JR’s crew member did an outstanding job! Our spruce, weeping cherry and Japanese maple all needed professional pruning, and we decided to have him plant a pink crabapple in honor of our 40th wedding anniversary. Our front yard looks so much better with all of that work completed.

Everything they promised, they did.

They were great. They were a little pricey but, they killed themselves. I really don't have any complaints.

This year, I began to notice they were cutting back on the frequency of visits to my house, and my landscape was beginning to get overgrown.  At first, I shrugged it off, figuring it was a one-time deal because it was so out of character for them, but then it kept happening, and I was forced to do my own trimming of shrubs and bushes to keep my landscape looking good.  I take pride in my yard, and I do not like when the landscape starts to look unkempt.  I finally called to complain, and the landscape supervisor was more than attentive and treated me like the long-time customer that I was, and promptly sent out a crew to accommodate my concerns.  Yes, it took a couple times for them to get things "just right" to my standards and expectations, but they cared about me and my business, and put forth the effort and great customer service that I thought they might have lost.  They have subsequently followed up with me to make sure I was satisfied, and have communicated regularly with me to let me know when they would be out.  I am feeling back to normal now after some minor hiccups, and the quality I expect has returned.  They recently came out last week to do a minor visit to trim and fluff mulch and I was very happy with their work.  I was really pleased that they cared enough and they exhibited real customer service in dealing with my concerns.  As far as I'm concerned, it is old news, and they are back on top of their game.  I will continue to use their services and will not hesitate to use them for any projects or large jobs in the future. <br />

The garage was built into the hillside sometime in the 1970's and the area between it and the property perimeter fence (approximately 16ft wide) was terraced.  It was not a professional job. The former homeowners used pieces of old broken concrete and rocks that were in no way a uniform size.  The entire area has been "listing to port" for the past 30 years that we have lived in this house.  J.R.'s workers (and did they ever work!) removed all the debris and then proceeded to rebuild.  What we have now is far beyond our expectations!  It is a simple plan with 2 retaining walls, large stone slabs for steps and a flat area that can be used for whatever we care to do  We love it!  The design is simple, low maintenance and very, very attractive.  <br /> <br /> Everyone connected with J.R. Thomas Landscaping is "top shelf".  Smart, hard working, professional and all have a good sense of humor.  We rate J.R. and his crew - Excellent +++++.

After using a couple different landscapers in Cincinnati we have settled on J.R. They are always professional and on time.  They cleaned daily.  Their crew is friendly.  They work hard especially when it's hot.  We have used them for about 5 years.  He also has planted trees.  The owner comes on site when there's a big project going on.

The experience with J.R. Thomas Landscape could not have been better.  They were courteous, prompt, professional and always seemed to go the extra mile to explain what was going on and options to explore. <br /> We live in a newer development with few trees and just a simple builder 10x10 concrete patio.  We received bids from 3 firms to install a new paver patio and we walked them all through what we wanted in a design concept.   J.R. Thomas was the only person to ask us about what was important to us from a functionality perspective and to come back with a design and concept ten times better than what we asked for a similar price quoted by others.  J.R. explained why they made the choices they did and how this would fit the functionality requirements.   <br /> When they started work they were very detailed in explaining what they were doing, when they would be back and the plan for completion. They seemed to be meticulous about the work, making sure the patio had the correct pitch for drainage, beds looked correct, and trees planted correctly.  We have a dog and two children and they were very conscientious about how they left the yard each night, making sure to clean up and close gates, etc. <br />

At least three people came to do this and it took 60 days.  They arrived on time and when they finished they tore up the irrigation system. We went back and forth with them and they did pay for the system to get fixed.  We have been satisfied with them. They have replaced the trees that died and lived up to their warranty.

Done on time and within promised duration, looks really much better. <br />

Excellent work. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We'll be using them in the future for all of our landscaping needs. <br />

This spring the crew did clean-up, edging, pruning and mulching.  They left everything  pristine and we have received many compliments from neighbors walking by. <br />

We were very happy with the work. The workers were efficient and it looks great! This is the second time we have used them. We will use them again if we have another project.

They cleared some of the brush, and left other brush and huge cut pieces of the trunk. It started to rain and the on-site manager said they would come back Monday and finish the job. They didn't show up. I called him and he said they were on another job and they would be back Wednesday. They didn't show up. When I called again the person who answered very brusquely told me that they had no intention of coming back. I left a message on their web site and they never responded.

JR was very accommodating in getting an estimate to me as quickly as possible and in completing the job before an event at my home, even when it meant working around other contractors. The estimate seemed a little high BUT I had completely underestimated the amount of work involved. I do feel that I got a very FAIR value for the amount of work that was done. I needed a paver patio removed and a new one installed and JR recommended a terrific contractor for that job, who also exceeded my expectations. JR walked the property with me and made suggestions as to what needed to be done as far as removing dead, overgrown plants; solving a run-off problem; and recommending the best plants to use. JR sent a very nice, hard-working crew. Chris was in charge of the project and had another person with him every day. The project took five days. Chris is extremely knowledgeable about shrubs and trees and was helpful in pointing out some potential problems and suggested remedies and also went over the care routine for the new plants. They started the job by removing dead and overgrown shrubs and also removing every inch of thick mulch that had accumulated over many years of piling it on. All of my shrubs were trimmed by hand into more natural shapes. All of the borders of the landscape beds were redefined with sharp, clean cuts. Two retaining walls around my patio were restacked. Large landscaping gravel was used in a wash area. A high-quality, natural, undyed mulch was used in all the beds. Three large shrubs were planted and five smaller ones, as well as seven mums for color. Three large trees were pruned. Chris was good at solving any problems or getting quick answers from JR about how to proceed within the proposed cost. The crew arrived early every morning and left a clean jobsite every night. JR stopped by several times to check on the progress of the job and see if I had any concerns. The landscaping looks so much fresher and very professionally done. I am really proud of the way my yard looks now and would highly recommend JR Thomas landscaping to anyone. JR is a gentleman with deep experience as a professional landscaper. I think I called the perfect person for taking care of my landscaping needs. I love the end result! I even had a surprise visit from the crew a week later asking if there was anything that needed to be taken care of that they might have missed or if I had any concerns. :) HIGHEST recommendation. <br />

JR Thomas Landscaping was quick to meet with us and work with us on a design.  Once completed they gave us a price and moved quickly to secure the stone we wanted.  Wants the stone was in (~10 days) they were on the job and completed the job in 2-3 days as was discussed.  While they are not cheap, they do excellent work and there were no surprises.  I will call them again if I have additional landscaping. <br />

My visit for an estimate was scheduled within 1 week of my call. JR completed a very thorough walk through of the entire property and discussed in detail the type of work that I wanted done. He provided a very detailed estimate of the work proposed. Due to their very busy schedule, my project was scheduled for about 6 weeks later. The 2 man crew did an excellent job - JR checked in to ensure that all was completed as we had discussed. I am very pleased with the end result and will work with JR again in the fall for seasonal clean-up/maintenance and to have additional area cleared at the rear of my property. <br />

JR Thomas Landscaping is responsible for the majority of landscape, hardscapes and decking we've installed over many years.  JR is outstanding to work with, and his staff is highly professional and courteous.  He had great solutions for our sloping landscape, water and drainage systems.  We receive so many compliments on the addition of our stone front porch and patio, and  newly installed rock dry-creek bed along one side of our house, that works so well in our wooded property. His pricing is fair. We have been using JR Thomas for a very long time, involving two residences.  On a continuing basis, they provide our Spring and Fall Refurbishing of our landscaping.  Again, this past Spring they did their customary excellent work and every inch of our property looks fabulous.  It is noteworthy to mention that they have, in the past, built beautiful walls that continue to bring compliments year after year.  You can expect quality every step of the way. <br /> <br />
