Norris is the ONLY appliance repair company I call. Over the years for different appliance repairs, fridge, range, washer, and most recently dryer, i have received quality service at a fair price. The guys are professional, personable, punctual and know what they are doing. The most recent experience last week for a dryer with no heat. Nick was on time, diagnosed the issue in minutes of a bad thermal fuse, had the part, replaced, and heat was fixed. I can call them for small repairs for a fair price and they respond immediately and set appointments within a day or 2. No other appliance repair companies are needed with Norris as our go to appliance repair co.

I get that a fee needs to be charged for an estimate because service people would spend their days giving free estimates and not actually getting the jobs to customers who are simply price shopping. When I spoke to them on the phone they did tell me that there was a $65 charge to come out to look and that would be waived if I chose to have them do the work. I thought that was fair. But when the service man arrived he told me right away that there wasn't anything he could do for me. How can I choose to have somebody do the work when they cannot perform the service? I felt like the service industry has turned the tables on both the customers who are simply price shopping as well as the rest of us that have the full intention of having the work done. By giving a couple $65 "No can do estimates" each day they are making a very healthy days wages without having to do anything at all. I paid the $65 without hassle as per the agreement but in my opinion that crosses the line of professionalism and so for the professionalism aspect of this review I give them an "F". Shoppers beware of the loopholes in verbal agreements!!!

He did not fix it the first time, and I called, it took new parts and he came, I mean they were very prompt, very responsive and he came back. There was not a service charge the second time he came back and we went through the whole thing again with a new part and he determined what the problem was, but then it was still acting up and I called and left a message and the owner got back to me. The owner said here's what I want you to do, please use the oven, try baking with it and then monitor the temperature. He said if it's still acting up you call me and I'll come out myself. So they were extremely responsive. I have no idea, because I don't know what the costs run these days. I mean, I couldn't buy a new stove for that, but. He spent a good deal of time, he was not, it wasn't I need to install these parts and run out of your house. He explained to me everything he was doing, he explained what was happening with the oven, he explained the heating procedure. I mean, I learned a lot.

I felt that Joel was very friendly and honest. He knew what he was doing. I felt confident in him and his advice. We’re very satisfied with his service. I would call him again if I needed someone for appliance repair. Really considering that he included the equipment and labor in the total, I thought the price was reasonable.

The owner of the company came himself. He pulled up in an unlabeled white pick up truck. He came in and charged $59. He didn't do anything at all. He opened the refrigerator and turned the temperature gauge off. He left the doors open for a short while then he turned the gauge back on and shut the doors and said it was working fine. We still couldn't get the refrigerator under 45 degrees. We decided to call general electric, the manufacturer, directly. They said there was no way the technician could have checked the refrigerator with doing as little as he did. After talking to general electric, we ended up having to purchase a new refrigerator. I feel as if I completely wasted $59.

Called because my refrigerator fan was making noise technician narrowed it down to the heater in the ice maker. Told me it was freezing up which was allowing water to get behind the back panel in the freezer, where the water would freeze and when the fan came on the fan would hit the ice. I informed him I could install the ice maker he had no problem with that he also advised me to completely defrost the refrigerator by shutting it off for 24 hours . So waiting on the ice maker from appliance zone and I'll install it and see what happens he did say call him back if there's a problem <br />

It’s a small operation. I called on a weekend and they answered the phone. I didn’t really expect the phone to be answered, I expected to leave a message but Joel Norris himself answered the phone and he was here on Monday morning. I didn’t have any issues since they fixed my dryer.

I called on a Monday morning after the fridge began misbehaving over the weekend. I desperately needed someone to come by the same day, since my frozen food had already defrosted and I was rapidly losing the rest of the food in the fridge. My phone call was answered right away by the service coordinator, who was very friendly. She said she would contact their technician, got my information, and said she would call right back. She returned my call within five minutes, and said that luckily Joel was in my neighborhood and could come by immediately. The service coordinator also made sure I understood the service charges before Joel arrived, which I appreciated. The charge is $59 to come and look at the appliance, which is credited toward the cost of labor if any labor is required. Joel arrived within ten minutes. He was able to diagnose the problem with the fridge immediately (something to do with the compressor attempting to run on overload) and had the part to fix it. He clearly told me my options in terms of fixing the fridge, including how much they would cost and the likelihood of success. I really appreciated that he was direct and up-front about what my options were, rather than trying to sell me on the most expensive option. Once I made my decision, he was able to install the part within about ten minutes. Joel also gave me some advice about how to avoid similar problems in the future. Overall, I was extremely pleased with Joel Norris Appliance Repair, and I would highly recommend this business to others. <br />

I called four appliance repair companies, found via Angie's List on Sunday, this company returned my call later that day and scheduled the repair first thing Monday morning. The other companies all returned my call Monday morning. Appliance repairman called promptly at 9 AM and was able to fix the ignitor within 20-30 minutes. It was a very smooth transaction. Oven works great now. <br />

I had called Joel on several occasions and he never seems to like what he's doing. Once I had him in to look at stove in tenant property and he tried to repair but I ended up getting new stove, The last time he came out for my stove and I felt he overcharged me both times. the feeling I get is that he really doesn't like what he does and I'm not sure I feel confident that he does know exactly what he's doing. We got lucky and there was a cancellation which pushed us to next day, otherwise we'd have waited about a week for repairs. Joel was prompt, had parts on truck, and had the dryer working again w/i about a half an hour. <br />
