He did a good job but missed a space that needed mortar between 2 bricks at ground level. I called and he sent someone to fix it within a few days. I am completely satisfied with his work. <br />

John Paul took my old chimney and sealed it in stone. The result is a completely new chimney that doesn't leak. The look is like an entirely new stone chimney, beautiful! <br />

We did not use them, but they came out to give us the estimate right away. They were great and super-helpful. The reason we got Angie's List was to look into masonry, but we realized it was cheaper to do it ourselves. They came out and gave us an estimate within days.

The guy is great but he isn't very well organized, there was a damage occurred to my irrigation system and he said he was not responsible for it. The quality of his work was great, actually, the guy is nice.

John Paul was reponsive and prompt to do the inspection for the estimate.  After the proposal was accepted, the miscommunication and then complete lack of communication began.  I was unable to get any kind of schedule or idea of when the work would be done.  Finally after more than 3 weeks with no contact, I started the process of getting some new estimates and started to accept a proposal with another contractor.  The following morning John Paul called me to say he would be out that morning to do the chimney work, and that he would do the finish work the following day.  This was all very unexpected. <br /> The work itself was done well and John was very nice. <br />

John returned a phone message I left and said he would come by while I was at work and look at the area I wanted an estimate on for some tuckpointing and minor brick repair. He got back in touch with me in a few days with an estimate and we agreed on a time for the repair. He arrived on time and did an excellent job of repairing the brick damage with some leftover brick I had and tuckpointed some areas that needed some work. I also asked him too repair some loose brick on my chimney that was not in the original estimate. He matched the mortar very well and the repairs blended in so well you would have to point them out or you would never notice it. He left the work area clean and did a professional job.

They did an excellent job. They came on time and worked hard from beginning to end!

I called on Thursday, he gave estimate on Friday, started Monday and finished on Tuesday. Wow. <br /> We have a fireplace in our family room that had a wood burning stove installed in it. We wanted to <br /> restore it to a full fire place. The original opening was 42" wide X 42" high. We wanted it lowered <br /> to 32" in order to accept a standard set of glass doors and so that we could lower the mantel and <br /> install a flat panel TV above it.  The original damper for the fireplace had been removed and we need a new one <br /> installed. <br /> I had other contractors provide bids, and we had trouble finding someone that would do the work we wanted <br /> in a timely manner. John came out, listened to what we wanted, inspected the fireplace, went on the roof and <br /> inspected the chimmney,( the only one that did),  took measurements of everything, and gave a bid that was <br /> competetive with everyone elses. He recommended we put in a steel damper versus a chimney cap type and explained <br /> why and we decided to go with his recommendation. Note: that this is considerably more  labor intensive and expensive, but I'll never have to worry about climbing on my roof to fix a sticking damper and Johns price was less than some we recieved for just installing the cap. <br /> John and his assistant were here with the new damper bright and early Monday morning. They were very polite and respectful. They needed to cut into the fire wall to properly install the new damper. When they did they discovered another wall of concrete brick behind it which wouldn't allow the  damper to fit in properly. John traveled quite some distance to find a damper that would fit in the confined space. He showed up the next morning with the new part installed it and finished the remaining work by that afternoon. <br /> I very carefully inspected his work and found it flawless. <br /> The true mark of any contractor is what they do when things don't go according to plan. John was outstanding. <br /> He completed what he said he would, when he said he'd to it (original estimate was 1-2 days) and at the price he quoted. <br /> He used nothing but the highest quality materials, was on time, dependable and trustworthy. <br /> Don't let his quiet, humble demeanor mislead you John is a high skilled craftsman and a very dependable contractor. <br />   <br /> <br />

I had my chimney tuckpointed and settlement cracks ground and repaired in the exterior bricks of my home.  John, the owner, personally met with with me and we reviewed the scope of work together.  I also requested quotes from two other contractors.  John's quote was the lowest in cost but actually involved the most work.  Regarding the actual work, he did exactly what he said he was going to do.  The only additional amount charged was for a couple cans of wasp spray because they were nesting in the area of his work.  This was twelve dollars and he provided the receipt.  One of the other contractors said he would not even perform the work unless I had the wasps professionally exterminated - John took care of this himself.  This no nonsense approach to the work, fairness and attention to detail reminds me of the old school work ethic that was common in the building trades years ago.  Very satisfied and highly recommend.

It was a good price.  They were very professional.  I trusted their judgment.  They did what they said they were going to do.  The price was surprisingly reasonable.  They did a super job.
