Reliable service and very fair prices! The crews were experienced, professional, and hard working. The removal and clean up of the property exceeded our expectations. The friendly and courteous crew worked well individually and together as a team. They had the proper equipment, knowledge and skills to do this large job in a safe and expedient manner. They provided shredding/mulching of small trees and brush on site. They felled and hauled away a number of very large tall trees and ground the stumps. Winston Jones is a man of his word with integrity and honesty. We highly recommend them and will definitely use their services again.

Excellent service. Matt explained in detail everything to be done and job was completed as planned. Very professional in all aspects, in fact many neighbors came out to watch them work and commented on how good a job was done. Three trees removed including a 60 foot pine, and stump and root removal included. Plenty of crew arrived on time and left my yard looking like it did before they started. Price was competitive and Angie's List discount was honored.. I would definitely hire them again and recommend this company without any reservation.

I hired J and W Tree Service to cut down numerous trees on my property. On August 23, 2018 one of the trees they were cutting fell on and broke my septic tank. Winston, who is the owner of J and W Tree Service, refuses to submit a claim to his insurance company or take responsibility for the damage, and is instead blaming me. He says I incorrectly told him where the septic tank was located and says he has a witness. He and his “witness” are not correct, because this is not true. I both told and showed Winston the correct location. I have no reason to tell him it is located somewhere other than where I have correctly known it to be since we built our home and had the septic system installed over 25 years ago! In fact, my memory of its location is reinforced each time it's been pumped out, which has been every four years since it was installed. Each time I've had it pumped out; which was most recently two years ago, I showed the contractor where it is and watched them pump it out. Winston offered to pay half of the deductible if I would place a claim with my insurance carrier. I thanked him for the offer but declined it because even though they knew the location of the septic tank, they cut down the tree that fell and broke the tank and this is precisely what their insurance coverage is for. I didn't do anything wrong and placing a claim with my insurance carrier will cause an increase in the premiums I pay. I should not be expected to file a claim nor should I have any out of pocket expense as a result of these damages. I did everything I could do, I told and showed them where the septic tank was before they started cutting the trees, and when one of the workers fell into the hole created by the broken septic tank, I gave him a pair of shorts, socks, and shoes to change into after he rinsed off the sewage. I asked if he was okay and he said yes and appeared to be okay as he continued to work the remainder of the afternoon. I've been issued a citation by the health department that requires I have the septic tank replaced by the end of this month, September 2018. I have given J and W Tree Service the time and every opportunity to rectify the situation to no avail. They have told me they will not pay anything for the new septic tank, and have thus far refused to file a claim with their insurance and have resorted to calling me a liar and a cheat. This is the epitome of poor service and unprofessional behavior. I obviously do not recommend J and W Tree Service.

We had two very old oak trees close to our home that needed to be removed because of bore beetle damage. We were concerned about the difficulty of removal because of how close they were to our house. Winston and his crew of five men, were amazing. The crew very carefully took both trees down starting in a bucket truck piece by piece, cleaning up everything as they went step by step. It was fascinating to watch. In speaking with the crew they reminded us of the "Barn Wood Builders" crew. They were so kind, thoughtful and attentive to our requests. I would hire them again in a minute. We thought their pricing was more than reasonable based on the size and location of the trees. The overall care they took in the removal was greatly appreciated. Also as an RN, safety is always a concern of mine, they all wore helmets, eye protection and had a protection line for the man in the bucket truck. The whole operation was top quality from start to finish.

The job went very well. One of the trees was rotted out pretty badly, so the fall was somewhat unpredictible. The crew handled it very well, cleaned up the area, and removed or shredded all the debris. We were very pleased.

All went very well, scheduling and weather changes did not cause any problems for us. During the job, we found several more trees in a dangerous situation, so we added those trees to be cut down as well. At first we did not think we would need the topsoil, but when we learned that tree stumps go very deep in the ground, we used the topsoil to replace the wood chips, so grass would grow back. We are happy to have found J and W Tree Service to be a reliable and professional company, because we literally live "in the woods," and never know what storm, rain, or drought will bring next- unfortunately.

WOW is the best word to describe our experience with J & W Tree Service. I placed a call requesting an estimate, company owner Winston visited my home within 4 hours and provided me a written estimate on the spot. He was able to answer my questions regarding scheduling and I was placed on the schedule quickly. The estimate was a bargain compared to other company estimates I received for the same work. The professional crew arrived at my home early and they were amazing. We've used many contractors through the years at 4 different homes and J & W Tree Service is the best there is. They went to work immediately, efficiently and our trees were removed quickly and cleanly. It doesn't even look like they were there - except the trees and stumps are gone! This company is a stellar example of excellent customer service, efficiency & professionalism. I wish I could use them again in the future but I have no mature trees left on my new construction lot- if you need any tree or stump work - call them today. Great! The team came right on time, removed the limbs, and took down the tree precisely where it was safe to have landed. They cleaned up with hardly a trace of debris. The team were polite, professional, and excellent in their work.

I called a few places and everyone was very professional and nice. Winston from J&W just seemed very personable and comforting. I've never experienced this type of work before and Winston took a lot of time to walk me through the process, even asking questions about needs I hadn't thought about (like using the stump grindings to fill the holes). He found out that I was into wood-working and asked if I wanted some of the wood sized and saved for my projects. Just a very thoughtful, professional and responsive person to work with. The crew arrived on time and ready to work. They were all incredibly professional and positive! I was fascinated with the process and the crew made it a great experience. I have never seen such a dedicated team work so **** ** anything in my life. They were in such great sync, seamlessly moving around the yard and tackling the various tasks while always making sure each of them were safe, as well as watching out for the safety of their peers. The job took about 4 days and everything was in great shape when they left. I never really thought about what it would look like once they were done. They made sure the yard was leveled and raked, clean of debris and the section of fence that was removed to allow their equipment into the yard was reinstalled. We now have a huge backyard free of trees and with no trees and lots of potential! It's everything we wanted... and the work Winston and his crew did for us more than exceeded expectations! The team seemed to really enjoy their work and are amazingly talented at their craft. Each team member was professional and approachable and really made this a great experience. We've already scheduled more work with J&W and can't wait to have them back.

J and W Tree Service did an amazing job at my house, which has a number of big and very difficult trees that I wanted to have removed. The J&W crew was polite (our neighborhood kids came and watched them from a distance every morning and loved the machinery), dependable, hard working, courteous and very fair and reasonably priced. Winston and his team were also great at communicating what the timeline looked like for our job. The crew was amazing at helping us with the landscaping and areas around the trees where they did the stump grinding and wood chipping - the service they provided to us was much more than just "tree service". Our property looks a million times better after J&W tree service was done (you can't even tell there were 17 trees in our yard!). They were so professional and thorough - I will be bringing them back for more work (and I was sad to see them go!). I would highly recommend these guys to anyone without hesitation.

I contacted J&W after receiving several very high offers (some more than $1,000 over what J&W charged) from other providers. I needed the tree taken down with minimal disruption to surrounding area, and J&W recommended using lawn mats to protect the lawn from the piece they roped down after climbing the tree. There was obviously and added cost in climbing and roping the tree (along with getting some machinery in to assist) and some providers seemed to try and take advantage of that in their prices. I was very impressed with Winston's responsiveness, value, and professionalism. I have a lot of trees on my lot (with many close to our house) and would call J&W again for work in a heartbeat.

The job that J & W Tree Service did was very good. They protected all of the gravestones and did not damage any of them. They also saved a red bud tree that was in between 2 big trees that needed to come down.
