Joseph Downey Small Job Specialist

A godsend for those annoying jobs that are too random for a general contractor but too big to DIY (or you just aren't getting around to it!!). Joseph's team can solve a lot of problems. Not every problem, but I have yet to think of one they can't solve.

We hired Joseph to install a new under-cabinet microwave that did not match the footprint of the old one, requiring some tile work. He did a great job and you can't tell that some serious rejiggering was required. He also did a great job replacing several old, single pane, oddly sized windows. Clearly the previous owners couldn't have been bothered to find non-factory size windows, but he sourced great replacements, did a beautiful job installing them promptly, dealt with supply chain issues with grace, and even included finishing touches we hadn't thought of, like installing a curtain rod and curtain for a shower window. The windows and microwave have been there a couple years now and are doing great!

Joe and his men were very professional and extremely easy to relate to. Joe listened to what I wanted and then made it happen. They actually worked all day in the 90 plus degree heat in order to complete the work. I would not hesitate to call on Joe for any other projects I may have in the future.

It went great! Appreciated that Joe had his crew come out very quickly as work needed doing asap. Work was done in about 1/2 day which was quite impressive considering they had to install about 200 ft of shoe molding to cover up space between baseboard and floor where floor had sagged a bit. And they put insulation behind the new molding to cut down on drafts! Much appreciated.

The grout around the old 4-inch tiles in our little bathroom could not handle the use from 5 people. It was always so hard to clean—beyond help. I couldn’t stand it but I didn’t want a big extensive job because we hope to do a bigger renovation someday. Joe was responsive and listened to what I wanted: nothing fancy—just a solution for now that will be functional and easy to maintain. I don’t like when people try to upsell and there was none of that with Joe. Treating the tiles and installing the tub surround was the right solution for us and he came within a few days. I called him because he was recommended on my community Facebook page so I feel confident. Nice guy and I would definitely call him again. Price was good and I really appreciate that he listened to what I wanted. He told us everything is guaranteed and if we have any issues to call him right away and not try to take care of it ourselves. I doubt there will be issues but it feels good to know that I don’t have to hesitate to call. He also told me how to take care of the surround (no scrubbing! Yay!) and thanked me for the opportunity to work on our bathroom. :)

Mr. Downey has arranged for several of my apartments to have the floors refinished. Every time the results are very impressive and the price is surprisingly low compared to other bids. I strongly recommend Joe Downey for all the services I mentioned above.

Joe responded to our phone calls promptly. (He always calls back the same day). He listened to what we needed done. We scheduled the work and he arrived with all the materials needed to complete the job. He was pleasant, responsive, and responsible.

Fantastic! Joseph was able to fix valve in shower wall without taking down tile wall after a previous plumber was unable to do it. Job cost 1/4 what it would have and was done in 2 hours rather than multiple days. Very experienced, honest and responsive.

Excellent. From the very beginning, Joe was responsive in calling me back, answering my questions, and giving me a quote. We met at the job site and Joe & Jen were an incredible team! Jen did an amazing job breaking up unanticipated rocks and Joe problem-solved to craft the post to fit the mailbox as well as some other extra tips only known from experience. Pouring the concrete sealed the deal. I would highly recommend.

Everything Joe does is excellent. The work is always done well and completed on time and the bid is always the lowest. Very hard-working gentleman. EXCELLENT. Joseph arrived on time with all the required personnel and equipment and knowledge to perform the work expertly and efficiently. Left the work area spotless. Even took away the packaging from the new microwave he installed. Came and left before the window of arrival time was even up. Friendly, personable, responsive, and knowledgeable. I could not be any more satisfied with his service and would love to hire him again for another job.

Joe has been with us for over a year now and writing a review after the one year mark seemed appropriate. Joe and his team are exactly what my dad and myself needed for off hands property management. Joe puts his clients and his client's tenants in-front of anything else. He does whatever he can to know all the ins and outs of your property without any interruption. Both my father and myself are relaxed knowing Joe has our property managed. Him and his team have also done great with apartment turn arounds and renovations within the past year. Joe is a one stop shop with professionalism, experience, timeliness, and great workmanship.

We had a two bedroom apartment painted and it came out great. It was done quick and cleanly right before the new tenant moved in. Joe and his team do an excellent job at interior painting.

Joe and his team took care of two apartment turn overs in a timely fashion. One required a full paint job which required 3-4 coats. The paint job came out amazing even the stain on the wood work was A+

Joe came promptly. He was wonderful. Excellent carpentry but very involved in making sure the job was done with high standards. Very responsive (he does what he says he will do!). I would use him again in a heartbeat!

I've hired Joe a number of times for a variety of jobs. Most recently I hired Joe and his assistant to caulk and seal the hardwood floors and baseboards then install quarter rounds on all of the hardwood floors. They did a great job. Cleaned up after themselves. Joe was also very accommodating and agreed to do a last minute job while he was here. He removed speakers that were installed in the living room walls, patched and plastered the walls. I am sure I will see Joe soon as he is my go to handyman.
