The first (cheaper) contractor I hired completely botched the job and ruined a roll of expensive paper. John saved the day. He prepped the walls and meticulously matched the busy pattern. The finished job looks great. I recommend him without reservation ( and I enjoyed talking with him too)!

It went very well. John is extremely talented and confident in his abilities, We have a Victorian home with historic wallpapers throughout.. Our regular wallpaper guy became disabled and was no longer able to hang wallpaper. We found John through Angie's List and could not believe that we were fortunate enough to find a qualified replacement. We highly recommend this business.

They did a perfect job. I wanted it done before Christmas and they did all they could so that this would happen. I work all the time, and all our communication was on the phone. I arranged for him to be able to get into the house and trusted that this would work out, based on all the other reviews that I had read about his perfectionism. It all worked out beautifully. The paper looks wonderful. They were really worked with me to get this done. If you ever need wallpapering, call him!

John and his grandson, Mark, started right on time on the date and at the time promised. John was careful in the drywall and plaster repair, taking care that the textured pattern of the new plaster matched that of the old plaster. The painting was done neatly and carefully using high quality paint matching the color we requested. The work took one day longer than the 4 days estimated. But John and Mark came every day until the work was finished. The walls and ceilings had never been painted before and the plaster absorbed more paint than John had estimated. John explained this to us when it became apparent that more paint would be needed. We agreed to pay for the additional paint at his discounted cost. The repaired, repainted garage is beautiful.

The work was excellent, very professional, responsive, walked me through the process and cleaned up after their work and John was doing the job with his grandson and was here the whole time. We are going to be scheduling to put up a wallpaper on our dining room this coming fall.

I am building a dental office from the ground up so I've worked with a lot of different trades along the way. I would have to rank John and his grandson right at the top of the professionals I've worked with during the buildout. He knows everything about wallpaper and does exceptional work. He hung 3 different types of wallpaper for me and he really took the time to do it right. I love working with people w high standards so it was really easy for me to trust John after seeing him complete the first of 3 wallpaper projects. He's not cheap, but no one who's a master of their craft should be. Worth every penny to have a professional like John do the project right so that you can enjoy it without always noticing something that could of been done better. He's a pleasure to work with and has a really good sense of humor (as long as you're not getting in the way of his work). I would highly recommend!

John and his Grandson, Marcus, were a delight to work with. Very professional. Very detailed. Very meticulous. John knows his craft and insists on quality. You would never know the plaster walls had holes in them from the whole house rewire we had done earlier in the year. John and Marcus went above and beyond to make us happy and even took on additional tasks outside of the original scope of work. You just don’t find craftsman like John nowadays. You get what you pay for.

Work took longer than we expected but this was mainly due to the condition of the walls and John's attention to detail. Result was very positive.

John was great to work with from the start. He came and quoted us a reasonable price. We had some very unique wallpaper that had some special instructions. He was able to complete the work. John made the process painless from the start. He sent a message as soon as I requested services online, and we talked on the phone the next day. He arrived to provide a quotation at the exact time he stated and his quotation matched his estimate from our phone conversation. When calling to set up the actual install date, he was again very responsive. The day of install, he arrived when he said he would and completed the work very quickly. The end product looks awesome, even with having to line up several different sections due to non-removable shelves and dividers. I had to get really close to even notice that there is a seam. If you have wallpaper to install, John Baker, Jr. is the man to do it!

John is a seasoned professional who takes significant pride in his work. He is meticulous and an old school craftsman. He doesn't skip corners to do the job right. He works at a steady deliberate pace that takes some getting used to but the finished product is worth it. I have used him before and will again.
