This one-star review is based solely upon the unresponsiveness and deceit of the co-owner of the company, Chase. It is not an indictment against any other employees, and in fact, Andrew was very respectful and I wish him the best. The first day, everything went great. We had a piping repair done, and had our water heater replaced and a water softener installed, and everything was nearly completed the first day. And that's when Chase went off the grid, and would only respond to me when I threatened to leave a bad review of the company. He deceived me about shipping me a product I was owed for MONTHS, and when I finally confronted it with him head on, he couldn't offer a valid explanation. In addition, it took hounding to get him to come back out and insulate the water softener pipes that he didn't have insulation for the day of the install (which he assured me on Day 1 he'd be back soon to take care of) In addition, he doesn't stand behind his work. He installed heat tape around a pipe that was freezing up and told me to seal the drywall up (and told me he'd give me a recommendation for a drywaller on Day 1, which I asked him for several times and he finally said he didn't have). I did so, and in less than a year, the pipe had frozen again. He had installed it into a HEATIT Thermostatically Controlled Outlet, which I didn't think anything of because I'm not a plumber...until the first freeze when the water overflowed down my replaced drywall and flooded my laundry room floor. After thinking about it, that was a faulty install, because it was on the outside of the drywall he told me to replace, and the heat tape was on the inside where it was much colder than room temperature (so the heat tape wasn't kicking on because it was plugged into the outlet, which was reading room temperature). So I took out the outlet and began plugging the heat tape in in advance during below freezing days when I needed to do laundry. Eventually, it overflowed again and he sent Andrew out. I told Andrew I didn't want to pay to repair the drywall again because it had to be done at an angle and cost $200, and there was clearly an issue with the install due to repeat freezing, and Andrew called Chase to address how to proceed. Chase told Andrew that he told me I wasn't supposed to seal the drywall up, which is not only false, but would make no sense because I'd have a draft coming into my house. The conversation escalated when he said he couldn't be held liable for drywall work around a frozen pipe off a garage, because my laundry room is on the opposite side of the house, connected to my kitchen. It's not in some unheated area, which he was implying. And when I told him so and asked him if he'd like to speak to Andrew to confirm it, he said he didn't appreciate my tone. So I gave him a piece of my mind and told him I'd leave the rest of what I had to say in a review of the business. And that's the reason for this one-star review.

Everything went well and was completed in less then an hour. I neglected to ask for an estimate as the technician made it seem like a piece of cake and only three small seals. Completely ignorant on my part. The final bill was $450 but he brought it down to $395 because I was upset. Again, three seals in less than an hour.

"We are sorry that you are unpleased with the price of the same-day service we were able to provide for your business. I looked over your invoice and felt that the prices we offered were very competitive."

He got the job done, but we felt that the price was a bit high for 10 minutes of work, and that he did not present a professional appearance. He was wearing shorts rather than trousers. Other plumbers we have used would put on footies over their shoes, but he didn't. My husband thought he was wearing slippers! My husband also thought he should have cleaned up better after himself. There was water on the floor from his testing the blockage. We had a shop vac in clear view that he could have used (or could have asked to use), but he just left the water on the basement floor.

Had water coming into the finished basement; discovered a crack in the basement wall and it was suggested by the basement people that we have the perimeter drain tile to the sump examined for any blockages or reasons that water might have been accumulating where the crack was located. My initial phone call was answered promptly and professionally, and Jason came out the following day to look at the drains. A machine with a camera on the snake was used, and you could view the interior of the drain pipe. Jason showed me potential problems with the sewer drain where tree roots had infiltrated. I appreciated that I was not pressured to buy or do anything as a result of their service which was only to inspect the drain tile. I would definitely use them again and may have found my new plumbing service contractor.

Jason arrived on time, looked at our concerns and knew exactly what needed to be done. This was the second time we worked with this company. The first time was for a clogged drain. Everything was done well and we are totally satisfied with the services provided. We will hire them again when a plumber is needed.

Not real well. Efforts destroyed the drain’s trap. We were told only alternative was to jackhammer the floor and construct new drain line. Decided to get another opinion.

Great company, service and value! I contacted John Fowler's Plumbing based on reviews, its 30 years of experience that it is a family-owned business. I've been a homeowner for over 30 years and have used various plumbers over that time. I believe I've been treated fairly because I chose reputable plumbers. However, my experience with Fowler's is exceptional. I dealt primarily with Chase Seals who was knowledgeable, inspired confidence and trust in what could have been a very expensive repair. They were prompt, efficient and very courteous. I will choose Fowlers in the future - hopefully, the distant future.

John Fowler's Sewer & Drain was great! They got me in within one day. Arrived on time on a Saturday. They ran a line through the kitchen sink pipes and unclogged all my drains in less than an hour. Super friendly guys and very helpful. Before they left, they gave me some good recommendations to keep my drains clean. They asked if I was an Angie's List member so I was sure to get my 5% discount. I was expecting the price to be much higher, so I was very pleased when the cost came to $150 with my discount. Hire this company! You won't be disappointed.

Great! John is professional, attentive, and kind of like a handy next door neighbor. He looks out for you. I've referred him to my mother in law and he helped them avoid shutting down while working in the restaurant's kitchen. Great guy!

I've used John in the past for the same exact thing the year before. He lives a few houses down from me, and was able to come to my house about 20 minutes after I called at 7 am on a Saturday morning.

John had the line cleaned out within 30 minutes. I know that i have a busted drain line out in my yard, and I know that the tree above it loves to drink from the line, clogging up the line around the same time every year. The repair costs are intimidating, though.

He's a fair businessman, and very knowledgeable about plumbing. I trust his judgment and will use him in the future for my plumbing needs.

I called John on a Saturday because I could not get my kitchen sink to drain. John did come to my house on a Sunday, but did not charge extra. He was unable to open the drain, so we agreed we would return on Wednesday and replace the kitchen sink plumbing and prep for a dishwasher to be installed. His work was quality and he was efficient.
