items ordered on my behalf and paid for so that the special ordered item and items that I ordered myself could be installed by another contractor of my choice. I have not received an itemized bill for the charge of the door, credit on my original form of purchase, or the check in the mail.

These guys are great.  Hardworking, knowledgeable and detailed oriented.  We will use them again, for sure.  They're busy because they're so good, so the start date may be out a few weeks but you won't be disappointed.

JMC (Eric) is a perfectionist.  Everything he does is just done right.  He's completely professional in demeanor and is very good at explaining every step of the process beforehand as well as during the project itself.  When he comes across an unexpected situation during the job, he clearly explains what he's found and then offers several possible fixes (with the each option's pricing).  In other words, you are never blindsided at the end of the project with extra items on the bill. <br /> JMC has done other siding and window projects for us over the past 3 years and all have held up perfectly in that time.

Emailed JMC Construction and received a call right back.  Eric made an appointment to visit and give me an estimate.  He came at the appointed time, looked at the work I wanted done and went back to work on an estimate which I received the next day. It was divided into three parts: Remove and replace 35' of fascia and damaged sofit , Replace drip edge and pvc trim, and remove 10' of fascia board for investigative problem.  We agreed on a date that he could start the work. We had some problems with rainy weather but he kept me informed.  He began the work on June 14,  keeping me up to date on what he was doing and the additional problems he was finding.  He fixed all the work we talked about and some additional work that needed fixing.  I was very pleased with his work and agreed that I would call him again in a few weeks to have him return to check out the rest of the outside of the house for places that need fixing. We are going to do that in the next few weeks.

Eric visited several times in order to understand the work to be performed and to answer questions. He worked with me to produce a detailed contract which was acceptable to both of us. When work started, Eric worked every day on this project. Depending on the work to be performed, he had either one (siding replacement) or three (painting) assistants. He was always very professional and responded well when unexpected problems appeared. He also made sure that when he left for the day, the house was left in a condition which would withstand any expected weather. He frequently solicited questions and comments concerning the work. When the project was completed, he took time to point out potential problem areas on the house. The house and yard were left clean. I will definitely keep JMC in mind for future projects.

Eric and Mike do all the work themselves. They both came on the site visit for the estimate so we got to meet them both at that time. They are both very pleasant, polite and professional. They started the job promptly, finished earlier than I expected and left all the work areas completely clean. They were very scrupulous in making sure the entire job was being done just as we wanted. I had asked them during the estimate how they would be wrapping our beams. We had extra concerns about the beams since they are part of the distinct architecture of the house. The wrapped beams end up looking better than I had imagined.
